It is hard to predict how this selection could be a prelude of what to come.

Six men against the Rookie hand picked by Laftagareen. Being backed by powerful regional leader isn't enough for many. No one even knows this kid.

If these six men ganged up against the N&N candidate, similar things could happen to Farmaajo. If the three from Unkaka( Hassan Sheikh, Shariif, and Daahir Geelle), join Hassan Khayre and Deni to defeat Farmaajo, they could get similar results.

Maybe Shariif Ahmed would make a deal with Farmaajo, or Khayre might be offered the premiership if he reaches aroind 40.

Well, let the stupid selection begin, and for Allah sake give the people of Gedo their rights to be rapresented, THis is really day light robery by old mobb boss Dhabancad and his kid. I hope we don't have to hear anymore that fellow Dhabancad.

Laftagareen could have stood behind Saransoor, who had a little bit of gentleman's agreement to support. But Laftagareen wiilka yar ayuu kaga kalsoonaa because it was him, Xasan C/nuur, who stood beside him for weeks markuu Baydhabo qabsanaaye in late 2018. Saransoor was his lataliye for years after he conceded him to be Koonfur Galbeed leader.

Hadduu Saransoor taageeri lahaa inay kursiga helaan laga yaabay, but Saransoor is independent-minded oo la iskuma haleyn karo hadduu helo kursiga. Saransoor's concession hadaljeedin was a revenge against Laftagareen iyo Farmaajo.

I know Saransoor and his brothers very closely, especially his younger brothers who are very close to my family.

What has happened to Gedo region is actually far worst than the outcome for Farmaajo & NN team yesterday.

Rer Gedo were faced, with either no representation or with Kenya Approved Ahmed Madobe's fake MPs against what was agreed and implemented for the rest of the country. That Old Dhabanacad & Son Mr. Baahane used this flawed system they entrusted to lead against entire Clan, simply because of Farmaajo...

This is news to me, Somaliland's President Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal contributed financially for the establishment of the RRA group.

This is coming from the former Somaliland Foreign Affairs Minister and a close confidante of President Egal,  Dr. Mohamed Gees from Laas Qorey, East Sanaag.

Can't argue with that. definitely, Farmaajo's fault - undeniably, the worst PM pick by any Somali president ever...

What kind of BS is this? Secessionists want to circlejerk themselves.

RRA was formed in late 1995 after Caydiid's invasion of Koonfur Galbeed. That time, secessionist habrooyin were fighting among themselves or barely recovering from it.

The financiers behind RRA were KG diaspora, mainly Reer Ingiriis and Australia. There was a documentary made by a UK-based Reer KG man in 1999 showing all the leadership RRA in the countryside organizing their final offensive to liberate Baydhabo. Some of the clips from this documentary can be seen on Youtube now.

Top leaders were the late Xasan Maxamed Nuur Shaatigaduud, Ibraahin Xaabsade, Cabdalle Deeroow, the new speaker Sh. Aaden Madoobe and Qalinle among others. I watched this documentary in 1999. The VHS was sold to raise funds for RRA.

Qoorqoor ayaa siray u keenay, I guess. Now Qoorqoor himself cannot stand Rooblaawaha.

He should have named as a ra'iisul wasaare the most loyal to him to this day, Cali Yare Cali, guddoomiye ku xigeenka Banaadir.

The source of this information is from Dr Gees, a highly qualified indivitual who has served in many capacities both in Siyad Barre's regime and was a very close confidante of Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal.

Dr Gees is from the same region as @maakhiri1and I don't think he is making this up. This is first person source - xaadir/present when this was happening.

And yes, the times/years correspond about the same as you mentioned around the mid 1990s.

In the mid 1990s, the Somaliland economy was in fact booming, the livestock market was completely open. The 2000 Carta Conference was the first time Livestock market was politicsed in order to hurt Somaliland and bring them to the Conference. But before that, Somaliland was exporting close to 4 million heads of livestock a year and bringing in lots of cash.

Some Reer Sanaag also claimed then that Shaatigaduud inuu iyaga ka soo jeedo. So...

The quality of the source matter. This is not a source that is known to cheap talk.

Waryaa MMA,  Halyeey shastiguduud, AUN,  Waa la yaqaan, what is going on?😁

Anyways,  I agree Gees is very credible,  bal arinkan baadh, SL and SNM were big supporters of Caydiid/USC, marka no idea how they were working against him?

Mohamed Haji Ibrahim Egal was not part of the SNM. In fact, like @Miskiin-Macruuf-Aqiyaarmentioned, those years when the conflict in Somaliland was still fresh and Former Somaliland President Abdirahman Tuur and Aided Junior were in the progress of creating Sal-Balaadh.

So it is completely understandable that Egal could have wanted to weaken the Tuur/Aided Alliance by supporting the RRA.

Could be true, but this was another time and another leadership. And it doesn’t change the very recent disastrous forced mass deportation of Somali citizens hailing from Southwest pulled from their market stalls and deported from Las Anod and Erigavo. Where were you then?
