SL: 'Calanka Somalia waa qaran-dumis'

Recommended Posts

One knew democracy and freedom of expression were mere slogans intended for the consumption of outside world…it never existed.

But the real take away of this move is that despite twenty years of uninterrupted indoctrination, and with population where sixty percent of it is represented by a demographic that grew up with the said indoctrination, the secessionist ideologues in the north have indeed failed. If the admin is still struggling to do away the blue flag in the current political void in the south due to the absence of a strong Somali state, picture what would happen when a Somali government with all its political machinations are in place to influence the political affairs in Somaliland.

when a Somali government with all its political machinations are in place to influence the political affairs in the Somaliland.

The former Siyaadist government tried that but they miserably failed and back then Somaliland with it's functioning government institutions didn't exist. What makes you think a failed state can be a threat to somaliland.

Libaahe, no one doubts that secessionists have rules to enforce…that is not a moot point. However, we are commenting on the apparent political fragility you're facing. If the blue-flag-waving demo were to take place in the disputed areas i.e. Laascaanood, your spin would’ve been credible. But the fact it took place in Boorame (the provincial capital of Awdal region, the home pace of Mr. Riyaale Kahin) shows how little this secessionist nonsense has resonance with that community.

Xaaji xunjuf, I am sure you are drunk with SNM’s revisionist literature, but it is a known fact that Barre regime has effectively put down both SNM and SSDF rebellious activities. He was weakened in the process no doubt but SNM’s bold moves in the mid eighties did not yield military success to sing about. And Barre at the time was a wanning star and he was a fully reliant on western doll outs, the financial institutions were collapsing, and his security apparatus were disintegrating…yet he was able to put you down. Atrocities committed in the form of blatant human rights violation are a different topic.

xiinfaniin. It it just few disgruntled youths of former president Riyaale's sub sub group. Majority of Awdal are content with Somaliland nevertheless and this minor incidents won't have much effect in the wider frame of things as some wish. ;)

That how most revolutions start, first the side with the most power tries to minimize it and claim the numbers are small.

It's obvious Awdal is having issues as everyone knows, there has been more incidents in the last few months since the elections then there were during all of Riyaale's reign.

Thankful. SSC maybe but not Awdal majority of them are content with somaliland they have gained so much since it's creation. be it peace, development, 1 president, 2 VP, and countless other gains. they know their interest lies in somaliland not elsewhere besides they are peaceful people. however SSC is a different issue as they are more bitter and have destructive intentions.

Xiin fanin Siyaad bare and his dictatorial regime failed to defeat the SNM politically (Mengistu Agreement) and military SNM marked the date of civil war of somalia 27 may burco 1988.We transformed him from the Dictator of somalia to the mayor of mogadisho in mid 1990.

As for the financial institutions cause of collapse sure somalia partly turned into a beg nation with all the Mismanagement and boliqaran :D .

Libaahe,

I agree with you the majority are most likely content. They want peace just like anyone else. I believe some are worried they will be marginalized because they are smaller in number then the dominant group.

The fact that people run around with blue flags and are being arrested shows that some are not happy with your enclave. The fact 300 ONLF landed on your shores and went right through is also evidence.

One thing is for certain though, the news that you are arresting people for carrying Somalia's flag will not help you with recognition.

Thankful. The bulo-caado - awdal seashore issue has been sorted out the man head of ciidaanka xeebaha ee galbeedka Gen.Xudhun was sacked and more troops deployed to that area the Gov of sland had made it clear it won't let that happen again. however tell us is the Sheikh attam issue sorted? it seems his boys are still in the mountains inches away from your business capital bosaso and properly practising ever more military combats.

Thankful

Libaahe,

The fact remains Awdal has had some issue's the last couple months...the question is why?

Also, I have said it many times and will continue to....Atam is too scared to show his face. This shows you the fear he has of the authorities because no rebel leader hides their face in Somalia, why is he the first? Well I can tell you, tt's because of the Puntland government.

Ceeb. Ceeb adeer. The democracy thing is not a mere slogan. It is a fact that annoyed the hell out of you when it took place. Naga daa dee, nin ween baad tahay, xaqqa waa la qirta saaxib. :D

As for all this flag business and the 'indoctoranation', it is all the straws you and those with hopes of a greater Somalia can clutch at. I wont begrudge you such tiny morseles.

GT,

Norf recognises Siilaanyo as his adeer, I don't. As the time honoured Somali tradition dictates, I shall only come to the defence of wasiirka macdanta (waryaa Jb, so wasiirka macdanta muu aheen kii adeerka ii aha? :D ). Madax weenaha iyo wasiirada kale Ayoub, Suldaanka iyo Norf ayaa ka mas'ool. :D
