Half of Somalis need some sort of psychological assessment and treatment. It is very useful for the Somalis to develop that field as it is often difficult to replicate findings/ treatments and studies from other cultures which are not helpful or does not tell us anything about the Somali.

Not everyone needs to be Doctors iyo Engineer (fake or real ones).

Debit is really a problem if you let it become a problem, most people just lack control and discipline to say No.

If I could go back in time I defintiely WOULD NOT have taken student loans..I would've taken a year or two off and worked. It's going to take me until 2016 at least to pay off my loans (at over 500/month!! ) On the bright side, my plight definitely educated my younger bros and the only thing I could do is make sure they don't fall into the same trap by helping them pay for school and making sure they save their money for school in the summer.

Alhamdulilaah, sometimes I forget to thank Allah(SWT) for the blessings he has bestowed upon me. I wish to never be in your situation, and may Allah make it easy for you,InshaAllah.

I went to an AACSB International accredited Business school (rank # 5 in the nation in its Accountancy program) and I somehow managed to free myself of the lures of student loans (included subsidized ones). Even medical students can manage their 'life-time investment' through personal savings and scholarships.

Che, was it in India that you completed your higher studies or in the city that u currently reside? And how do you justify the affliction of student loans?

AfricaOwn, psychiatrists can prescribe just like any other MD. Every field of study is critical, so go for a field your unique personality can exploit to the fullest potential.

That $8700 will turn to just $5000 when its taxed :D . Schools in America suck big time.

Nassir...I did my undergrad in Upstate and my grad in Beantown. I share the report's view and the educational system will become unsustainable if young people continue to be burden with loans. I'm particularly troubled the predatory nature of some school namely the for profit schools and even the traditional schools which are not less cheaper really.

I just didn't care for mocking body of knowledge as done by AO.

Really? waa markaan is dhihi jiray show America dhinaca adag kaligaaba ka jooga since everyone sounds like they have it easy.

I don't think any one who goes to school and works at the same time (no matter how they do it) qualifies for the lazy tittle. Most people work on a minimum wage and have to send money back home in addition to taking care of them selves and paying for school. Most people can't do with out student loan waa balaayo loo baahanyahay kinda thing ,

PS: I am really considering in aan deynata ka cararo. any ideas? lol

The land of free true north is always there, with its 'socialist' policies as the rednecks down south like to say.

^ :D @welcome back. I once considered moving there but the education system in both countries is about the same. You will end up with thousands of debt when u graduate.
