The " Walk In " president has brought back a drug deal that should be divided by the 4.5 formula.

Here in Canada we have what we call a " Walk in Clinic".

If you are Canadian and sick, you could walk to certain clinics near your home  without appointments and the doctor will treat you after verifying your health card number. No questions asked.

In Somalia, there is a new political parlance that is taking shape thanks  to president Hassan Sheikh Mohamuud. He is basically " Walking in" in foreign capitals without prior arrangements or well thought national policy.  He doesn't have a foreign minister accompany him or even advance team to prepare his agenda. Tomorrow is his 64th day since his election and no cabinet or government has been formed. He is going places while bringing singed documents to home. He has been traveling since late June.

His first trip was Abu Dhabi, the home of the money laundering entity called UAE.  We haven't seen him for five days, and he brought almost nothing other than few millions of relief aid. He even got sick while he was there and came back with bruised eye due to either falling down or other unknown incident. After that horrible trip to UAE, he found his senses back and went to Turkey where he was shown brotherhood, honest cooperation and the dignity accorded to respected heads of states. He proceeded to Eritrea to check  the well being of the 5,000 boys trained by that nation and achieved most of his goals while there. After those trips we all thought that he will settle down, help the prime minister form his cabinet and tackle the main issues of the day.

Despite repeated warnings and the lame duck status of the current Kenyan leadership which faces an election within weeks, he flew to Nairobi.  Decent and patriotic Somalis were shocked by this hasty caravan of the president . Many of us were wondering why is he rushing without government in place? Why don't give these files to the prime minister and his foreign desk team to analyze and study? We knew he didn't had time to prepare or analyze these documents and files since he was traveling for the last four weeks. There is a law level foreign ministry director from Galmudug who is accompanying him to these foreign capitals.

I and many others had inquired why the rush?

Well, finally we got some answers.  Insider sources say that the four trips embarked by HSM, two of them, UAE and Nairobi trips,  were arranged by former premier Rooble for business reasons alone. The drug (Qatt) deal was arranged by Rooble and financed by current national security minister who was in the cabinet just for business reasons. The deal which will cost millions to the Somali addicts of the Qatt and will be shared among Rooble, 30 years 30 million man and some members of the inner clan of the president HSM. Insiders also told us that while Shariif Ahmed was the candidate of the Jowhar/Mogadishu residents of "Unaka", HSM was certainly the candidate of the Galmudug oligarchs who want to keep the business connections through the HSM government. The fool didn't stop their but tried to " Walk In " to Addis Ababa , Ethiopia by way of Djibouti without notice.  Qaraaba Salaan ayaan u Socda Djibouti Ayaan Joogaa Hadaana Dayaaradan soo Fuulaya". He flew over Ethiopia twice to go to one province of Ethiopia , Djibouti and a renegade one in the name of Eritrea. Mr. Abiy who is in deep trouble these days from the north and south west of Ethiopia decided to score some points against this stupid guest forcing himself to other peoples homes without notice.

The big dilemma is this drug deal singed by the president might not hold for too long. Some of you who are familiar with the Drug and Cartel business of North America know that every drug turf is controlled by certain gangs and encroaching to someone else's territory could bring serious trouble including death.  Now, the regional governments want to share the drug profit. Puntland want its share since the daily  Qatt  flight comes directly to Garoowe from Nairobi. Both Hir-Shabeele and KG also want their share. Heck , even Somaliland want to import the Kenyan Qatt directly in order to be the grace side of the Kikuyu. Haddanu qaad ka iibsano armey na aqoonsadaan. Qaldaanimadii nalagu shhegi jiray waa tan oo kale

If the drug debate heats up and causes national crises , I Galbeedi would like to suggest that we should share the Kenyan drug profit to the 4.5 formula. Have you even seen a president sign a drug deal that will destroy the livelihood of his citizens. He would have made a verbal commitment and change his minds later if it doesn't serve his nations interest. History will show that HSM signed a drug deal, it is a first in Somalia. That tells you a lot about the fake Wadaado called " Dumb Jadiid"

Waxaan Maqli jiray maxaan u soo joogay.

Reer Walba Qaadkiisa toos ha uga soo Qaato Kenya.

Why should we allow the Galmudug oligarchs to take all the profit. THese guys do not have any interest being in the government except for business reasons. The latest reports in Villa-Somalia indicate there are stalemates on cabinet formations. Rooble was pushing Faqi, the man who wanted to dismantle Galmudug, to be the foreign minister, but Hamza Barre has refused. That doesn't mean Rooble will be empty handed. He got Fiqi either the interior or national security and he got Al Cadaala, the guy who took over the national TV and Radio after throwing out the coward called Dubbe.

If the foreign policy of the country is either based on the business interest of the oligarchs or formulated by inexperienced local boys surrounding the president, God help us.

If this so called president signed a drug deal,  why would only one group benefit from it?  It's a valid question.

Waxaan qab lahayn hadduu wadanka u taliyo, maxaa la yeeli,  dee?

Perhaps you should have asked this question to your ina adeer/cousin the former failed dictator Farmaajo  who set the bad precedence when he signed the ''Drug Deal'' with Ethiopia.

Its hypocritical to talk openly against the current government acts who has done nothing but mirage the former government actions, who you folks here by the way openly encouraged and supported in silence.

Galbeedi, you never miss a chance to inject Somaliland into anything even if remotely related.

In any case, if it had to come to Kenyan Khat, I am sure the Kenyans would be sending their delegations to Hargeisa, just like Addis Abeba is doing, to sign the agreement. At least you should give that credit. But I am sure you are not the type to allow any credit to Hargeisa.

What did SL get back for its hundred million worth of imports/flow of dollars to Ethiopia in this trade agreement?

Somaliland wants at least 30% of Ethiopia's trade to go through Berbera Port. A lot of money is being spent on establishing the Berbera Trade Corridor by UK and UAE. In fact, UK is investing $100m dollars into getting this trade link to become a regional one. The UAE is sinking 1 Billion dollars.

Majority of these will be inside Ethiopia but oriented towards Berbera Port. That includes establishment of Dry Ports owned by DP World Berbera inside Ethiopia and as far as South Sudan and beyond.

The first agreement is for Ethiopia to give Logistics license to the first Private company which is owned by DP World Berbera Pty Ltd. This company will then establish and own Dry ports in key locations inside Ethiopia.

There is the Berbera Economic Zone project which gives foreign companies a foot in establishing itself in the region so they can distribute their products in the region.

I assume the 30% trade flow through Berbera is an intention but not guaranteed in a agreement,  the license for operating the dry port is a good move, but keep in mind that SL owns a minority share in that company, so UAE will largely be benefiting from this as well. Hope SL can use that again to its advantage in negotiations towards the UAE! But all in all it’s better then nothing and previously was the case, SL is learning.

Next should be Djibouti, and developing rational relationships and trade deals that also benefit SL.

This trade link is financed through Private/Public partnership between Somaliland Gov't, UK Gov't Foreign Investment Corp and UAE's Abu Dhabi Fund, and the main partner which is DP World.  All these entities, with the exception of Abu Dhabi Fund, are for-profit entities.

DP World owns 65% of the Port Operations such as Storage, Forwarding and Stevedoring. Whereas Somaliland Gov't owns the balance, as well as 100% of tax on imports and vessel port-call charges.

But Somaliland is banking on is the other added-services like Food, Fuel and Hotel services

At least Somaliland business community had  refused to pay $10 for a kilo of Qatt, instead of the agreed upon deal of $2.
