Australia Votes: Will Maxine (ALP) keep her lead

Recommended Posts

Maxine McKew is leading the Prime Minister's seat of Bennelong.

* Maxine McKew 52.6%; John Howard 47.3%

* 8% swing to ALP in Deakin

* 6.68% swing to ALP in Eden-Monaro

* Swings to Labor in Braddon and Bass

Early counting shows Labor leading the Coalition in several key marginal seats less than an hour after the first polls have closed in today's federal election.

Howard has been banking on the terrorism card for too long. In fact, this is the first election since 9/11 that Howard didn't run a scare campaign because it is becoming old and out dated now.

So far the results look promising for the ALP.

Baluug

LOL@Ruddslide. The question I have now is this:

Do any of you think that this guy will be any better for Muslims in Australia than the last guy? He's still a politician, and he's still a kafir. He still follows what the majority of Australians want, and from the stories I've heard, a lot of Australians are not fond of Muslims. Instead of supporting and voting for kafirs who don't care about us, why not support a Muslim candidate, and if there is none, why not run for office yourself? Allah knows there are enough politicians in SOL.....

Best news i've heard in years. Howard has been the Prime Minister of Australia since I was 10! Argh!

I've got some Labor* party hacks to celebrate with. :D

* This is the only situation where the American spelling of Labour is used.
