There were two rounds of fighting.

In the first phase, it is quite true Barre suffered quite disastrously and even lost the lone tekniko he entered the battle with his infantry when it hit a landmine. Then Barre ordered a retreat (helped by reer Bu'aale themselves led by the Governor during this point) and sent a call for his vehicles to move in. They then set in from three sides and the rest is history.

Nothing is realiable here, everyone is simply reporting news from hearsay as they´re far away from the actual battle ground!

None of the two parties, thinks to retreat and resolve the issue through dialogue!

 

Each of them wants to hold a strong position during the upcoming meeting between the two warrying parties in Khartoum, Sudaan! They both want to be in a strong negotiating position!

 

I really don't want Barre and his militia back into Kismaayo!

 

Let's hope for a better solution, for the people of Kismaayo, but right now the islamists are best for them!
