The assassin who killed the great Sheikh in Garowe was a Somalilander based in Burco

jacphar, your analysis is wrong. i don't think somaliland invested in security more than puntland. if it was a case of al-shabaab not targeting somaliland because of better security then we would have heard about many failed assassination attempts in the news. alshabab doesn't even make the effort and it has its bases in somaliland. if you feel that the reason people are being killed in puntland is because somaliland government is less corrupt, then you are not really as reasonable as i thought. loool. somaliland government is as corrupt and powerless as others and the recent stolen election and all the political clan problems it is having is an example of that.

why are Puntland elites on the top of shabaab kill list? that is the question everyone is asking. Why doesn't alshabab target somaliland elites?

how many nabadoons, elders, sheikhs were killed in Galkacyo in the last few years? more than you can count. how many in berbera, burco and hargiesa?

i seek answers.

The reason why Al Shabaab is not targeting Somaliland is because of public vigilante and security agencies that are doing their job well. The terrorists know that they are being watched and are not ****** to gamble when the odds are staked against them.

Take a look at this old report to get some sense why Somaliland is as secure as it is.

Mooge, you are wrong on this. Alshabab are wicked group built on wicked ideology and does not have clan or state borders. The boy who killed the good Sheikh might be Somalilander by clan affiliation today but tomorrow he might be your brother or own son. Alshabaab have interests not permanent friends. The reason why assassinations don't happen very often (might that continue Inshallah) is not to do with Somalilan'd security strength but it's more to do with logistical and military tactics from Alshabaab side. Alshabab take it's enemy one by one and not at once, so as they don't face concerted resistance. Five years ago I predicted that Alshabab will target Puntland next and advised Puntland to strengthen it's defences and join forces with the TFG, but people thought Puntland's defences were not to be breached. Somaliland is at the same point where Puntland was five years ago and should join the war on extremism and falsehood before its too late. Somaliland and Puntland should work together to eradicate this evil from their areas now.

^^ A kid thinking simple huh? He knows exactly what his doing, he has an opportunity to take shots at SL. Rahm Emanuel said it best "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste. And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

We were schooled well on the art of Propaganda on this side of the globe.
