and here i thought after seein the title this was goin to be about 'dexter's lab' great cartoon...and dee was such an odd lookin airhead. *sigh* cartoons are just not the same.. um..sorry dear i'm not familiar with this show you speak of.
  4. My grandmother recently married a man 20yrs younger than her...i thought that was right and dandy. So long as no one is forcing either person to marry the other...nothing wrong with it. It doesnt sit right with me and i wouldnt do it, but i wont argue against it if others do it. whatever floats their boat.

  6. MMA low income families tend to live in areas such as dixon, or Jane and finch. It all comes down to financial reasons. But, given that it is been 17 years we would expect somalis to educate themselves and compete for better jobs and aim for a better life style. It is sad but it seems it became a trend most somalis I see are either taxi drivers, factory workers, or umm yeh security guards . So, it is like history repeats itself, what kinda of life style can some one who has a low paying job offer?....an apartment in dixon huuno a career/job is a just that, whether its driving a cab or being a factory worker like you pointed out, at the end of the day it isnt you who pays his bills or feeds his family so maad garan, so dearest dont be ignorant for the taxi driving could very be a man who carries a degree. The degree i'm going to school for now might not in future be what i use for work, only allah knows what i'll do with it or if i'll find use for it. As for the kind of lifestyle one with such occupation (taxi driver, security guard, factory worker etc) can offer.... ka wardoon

    Mr UGLY

the above post just made the whole topic a joke. neato. three muskateers indeed...
  17. i dont see why you gotta let go of one culture when you can just find a way to blend the two, like someone said (the name slipped my mind) take the good in both and ditch the rest. As for speaking somali, english is the main language spoken at home mother has long since given up her "speak in somali" lectures and now what little i've worked on is flyin out the window... no worries though, a good three months back home will have me speakin like a pro in record time.
  18. dear are you going to tell who said this to you? why they said this?...pretty much the whole story. or is it a common everyday sorta statement you get? ps. i'm not judgemental either.
  19. i feel sick seeing more gay parade pictures in the paper.
  20. so much for cheering on the flames...they went no where this year and those poor oilers didnt even make it to the playoffs as for the wilds...i havent even heard of them, guess they must not have impressed anyone cuz no one covered their story. And for all those Sens fans...a total shame really. 1 win out of 5 games, cry me a river and hang your heads in shame. *lets not even start on the leafs...because we have been keepin a low profile these past years...and well we're jsut bidding our time before makin a come back.* hopefully a better season next year...
  21. May allah give your family the strength to get through this and may He grant your father jennah.
  22. Originally posted by umu zakaria: SA, Here is my recipe for KIMMIS, SUBAAYAD, JABAATI or JABATIS whatever u call it. Ingredients 500g all purpose flour 2 cups of water u must add water gradually and avoid too loose dough. pinch of salt 1 egg(optional a little sugar Method Pour the flour in to a large mixing bowl, add all ingredients and mix well, use all ur strenghs i prefer my hands rather than flour mixers let it lay for about 3 hrs note the more it lays the softer it gets. after 3 or u can opt for 1 or 2 hrs instead, devide the dough in to small 2cm cubes and spread each cube in to a small Kibbis, apply oil and fold it to its orignal shape, cover them with plasic paper and leave it for another 30 minutes, finally heat ur bir canjeero or frying pan and splash little oil, spread the jabatis one by one and cook from both sides turning it regularly using oil as little as possible to reduce fat contents. u must store the cooked jabatis in a tightly closed container. Goes so well with chicken, meat or fish stew and digir also. u can sometimes apply honey and grab a cup of hot shaah. waa quraac fiican. that is my way i hope u will like it if you use hot water it'll save you time and no 'waiting' will be needed as the dough will already be soft.
