Good questions-I don't think they want a base or face high security threat from Somalia and as for natural resources, nothing is proven in Somalia,
  3. William Hague visits 'world's most failed state' William Hague today called for a stepping up of the fight against Somali-based terrorism as he became the first British foreign secretary to visit the war-torn state for 20 years. His arrival in the capital Mogadishu amid tight security marked the start of a major diplomatic push to bring stability to a country he described as "the world's most failed state". Mr Hague said recent gains by the 10,000-strong African Union force in the country (Amisom) had driven back the radical Islamist group al Shabaab from the capital. But with much of the south of the country still controlled by the organisation, which has links to al Qaida, he said there must be no let-up in the pressure. "We need to step this up. We are not complacent about it," he said. http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/william-hague-visits-worlds-most-failed-state-6298258.html
  4. ^A fact that has been established but what prompted this change in policy? Government alone mightn't responsible a shift in long standing policy.
  5. BBC is reporting as well. http://inagist.com/SkyNewsBreak/164992181164191744/
  6. Brits are throwing their weight around to have everyone there-let's if he goes to the norther regions. I still don't know what prompted Britian to hold this out of the blue conference on Somalia apart from the state goals on the agenda which I believe didn't warrant this meeting.

  8. ^There's always a concern if the production area is close to human habitation whether landscape is arid or lush with green. Toxicity would always concern specially in regards underground streams if there are any. That said, if the question is does the good out weigh the bad, I would yes and any potential oil and minerals should be explored. We can't just continue living in abject poverty, the underlying of the Somali cause. In any case, legitimate questions shouldn't be dismissed and those asking them be 'put in there place'. After all, Somalia belong to all Somalia despite the current fractious nature of our society. MMA....Politics is what changed and brought GO on board.
  9. ^Does that mean you will open the mountain ranges and kick Atom out?..lool

You're not that important dear, go back to your bitter life and let the grown ups worry about the future of Puntland & Somalia. Chimera is the one of the most well meaning nomad on this SOL. His questions about the oil is not out of bitterness and envy. Healthy discussion about this potential wealth should be welcomed.

You sound like inaad share ku leedahay pirate companies-ka CG aan kula kaftamee...ninyahow diin, dhaqan iyo dadnimo midna nooma bannaynayso inaan burcad-badeed taageernaa! The bigger crime is the depletion of our resources and pollution of our seas and lands. Unfortunately, I don't have any shares yet but more legitimate business might have sprung up out of the Bari desert:-)
  13. Somalia has nine years before it officially comes under the UN as required by international law. The Italians from what I understand did suggest Somalia to be ruled by Joint AU/UN commission.
  14. The real pirates are the trawlers emptying the Somali sea and nuclear toxic dumpers.
  15. Amazingly, a city in such bad shape does better than any other place in Somalia.
  16. Oodka...The only person disillusioned here sending smoke signals to that geriatric you called president is you. Thanks God we have NGONGE to calm your nerves nothing worse than oday dharka tuurtay. In any-case, I am not concerned about Khaatumo though seeing it giving you ulcer is fun, my concern is having your militia attack a peaceful town, we could thank God few geeljire are to the job and show your 'ciidank qaranka' the door and we don't have to hear your and jb's alalaaso. As for Khaatumo much like all tribal lands like yours and Puntland, it's not good for Somalia and its leaders I am afraid will join ignominious list.
