President Abdiqasim in talks with Egyptian president in Cairo

Text of report by Somali newspaper 'Xog-Ogaal' on 23rd October

 

President Husni Mubarak of Egypt and President Abdiqasim Salad Hasan of Somalia yesterday held a special meeting during which President Abdiqasim briefed Husni Mubarak about the Somali reconciliation conference held in Djibouti and its outcome.

 

During the meeting, Husni Mubarak said he was very pleased that the Somali conflict, which had appeared intractable, had now been resolved. He also commended the process through which it was resolved.

 

"The Egyptian government promises that it will respect the outcome of the Arta conference," Husni Mubarak said. He said Egypt will continue to help Somalia morally and materially.

The Prime Minister, H. E. Mr. Ali
Mohamed Gedi, led a official delegation from the TFG to Brussels
at the invitation of the European Commission. He took the opportunity to meet with the Assistant Secretary General (currently officer in charge of the ACP Secretariat) to update him on the latest progress of the restoration of Law and Order in Somalia.

Gheelle.T..These men spent more traveling than they actually do in fixing anything. They are vacationing every other month...Sharif has started doing the same thing!

lets not be communist now, heads of state and governments actually traveling to work on external relationships, foreign affairs, humanitarian assistance is working. By all means travel, by foot, car or train because that would be doing something rather then setting in a office. One other thing, they should be reminded that when they do travel, they represent an entire people, look the part, put on a freakin tie and a neat suit and leave the semi-shorts back home.
