By: Hasan O Horri

LONDON (Somalilandsun) – The sovereignty of Somaliland is irrevocable thus a foregone conclusion and the only way forward is international recognition at all or no cost.

These sentiments were expressed by the president H.E. Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo during a meeting with British Somalilanders in London on the evening of 19th April 2013.

The head of state also informed the over 1000 landers at the meeting that he has informed the UK government that the decision by the Hargeisa Administration to boycott the 7th May London conference on Somalia still stands firm.

During a meeting President Silanyo held with the British Prime Minister David at No 10 Downing street The UK government had asked Somaliland to reconsider its boycott decision and participate in the 7th May London conference on Somalia.

Said Dr Silanyo "We informed the British premiere that The London conference which is co-chaired by the president of SomaliaDavid Cameron requested President Silanyo to reconsider somalia conference participation during a meeting a No 10 Downing street is solely for that country therefore having nothing for Somaliland to offer nor for it to be offered"

The head of the yet to be recognized country also revealed that though he rejected the UK request to reconsider on attending the London conference, Somaliland is beholden to the people and government of the United Kingdom for continued friendship that the two countries have shared for long.

Said he, "It is with regret that I refuse to accede to the British request but I informed PM David Cameron that while Somaliland is proud of its friendship and grateful of development support it receive s from the UK, the decision of Landers is supreme to all"

To the jubilation of the multitude of British Somalilanders and those from other European countries sardine packed in the Mermaid Centre of central London Dr Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo said that his administration is ruled by the decisions and desires of Somaliland citizens in whose mandate he, president Silanyo operates under.

On the issue burning issue pertaining to on-going dialogue with Somalia President Silanyo informed that Somaliland and its administration holds no ill-will against its neighbour Somalia but only wishes of good tidings but that any engagement between the two have and shall only be on equal basis that is one sovereign country to another.

He reiterated his oft promise to knock every door, visit any country and or meet any individual deemed of importance to the attainment of Somaliland's 21 years old quest for international recognition as a sovereign nation.

Somaliland which pulled out of its then 1960 voluntary later fateful union with Somalia in 1991 has remained unrecognized by any nation despite full jurisdiction of its British mapped boundaries and undeniable gains in Democracy, security and multi-sectored development etc.

Following the dictates of the Somalia conference held in London and Istanbul in 2012 Somaliland has held three dialogues with Somalia resulting in the Seven points Ankara Communique of 13th April 2013 which augment and reinforce the four points of Dubai Declaration and eight points Chevening House-London agreement.

The lively meeting with Diaspora Somalilanders the president H.E Ahmed Mahmud Silanyo was accompanied by the first lady Ms Amina Sh Mohamed Jirdeh "Weris", Speaker of parliament and leader of opposition party Wadani Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi "Irro", Foreign minister Dr Mohamed Abdilahi Omar, Minister of the presidency Mr Hirsi Haji Ali, Attorney General Mr Hasan Ahmed Aden, and Diplomatic Representative in the UK Ambassador Aden Awale.

Things are getting more interesting, I hope he follows through. If this is his final word then why is the Somali president wasting his time negotiating with

Somaliland? Shouldn't he concentrate his energy in building a functioning country first?

The talks between Somalia and Somaliland is something the international community called for its not in the hands of the Somalia President. The world called for the 2 sides to talk and to clarify their future relations and they would facilitate these talks and support it particularly the Europeans called for these talks to happen. The president of Somalia can in his turn than negotiate for a union while Somaliland insist to remain a separate republic at the end the people decide. Let the talks continue in a few months and see how it goes, i think the president of Somalia will go for some sort of compromise and the SL goverment will support it as long as it is given an official exit way out, in a reasonable time frame. The self determination of the people of Somaliland is the way forward.

^^ The thing what can you do to stop Somaliland the answer is nothing:D

Somaliland has left you behind and some people still have a hard time accepting this fact. With the Koonfurians the Pirates seem to be the one who really are deeply saddened by this development since they are neither in Mogadishu politically. Nor is there room for them when Somalia and Somaliland are talking.

Saddened by what exactly? LOL You got some Qaat jokes, don't you? I don't need to do anything as long as I am confident that no recognition is insight.

I will feel very pity to see these euphoric secessionist faces saddened in a short while just like used to happen whenever they got a little too excited, every few years, about finally achieving the dream and recognition being on the corner.

Calm down boys, aren't you getting a little too excited for what the politics is worth and don't you ever learn lessons from the not so far gone history.

Indeed the Pirates have lost everything politically and economically the garowe clan enclave agents are no longer roaming in Mogadishu. They are out of business since their piracy activity is no longer active so the double dealing projects with one voice claiming to fight piracy, trying to get support from the international community at the same time, sharing the piracy booty with the pirates.

They wont have any influence in the so called jubbaland project because the Mogadishu government placed saacid farax in charge to deal with the Kikuyu agents. When it comes to Somaliland and Somalia and the dialogue process, they were put in their place to sit behind Hassan culusow and co, and that he is the only person legally responsible for Somalia from raskmabooni to raas caseer.

Faroole was so desperate because of his situation and the status of his tribal state he suggested secession for his tribal fiefdom and hinted that he wanted to Join Somaliland:D. When it comes to Political H.artism its a dead cause 3 maakhir subclans in the past 3 months declared their support for SL including the former maakhir governor for the pirates defected 2 months ago to Hargeysa. And Somaliland vassal region khatumo roaming in the eastern district of taleex are still opposed to the pirate fiefdom. Even they want to join SL and close down the border with the help of the SL goverment they just want a piece of the pie in hargeysa like the ssc faction.

Apart from pirate Land lost this and that you have not answered my question, but I didn't expect you to answer anything. If we were to believe your desperate bluffs in regards to the state of Puntland, then we wouldn't be seeing these intense energy from our Qaat induced secessionists to discredit the entity they hate so much.

For your information, you can huff and buff all you want but Qaatland will not be a sovereign tribal country as long as the boys in Garowe are alive and kicking. Simply put we can not allow angry tribal entity next door to obtain the license to acquire more deadly killer drug. We have a human and Somali responsibility to preserve the Somali dignity :):)

Yeah I can still lecture you about dignity of the Somali race as you can not be trusted to not invite another pedophile in the Somali houses and bring shame to the Somali race.

True that, dignity and perseverance that against all odds set up the government you are dealing with today. Xasan Sheikh has the support of Puntland, no one has anything against him and he is the legitimate president of Somalia and is treated as such. But if people disagree with him, it is in no way to replace him or fight his presidency but simply policies.

You need to learn the art of politicking if you ever want to reach the level of Puntlanders, how many threads after threads have the likes of you posted since SOL's inception on the IMMINENT DEFEAT.

:D Pathetic bunch.
