It’s not Xunjuf he is open to new ideas. but it’s 🇩🇯 not wanting to change and reform, instead propagating bad ideas, as their people are taking inspiration and example of rights they see in neighbouring SL and have been putting pressure demanding for democratic rights on  🇩🇯 leadership.

I think 10 years is not long enough, It should mimic North Korea, should be for life

This Somali think tank wrote a short policy piece on having a Presidential one term-limit of 6 years. Preventing any extensions and power struggles for a second term, while extending term to 6 years giving incumbent suffixen time to deliver his agenda. Made quite some sense actually.

Ten years u will then solve the whole kororsi stuff also u can get more done if u have  one administration for a long period of time changing the leaders then all the time changing policy will cause a headache and also stop the progress just look at turkey there are elections but the suldan wins all the time  that means u can get things done to have three political parties is also good  limit it. U will limit the subclanish rivalry

What if it’s a very bad admin, going against the interest of the people and country, Wouldn’t a 10 year period lead to an irreversible and irreparable damage impacting even future generations negatively. No country has a 10 year term, in order to stay in power one needs renewed confidence through a public vote, Even in Turkey that is the case. hence why one tries to actively create meaningful reform that positively impact the country and people. But giving a 10 year term without public being able to approve or disapprove of the achievements and results, is quite a lazy form of politics.

And looking at the Somali history it would make sense to have a one term limit of 6 or 7 years maximum for President, without extension. As no Somali President ever got a second term, and public is fed up after few years with admins it would make sense to have a term limit.

If your issue is about the cost, time and effort elections and campaigning require, then plenty examples where you have all elections (Presidential, Parliament, local) on the same day, just look at example of Kenya.

Our next (New)  president must start the process of changing this unstable system.   Based on proper research.  We should take a system that's fair to all of our different communities, a system that costs less to run effectively without mudo kordhin .

You can only have a system considered fair, when you also restore harmonious communal relationships, through truth and reconciliation where  every community puts on the table their issues, grievances based on facts as you said, and not base things on fadhikudirir and made up stories.

The better system is the one where the term of the president is only 5 years, not a day longer, non-extendable under any circumstances, and if an election to replace him is not conducted on time, he authomatically losses authority and the leader of the parliament is sworn in as a care taker.

I agree with you , This mudo kordhin thing must be banned.  Waa dhaqan xunoo la caadaystay. Even ina mooge understood how damaging it is , that's why he said I will leave after I finish my term.   He knows the peaple don't like qof iska soo taagan.  Waxan u malaynaya dhaqan xumadan saboolnimada inoogu wacan ,  doorashooyinkeena lacag badan baa Ku baxda.   Waxa inoo fiican in halmar la wada qabto 3 doorasho oo isa saaran.  Si kharash Ku inooga yaraado.
