"No extension, election on Jan 8th, and honourable transfer of power" Said A/llahi Deni

With the way the votes are coming down, those candidates who oppose 1P1V would have done better if the people were allowed to elect their president.

He did allow them to let the people elect their president and vice-president, but the opposition thought Deni would get the beating of a lifetime.

So how come the oppostion of deni failed big time back to the basics then

They were disunited. Their unity was based solely on their dislike of Deni. It did not help other candidates who were perceived as being in alliance with people from Villa Somalia among others. Most importantly, Deni had the support of reer Mudug, some of the segments of reer Bare and Sanaag, and 17 MPs from Sool.

He wanted to change certain articles of the Constitution before the final draft was adopted. The most important changes are eliminating the PM position, and adopting the presidential system. He also wanted to reduce the number of political parties to just two. In other words, he wants a strong presidency with little checks.
