With all talk about mayhem and mortar attacks, Mogadishu today has an admin that is working and police stations being re constructed. It will take some time but we are not far from pacifying the capital, Kismayu, and other important regions in the south.

Allaahu Akbar! Great news, an assemblence of normality our capital has been lacking for many years nearly over two decades!

We wish the people of Mogadishu and Benadir success in their efforts to pacify our capital and we shall stand behind them with all their efforts!

Mogadishu is peaceful, Mogadishu is on the ascendency, Mogadishu has got a bright future in front of her, Mogadishu is nearly safe and soon it will be the most secure capital in the whole of the world ishallah. Amiin!

Those who are unhappy about this progress, I wish them that they see the light and how good order, development and peace is! I wish them they will taste the essence of dowladinimo so that they might work to reconstruct their country and work for it's development rather then try to discredit the peace efforts and cheer the pathetic would be destabilisers of the capital! Amiin, inshallah.

This seems really funny, i recently met a guy who came back from Mogadisho, the guy told me that he some of his cousins took a car to cruise around the city.

Then the driver of the car drove in a one way street, and he said after i told the driver that he was in a one street, his instant answer was " WAR HEEDHE WADOOYINKANA MA LAYSKU GUMAYSAN JIRAY"

Indeed this is good development for resident of xaamar , these kind of positive action by TFG can promote good image and better corporation from residents .

Goverment should also take these steps ......

=can security situation in somalia improve Dramatically in next couple weeks or month . This meaning no checkpoints , can somali citizin move freeley through out somalia . Geedi is showing singes of courage by goin to baydhawa Twice by land .

Abdulahi has stop bagging these broke africans for soldiers wallahi , TFG can do itself if they are seriouse .

TFG needs rreach out to those who are opposing it , not using military but rather by dialug.

Excellent point Bambo, excellent point. I see no reason for foreign peace keepers and I hope they do not come to Somalia. May they never set foot in Somalia and it seems as though our prayers are being answered as all the countries who promised them are balking at the last minute!

We do not need them, what we need is dialogue and internal reconciliation not AIDs and more friction.

Hundreds protest in Somali capital

MOGADISHU, Somalia Hundreds of protesters in Somalia are vowing to keep foreign troops from coming into their country.

This after the African Union said peacekeepers from Uganda and Nigeria are ready to be deployed in Somalia and will be airlifted as soon as possible. The supporters of Somalia's ousted Islamic courts council demonstrated in northern Mogadishu today, chanting anti-government slogans and burning tires.

Ethiopia's military intervention on behalf of the U-N-backed Somali government in December proved crucial in routing militias loyal to the courts council. The protesters are calling for the return of the Islamic movement, which was credited with restoring some order in the violent nation.

^^^The protest was about Abukar Cadaan, and thus they spin it any which way they want...

As for the AU troops they are needed for now. We are a year from having enough highly trained troops. Collections of millitias is not enough as proven by the failure of the courts.

That is a good idea. They should kill as many people as they can in Muqdisho, the hotbed of opposition.

That is what A/Y and people like you who hail from his clan wanted for Muqdisho. Death and destraction for it. The peace our families had was destroyed so that A/Y could be in town. He stuck to his plan of invading Muqdisho with the help of Ethiopians. The guy refused to visit Muqdisho after 2004 even though reer Muqdisho demonstrated in the streets defying the other warlords on his behalf and the TFG he headed. I myself wanted A/Y to be in town so bad that I posted somebody should kidnap him and take him to muqdisho so people could rally around him and fight for his beleagered and broken organization. When ICU liberated Muqdisho and brought the needed changes the TFG failed to deliver, the hard won peace was buried and now people's life is once again full of violence and fear, the basic necessities cost twice as much, and the future looks dark given what A/Y and his hellish crew of warlords are saying. With the all bandits from other clans and their drug addicts coming to Muqdisho, what we expect is more violence, more robbery and more bloodshed.

You got what you cried for time and again on SOL, muqdisho bombed to submission and A/Y warlording over a violent city where people are murdered for the mere accusation of having supported a movement they found delivering justice and safety for them. They murdered in cold blood two men who were teaing and minding their business last week in Bakaaraha simply because they hailed from Hasan Turki's clan. It is alleged in muqdisho that the TFG clan militias aligned with the defeated warlords are taking revenge on innocent somalis as they please while dressed in Xabashi uniforms.
