Somali Folk Dance - Unseen

I have never come across this dance before. I thought it was quite exotic and thought I'd share it.

 

Any of you know anything more about it?

i liked the way they following each other during the dance, specially when men are lining to clap while only one woman is heading towards them ,,, it is like a queen and those men are happy to welcome her. It must be telling something but we don't know.

 

never seen such dance too ,,,,,,, but i saw this clip before on youtube ,,,, look at the dress and the starting of the event ,,,, is that the Uunsi that the lady ay meesha ku shidayso ???

Nomandique, I have never seen this sort of dance, looks a bit made up, and was there a bit of tit-shaking at the men? Gosh!

No way man!

Irish Dancing is all about standing up straight and having your hands at the sides very straight.

and kicking and jumping very precisely.

Irish dancing is repressed. This dance looks like a full on fertility or rain dance with lots of flamboyance.
