  2. Now I am two-faced just because I post a different perspective of the story huh? What should’ve done? Post a link to her face on the forum like some other people here huh? Or maybe you wanted me to post an article from the other camps websites huh? Would it make me a concerned human being perhaps? Don’t preach what you don’t put into practice Horn. You talk about a non-existent unity, a unity you didn’t show one small piece of it when the (Jubba Conflict) started. Who knows I might be wrong and Somaliweyn may well exist, but then again the unity isn’t as strong as you might think it to be, all it takes to obliterate it is a quarrel between two clans. When the conflict starts, all you have is two choices Somaliwyn or Clan allegiance and guess which way Smith and Horn choose
  3. I remember the thread you are referring to Horn as I recall I didn’t deny the authenticity of the story, I simply asked for an alternative source which was right of me to ask in the midst of all of the propaganda circulating these days. This is not an attempt to show my concern for the girl, it’s hardly any attempt to show any kind of feelings towards this girl. This is purely to show the other side of the story/news, for example did the other camp update us about the girl telling the court about her real age? Is it wrong to post the other side of the story/news and not be accused of trying to convince others of something? All I can say about this story is that only Allah knows what really happened to this girl and none of us in this forum can with 100 % certainty say what really happened. About us bombarding the forum Wow! It’s funny you mention this, it was not to long ago you and Smith hade a flood period (Jubba Conflict) You and Smith were trying so hard to hide your hatred towards each other, at the same time trying to convince us of a (non-existent) Somaliweyn.
  4. The Government of Somaliland response to amnesty/African rights Accusation Hargeisa(The Rep)- The government of Somaliland responds to Amnesty accusations regarding the case of Samsam Ahmed Du'ale and Osman Jama Warsame. Somaliland forum urges Appeal Court to release 4 defence lawyers sentenced to 3 year prison . Ministry of Justice in its first reaction against criticism by Amnesty International and African Rights stated that the 2 suspects who re in custody have all the rights as other prisoners and are allowed to be visited by their families, lawyers and human rights organizations and that they will be released if not found guilty . The statement from the ministry of Justice states that Somaliland has no special courts to oppress people and that the judiciary system has no place for forced confession, to be used against suspected people and that those sentenced have the right to appeal to higher courts against any sentence Speaking about the age of Samsam, who claims to be raped while in custody, but whom the government accuses of being suspected of conspiracy and espionage said, " Amnesty and African Rights give her age as 16 and 17 respectively, but that she had told the court that she is 18 years old and as such that she will be treated as a mature and not as an under age' Regarding the beating and torture while in custody the ministry responded saying, " The court sent them for medical investigation and check up and that the doctors have declared that the 2 suspects were not beaten, nor tortured and that Samsam was not raped." The Justice Ministry response also states that Amnesty International and African Rights based their accusation on rumours in the city and statements by individuals who are the enemies of the country and who made condemning the country their business.†The statement reiterated that the propaganda given to the case and the 2 reports will have negative consequences on the girl for traditionally she will be segregated by the community and that clan vengeance might follow such publicity. The ministry in its response stated that the government supports the right for civic society organizations to assist in the implementation of justice, that individuals have the right to assemble and join any social, economic or political organizations. But The statement added "These rights assisted the formation of organizations who have no clear cut obligations and who have misused these rightsâ€. The ministry calls on civic societies to avoid what the ministry referred to as the overuse of these rights, to respect the law of the country and to avoid being an obstacle for the performance of Justice in the country. In conclusion the statement tanks the US, UK, Norway, Sweden as well as UN and other International organizations who assist raising human Rights in the country. Mean while Somaliland Forum, an Intellectual organization in the diaspora in an urgent message to the Appeals Court, requested the immediate release of the 4 defence lawyers, who were sentenced to 3-year prison on November 24/04. Somaliland Forum in its request stated that the Penal Code applied in sentencing the 4 lawyers to be outdated. It added saying, "The suspects should not loose the right to have legal defence, that the sentence against the lawyers is severe and that disciplinary measure would have been sufficient. Somaliland Forum concluded its request by reminding the judiciary that the quick decision taken against the defence have affected the prestige of the country abroad.

Confrontation between Abdillahai Yusuf and Adde Bosaso (Agencies) - Open conflict emerged between the new president of Somalia Abdillahi Yusuf and the recently nominated Puntland militia commander in occupied areas of Somaliland former General Adde Muse Hersi. Four days ago, I was asked by a colleague who just arrived from Zimbabwe,"What is Somaliland's main attraction?" In my mind I knew what he wanted to hear, but I couldn't honestly utter words just to please him. There are no rolling green hills in this semi-arid land, no nearby forests or game parks to experience safari life. There are no cosmopolitan scenes or bustling city life to tread in the evenings. Life is simple in this part of the world, it is still far from being affected by the consumerist plague that exists in many parts of the globe. No thugs that mercilessly rob and beat people on the streets, a common scene in major cities. It is a place where (as a dear friend would put it) mentally deranged individuals traumatized by war are treated humanely. It is a place where men walk holding hands without fear of being labelled as homosexuals, for it doesn't exist in this country's culture. It is the most natural manifestation of brotherhood that bonds male Somalilanders. Its lack of material wealth makes it a place suitable to nurture the more important things in life, relationships. One would learn to come out from the comforts of his private zone because there is no space for privacy in a place where sharing and compassion are the basic rules of engaging with its people. "What is yours is mine and what is mine is yours" a Somali friend once said as he tried to explain his people's concept of collective ownership. It is a place where the rich few are obliged to share its resources with his relatives deprived of economic wealth. People stick together and exercise resilience in times of difficulty. Life in Hargeisa is simple and peaceful. So what is this country's main attraction? Its people. For some of us who have been given a chance to experience Somaliland, it is home. Taste Of Africa
  13. Teen talked in his yearbook about 'taking over Somalia' 19-year-old faces terrorism charges after El Paso arrest Associated Press STANWOOD, WASH. - A recent Stanwood High School graduate charged with trying to send equipment to Islamic militants in Somalia caused a stir when he left a cryptic note next to his senior portrait in the 2004 yearbook. Nineteen-year-old Mark Robert Walker's message: "My plans for world supremacy are in order. They entail taking over Somalia and working outward, but I should not divulge the exact details of my cunning strategy. In case the reader is not present to witness my future heroic death, here is my death poem: ephemeral flash/ of grenade exploding/ all shall pass this world." Stanwood-Camano School District Superintendent Jean Shumate told the FBI about Walker's "senior square" after his Nov. 6 arrest in El Paso. Walker is scheduled to appear at a detention hearing in El Paso on Monday. He is charged with attempting or conspiring to contribute goods or services to a specially designated global terrorist organization, which carries a maximum jail sentence of 10 years and fine of $50,000. A Customs and Border Protection agent arrested Walker at the Paso del Norte Bridge. Walker told federal officials he planned to buy night-vision goggles and bulletproof vests with $2,100 he was carrying, according to a criminal complaint filed in federal court. The complaint says Walker told agents he would give the items to fighters with Ittihad al Islamiya and other groups that want an Islamic government in Somalia. According to court documents, Walker apparently fled to the border after his roommate in Laramie, Wyo., where Walker attended Wyoming Technical College, told police he was using a computer to communicate with terrorist groups on the Internet.

Clearing of the STYX and SA-2 missiles was done in 2002 by DANDEC ( Danish Demining Center) The Russians installed these antiaircraft defences and put surface to air missiles around Hargeisa and Berbera. When they pulled out of the country they cut all the wires to the missiles, but left all the missiles on the launching ramp and in the bunkers. After all these years up to now the missiles have been a constant threat and it has prevented normal air traffic for the Hargeisa Airport and has hindered the expansion of these cities. The (DANDEC) is not there to dismantle all of these arsenals and to clear all the land mines; they are there to instruct them on how to dismantle and to clear all of these land mines. After that the Somaliland government is going to handle mine and ammunitions clearing, and the dismantling of the missiles.
  16. The Sadistic Defilement and Dehumanization of Ms. Mako Was Ordered by Puntland Authorities According to unconfirmed, but reliable reports from sources in Bosaso city, Puntland, Somalia indicate that Ms. Mako, the 18 year old innocent girl from Somaliland who was, at the time, living with her cousin in Bosaso who was recently kidnapped outside her home and taken to a secret location, where she was sadistically gang raped and tortured horribly by more than 20 men comprising of Police Officers and civilians thereby gravely damaging her feminine organs and disfiguring her physically and leaving her lying in a state of comatose, near death situation, and utter helplessness was actually planned, organized, and implemented by the Puntland provincial authorities. The reports further indicate that the plan to kidnap Ms. Mako was sanctioned by the ********* Traditional Elders particularly those who hail from Bosaso and Qardho districts and the order to execute the operation to rape, torture, and dehumanize her was issued by Mr. Mohamed Abdi Hashi, the so called president and new War Lord of Puntland, Somalia and was fully implemented by the Puntland Police Chief and his officers. Other reports go as far as stating that this barbaric, evil, sadistic, and horrific crime could not have happened or taken place without the full knowledge and blessings of Col. Abdullahi Yusuf, the criminal War Lord turned president-elect of Somalia who is still the indirect president of Puntland provincial administration. It is believed by many that nothing goes under his screen or ecapes his knowledge in the general affairs of the people and provincial authorities of Puntland, and that he is actually the one who still calls the shots in this region. However, it is widely believed that some ulterior motives were involved in the execution this gruesome case that clearly falls under the categories of violation of Human Rights, Crimes against Humanity, and probably War Crimes, which was boldly and arrogantly committed against the innocent little Somaliland girl. The motives involved here are believed to be both tribal and political as follows: To avenge for Ms. Samsam, the 17 year old Bosaso girl who is charged with spying and alleged to have been raped and tortured in Hargeisa by the CID whose story now seem to be doubtful after she underwent numerous medical check-ups or as the medical reports indicate. You may recall that, at the time, many of us jumped the gun and seriously assailed the authorities in Hargeisa partly because of the need to condemn and discourage such an ugly and horrible crime to ever take place in our country and partly because of our still simmering anger and disdain against the same CID of Somaliland who have been accused in this case and who earlier conducted themselves unprofessionally when they illegally arrested, intimidated, and issued blatant death threats to the intrepid Jamhuriya Editor of Somaliland. Although the editor was charged and found guilty of committing any crimes and was later was released, we are still angry of the inaction of the government against the manner in which the CID conducted themselves to this day. And I personally apologise for any pains caused to the people and government of Somaliland on this regard. To incite, provoke, and ignite a tribal war between the Puntland province and Somaliland nomadic clans who somewhat coexist in a peaceful manner. However, When this plan failed, the Puntland administration embarked on planning and preparing for the war of aggression in which their confused and rag tag militia recently carried out at Adhi Adheye, Somaliland. To cover-up the truth, pretend he is politically strong or a strong man, and in control of the question of Somaliland in order to hide his lack of support from all of Somalia clans with the exception of his clan, and the failure to establish his authority in Mogadishu and else where in Somalia. To disrupt the peace, security and stability of the peaceful, independent, and democratic Republic of Somaliland and that of the Horn of Africa region with the assumption that the international community will not stand by, while the results of the Somalia Peace Conference goes in the drain and that this mere thought will garner him support and for the illogic request of 20,000 foreign troops to be sent to Somalia, which will never materialize. If the entire War Lords of Somalia plus their Traditional Elders plus their intellectuals or civil society who have all participated at the two year so called Somalia Peace Conference at Nairobi, Kenya and were said to have fully reconciled and that these parties have gone as far as electing him as their president or the president-elect of Somalia, then, why does he want foreign troops to be sent to Somalia? What faction, militia, and War Lords is he afraid of? Or are his intentions to use these troops against the peaceful and democratic Republic of Somaliland? Whatever the case, it is time that the intrepid people of Somaliland to weigh their options carefully, keep their eyes on the ball, avoid the constant tribal provocations of Col. Abdullahi Yusuf, the criminal War Lord turned president-elect of Somalia, and not to right a wrong with a wrong as they have done in this case in regards to the innocent young Somaliland girl. However, this does not mean that we should let them out of the hook and not bring them to justice for the barbaric and sadistic crime suffered by Ms. Mako as well as that of the thousands of other Somaliland women and girls who had been humiliated and injured in the same fashion during the terror reign of the fascist regime of Dictator Siad Bare. These barbarians do not have any moral standing on this issue, they have made a habit or tradition of raping innocent women and young girls, and they should therefore not pretend that they were abhorred and that the reason why they carried out this horrible and shocking crime against Ms. Mako was to revenge for Ms. Samsam whose case has not been proven and pending in the courts. It is also about time that the peaceful and noble people of Somaliland to seriously review their intermarriage policies, to restrict marriage among themselves, and to consider the prohibition of intermarriage with those hostile clans who are adamantly opposed to our cause and existence. It is common knowledge that many of our children have been slaughtered during our long and bitter armed conflict with the fascist regime of Somalia and that many unsuspecting and loving young children have been slaughtered by their maternal uncles and other relatives. Therefore, what happened to Ms. Mako is not a coincidence, but the continuation or perpetuation of the same barbaric crimes, and no more Somaliland children should put into this state of uncertainty, insecurity, and savagery by their parents intermarriages or should ever suffer the same fate their brethren have painfully undergone. On the other hand, the government of Somaliland must take action to rein in Radio Laas Anood. I therefore suggest that the government to monitor carefully the hateful broadcasts of Radio Laas Anood, gather more evidence, and file a war crimes case at the International War Crimes Court at Hague against this radio station for their constant or daily broadcasts of raw tribalism, hate mongering, disinformation, and incitement in its quest to ignite a civil war among the nomadic peoples of the region. Radio Laas Anood’s conduct is unacceptable and dangerous and proven to be similar of that of Hutus of Rwanda: Radio Ntrehamwe who incited the genocide of about a million Tutsi in Rwanda therefore they must be stopped now before they incite similar civil war and genocide in Somaliland. Victory and Liberty for Somaliland, Farah Ali Jama, Ottawa, Canada.

  18. “Britain Will Never Be Part To An Agreement That Will Push Somaliland, Against Its Will, To A Union With Somalia†British Minister For Afr Somaliland.Org/HPA — Hargeisa, Somaliland — 25 October, 2004 The British Minister for African affairs, Mr Chris Mullin, addressed today the two houses of Somaliland Parliament, Guurti and Wakiiladda. In his address, Mr Mullin, who is on a three day visit to Somaliland, told Somaliland Parliamentarians that he is the first British Minister to address the Somaliland parliament; and that the aim of his visit is to reassure the Somaliland people that whatever the outcome of Mbaghati Conference, Somaliland will not be forgotten. “Let me assure you, however, that the British government will never be part to an agreement, which pushes you against your will, into a forced marriage with the South†said Chris Mullin in his address to the Somaliland Parliament. The republic of Somaliland, former British protectorate, entered into a voluntary union with Somalia, former Italian trustee, in 1960. However, after thirty years of union and a bloody civil war, Somaliland reclaimed its sovereignty in 1991, and withdrew from the union it entered with Somalia in 1960. It has been peaceful since then and has a vibrant free market economy. Within the last two years, it has held two successful elections, regional and Presidential; and is expected to hold Parliamentary elections in March next year. Mr Mullin, however, appealed to the Somaliland Parliament and government not to do anything that could jeopardise the fragile peace process of Somalia; while at the same time he encouraged it to enter into bi-lateral negotiations with Somalia, so that, he said, “you can come to a peaceful agreement and live side by sideâ€. After the election of new Somalia President in Kenya, earlier this month, the Somaliland houses of Parliament passed legislation authorising the government the use of military force, if the new Somalia government transgresses its borders. The British Minister praised Somaliland’s road to democracy, and pledged his countries support for the upcoming Parliamentary elections. However, he stressed the importance of free media for a democracy, and the need for independent Radio and Television stations in Somaliland, which are free and accessible to the public to voice their opinions. 19. Ethiopia hands over suspect in Somaliland murders HARGEISA, Somalia, Oct 24 (Reuters) Ethiopia has extradited to Somaliland a man accused of murdering a British couple teaching in the breakaway enclave and of masterminding the killing of another foreigner, an official said today. Richard Eyeington, 62, who was headmaster at the Sheikh Secondary School, and his wife Enid, 61, were shot dead in October last year while watching television in their sitting room at their residence in the school compound. The shooting, following the murder of award-winning Italian aid worker Annalena Tonelli in the same month, shattered the enclave's reputation as a haven of peace in lawless Somalia. Somaliland Interior Minister Ismail Aden Osman said the Ethiopian government extradited Mohamed Ali Esse Yusuf three days ago. ''Mr Yusuf is accused of personally killing the two British teachers, Mr and Mrs Eyeington ... in their home at the Sheikh Secondary School,'' Osman told reporters. He said Yusuf was also accused of organising the killing of a Kenyan-born aid worker in March this year. Osman said Yusuf had fled to the Somali capital Mogadishu and then later emerged in neighbouring country Djibouti. He declined to comment on how Yusuf got to Ethiopia and the subsequent extradition process. Somaliland, which covers the northwest of Somalia, declared independence from the rest of the Horn of Africa country in 1991 but is not internationally recognised.
  20. Congratulations to Somaliland Police Forces The people of Somaliland are sending their deepest congratulations to the Somaliland Police and Investigators for apprehending the terrorist cowards who committed heinous crimes against foreigners in Somaliland. Thank you for job well done. In the last two years, six innocent foreigners, who sacrificed so much to help the people of Somaliland, were murdered by cold-blooded terrorist in execution style while they were watching television in their at home, traveling, or at work helping the people. According to the BBC reporter Ahmed Said Cige from Hargeisa; the Somaliland police have captured the master mind of the terrorist act at Sheikh Secondary Schools where two British citizens; Richard Eyington, 62, and his wife Enid, 61, have been brutally murdered in execution style while they were watching television in their residence. The report indicated that Somaliland police have received assistance from US forces stationed in Djibouti to arrest this murderer in Mogadisho, that the police investigation is close to be completed, and the police will shortly file charges against him and others. This successful operation by Somaliland police and investigators have followed the previous arrest of 5 terrorist in Dhoqoshay (small town in eastern region of Somaliland) hours after they have killed a Kenyan woman and seriously injured a man who is Jerman citizen while traveling on the road between Berbera and Hargeisa. The police have received crucial support from the residents of the town “Dhoqoshay†to successfully take these men into custody few miles before they crossed the border. The people are proud of their hard-working police forces, their accomplishments, and dedication to protect the people and the country. The men and women in the police force put their lives on the line everyday, and police forces must be given the resources, new equipment, and training that is necessary to do their job; which will help them to be better prepared to provide crowd control services, fight terrorism as well as other criminal investigations. 21. There is no way the AU would send 20.000 troops to Somalia, and there isn’t any country in Africa or in the western world that would be able to finance these troops. The newly AU force in Sudan number between 3,500 and 5,000 troops and costs about $220 which EU stands half of the required $221 million budget for. How mush would the 20.000 troops cost? I say in the billions, who is going to pay for it? “NO ONEâ€
  22. Bin Laden is in China This confirms Gordon Thomas, a journalist with contacts in the most important intelligence services. The terrorist had reached an agreement with China, which now negotiates its surrender with Bush. It is his greatest electoral trick. China Set To Negotiate Bin Laden Handover With Bush Translated from El Mundo Gordon Thomas 10/13/04 "El Mundo" -- During the home stretch of the Northamerican elections, Osama bin Laden could prove to be the ace in the sleeve of president Bush. As we speak, Washington is negotiating a highly secretive agreement with Beijing, the Chinese capital, for the eviction of bin Laden from his sanctuary in the turbulent Muslim provinces of China, in the Northwest of the Great Wall nation. More than five million people, many of them fanatic followers of Osama, live in that region, which can be called one of the most volatile regions of Earth. Thousands of them work for the mafias who specialize in the trafficking of humans and drugs to the West. Last summer, Bin Laden sealed an agreement with the authorities in Beijing, in which he was granted asylum in return for his guarantees that the guerilla war of the Muslim Chinese against the Chinese nation would end. Over the years, tens of thousands of troops of the Popular Liberation Armee had been sent to the region with the intent to squash the insurgents. Since the arrival of the Saudi Osama Bin Laden, the region has been relatively quiet, and the Muslims who live there are allowed to continue their trafficking of humans and drugs. However, Bin Laden could now see himself trapped in his refuge, if an extraordinary agreement between Beijing and Washington would come to pass, in which China would hand over to the United States the most wanted terrorist in the world. The capture of Bin Laden would virtually guarantee the reelection of George Bush Jr., as it would confirm to the millions of undecided voters of the U.S. that the war against terrorism was judstified after Bin Laden had authorized the attacks of 9/11 against New York and Washington. "A new administration Bush would present China as its great new ally in the war against terrorism. China would enjoy in Washington the status of a most favored nation with all of its facets. Contracts worth hundreds of millions of dollars would be approved by fast track. The history of human rights violations in China would be ignored," confirmed last week a high-level representative of the Pentagon. He added that only a small number of "members of very high rank" in the Bush administration knew about the plan to "seize Bin Laden in exchange for a special relationship with China." With almost certainty, among them would be the vice-president, Dick Cheney, and the defense secretary, Donald Rumsfeld. Agreeing to speak under anonymity, the functionary offered details of the plan to capture Osama Bin Laden as a means to keep Bush in the White House. He explained that this is not the first time that an American administration has resorted to similar maneuvers during an electoral campaign. Towards the end of the presidency of Jimmy Carter, a secret deal was signed between the then future president of the U.S., Ronald Reagan, and Iran, in which the American diplomats, who had been kidnapped in Teheran, the Capital of Iran, would be freed the very day that Ronald Reagan would be inaugurated to the White House. According to Ari Ben-Menashe, the former national security advisor of the Israeli government of Yitzhak Shamir, " they paid an enormous sum of money to the Ayatollas of Iran." Ben-Menashe affirms that this deal formed a pivotal piece in the negotiations that later became known as Reagan's October surprise. Theresa on the campaign trail Theresa, the wife of the senator and democratic candidate, John Kerry, gave to understand that another October surprise could be imminent. Two weeks ago, she surprised the political advisors of her husband by declaring in public: "I wouldn't be surprised if, prior to the elections, president Bush were to capture Osama." Since then, Mrs. Kerry rejected to further comment on her explosive declaration. However, there are rumors in the intelligence community that both she and her husband had been advised that any further comments concerning an agreement that would include the capture of Bin Laden could comprimise the national security of the U.S. Furthermore, also the Washington analyst, Al Santoli, the national security advisor and Californian Congressman, Dana Rohrabacher, and the editor of the respected bulletin China Monitor, affirmed that "an October surprise wouldn't surprise me in the least." In his first confirmed sighting in many months, the refuge of Bin Laden has been pinpointed by an NSA satellite, one of many that the supersecret U.S. agency utilizes in their search for him. His hideout is located near a lake at the border between China and Pakistan. At the other side of the Zaskar mountains, the white summits that majestically look out over Bin Laden's sanctuary, a detachment of special forces of the Pakistani and U.S. armies are awaiting orders to capture Bin Laden, and move him by plane to Pakistan. Escorted by 50 guerillas During the last six months, Bin Laden has been sighted several times in the mountains and open ranges of the Northwest. American intelligence agents in the region are of the opinion that the Saudi millionaire, accompanied by an escort of 50 guerilla mujaheddin, moved East towards Cachemira, and from there crossed into China. The agents furthermore believe that, previously, Bin Laden held various meetings with high officials of Beijing. He convinced them that he would be capable of obtaining peace in their Muslim provinces. "We know about these meetings," confirmed Mansur Ahmed, police chief of Bandipoor, North of Cachemira. "However, they took place on Chinese territory." Bin Laden is accompanied by Ayan al-Zawahiri, his primary advisor and personal physician (Bin Laden suffers from a serious renal ailment). Al-Zawahiri is a surgeon, educated in Cairo, accused of terrosrism in Egypt, and condemned to death for rebellion. After Bin Laden, he is the second most wanted terrorist world-wide. White House sources reject to comment on this issue publicly. "If the negotiations should fail, this would not be the most suitable moment for the president to be seen directly involved in these negotiations," affirmed one source. It is believed that the possibility for such a deal emerged early this year, after Donald Rumsfeld had met with a delegation of the Chinese government during a visit to the far East. Later, George Tenet, then director of the CIA, requested a viability study for an operation to capture Bin Laden. Tenet was informed that the only possibility would be if they could count on the cooperation of the Chinese. "To what extent that collaboration will occur in the few weeks remaining until the elections, will depend to a good extent on the confidence that Bush can inspire in the Chinese that he will be able to live up to his promises," confirmed the functionary of the Pentagon. posted Thursday, 14 October 2004
