@ Malika it is not about truth hurting or not...yes FGM and depending on welfare is shame on us but there is something like not airing you dirty laundry. If the aim is to constructively improve the society there are better ways to do it than humiliating your self and culture in front of a culture that already despises it enough.

C&H what Kadra is saying about FGM And the welfare is right lakiin this is no way to stop it. The right thing to do is educate our people on the problems. She's telling the truth. She just shouldn't have done it by naming and shaming. She could've talked to influential people to make some sort of grassroot effort to stop these demeaning practices.

 

Other communities have a culture of caring about one's reputation by the type of job they have and where they live. Indo-yere people are well known to compete with one another on who has the better home and who's more educated than who. It just seems that most of our people have a ghetto mentality and don't have an amitious bone in their body. So unfortunate.

That anology is more similar to that of someone excessively using drugs, that one is a personal issue; Anyways lightening creams is not limited to one culture, it is also generally understood to contain dangerous side effects, on the other hand this one is about abusing a system put in place by the government.

People calm down, both welfare fraud and child abuse [FGM] are wrong and should be addressed. The ladies looks have nothing to do with what she stands for.
