  1. You're right! It's not easy to practice your faith fully in a society that sees you different, outsider and may be a threat. I don't blame them though. They have every reason to be suspicious and/or afraid. Not because of your veil or religion but because of what they constantly see in the news. They hear all these negative stuff in the schools, at work, at home and almost every where. They don't know any better and simply take whatever the mainstream media broadcasts literally. I feel sorry for them. Can you image some guy stopping you in the mall asking ****** questions. The other day, a friend of mine was stopped by black guy and simply asked him if was a Muslim, then he said what the hell is wrong with you? Why do you go around and blow yourself up? The guy goes on with nonsense stuff. My friend changed the direction of the debate and told him as Blackman some years ago, they used to lynch you and today they’re lynching you mentally. The guy appeared somewhat old and college educated. Had I met someone like that, I would have asked him if escaped from a mental institution which probably would piss him off. The point is these people are told daily to watchout and be vigilant. It reminds me of an old movie Amos and Andrew. Sorry, off the topic. Regarding the advice of the Sheikh, I don’t know of his intentions but I know lots of Muslim scholars would avoid giving such advice except those progressive/liberal scholars. As always, you can’t judge unless you’re aware of the situation (Waaqic) and I am not in London. But what I don’t understand is his reference to the quran when he said: “He said the Koran justified abandoning the hijab, saying it should help Muslim women be "identified and not molested", but if it led to harassment the ruling was it should not be worn" Where did he get this from?
  2. Dr Zaki Badawi, head of the Muslim College in London and chairman of the Council of Mosques and Imams, issued the advice amid a wave of race attacks. Cajiib.
  3. Somhow the system won't run C:apologize command and Wife 1.0 keeps running Nag Nag 9.5 after I installed Secretary With Short Skirt 3.3. I wonder if I should upgrade to Wife 2.0 or just 4.0 becuase Wife 4.0 does not require the additional software Flower 2.1 and Diamonds 5.0 or those supporting programs such as Clean and Sweep 3.0, Cook It 1.5 and Do Bills 4.2. Any suggestions?
  4. What is SocomII online?
  5. True that. Even if the person is not muslim at all, it must be said that they rest in peace and may the lord have mercy on their souls. Non-Muslim rest in peace??? Is that supposed to duco?
  6. I wonder what's next. Targeted killing? I hope not. I am afraid these terrorism experts on TV keep appraising the methods Israel uses to combat terrorist including targeted assassination, which is against international law (if such law exists). I hope these tactics (Stop & Search, Racial/Religious Profiling) won’t go that far.
  7. Kupigia mbuzi guitar (playing a guitar to a goat)! I didn't know Swahili had good sayings. Expect the word "WEE" with a finger pointed in your face.
  8. Not at all. Infact, my college roommate was an aw-fatiire. Weird people, I tell ya. You wouldn't believe what they do when they ........ Fidel: Jumlada ma dhameystirna. Have not heard "Gacantaada gaacis lama baro."
  9. ARGUMENTS: A woman has the last word in any argument. Anything a man says after that is the beginning of a new argument. FUTURE: A woman worries about the future until she gets a husband. A man never worries about the future until he gets a wife. SUCCESS: A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man. MARRIAGE: A woman marries a man expecting he will change, but he doesn't. A man marries a woman expecting that she won't change and she does. No wonder why they don't understand each other.
  10. Femme Fatale: I agree. Most people ignore the rights/needs of others. They simply choose to care for their own personal desires. Sadly, we belong to such peole.
  11. Anniversary about what? A corruption and mischeif in the land? I see no accomplishment of the state within that 7 years. I think it's more of a CAADIFAD than goals that have been accomplished. The idea of forming a state was great but they miserably failed to better the land and its people. A few weeks ago, we have seen how people are still divided and that qabiil is still strong and rules the land. What's the point of celebration?
  12. I think I answered couple of questions yes which puts in 0-20 points - You live in the suburbs and have never made a trip to the ghetto. Some of the questions were more of stereotype. I bet more suburban whites use these two than blacks. Used the following terms: what-chu-ma-call-it. Used food stamps?
  13. I hope Tony Blair and his administration will take the time to read the letter. I think the family should not have been left in the dark. The police should give them an alternative or a relocation since they are the ones that exposed them to the media. The responsibility falls to the police if God forbid something happens to the family. What can we do as individuals? How can our voice be heard? May be we should consider emailing this letter to the media outlets. Haddad don't give up bro/sis.
  14. So, Ducaqabe, what tribe are you? Fidel, I am reer aw-fatiire. I hope this isn't the first time you hearing it.
  15. I dont know where you've been bro but i have never seen a man being threteaned on account of criticizing another qabil. Are you saying this hasn't happened? There's no such thing as freedom of speech in Somalian culture. You may end up in a fight if you criticize someone else's qabiil in your local restaurent let alone back home. My friend do me a favor and try it at your own risk. Go to Somalia and criticize the warlord/qabiil of the city you're in. Waxaad ka heshid waxba ha iga siin sxb. We are simply addicted to tribalism.
  16. Guulwadoow Siyaad Aabihii Garashada Gaygayagoo is not the national anthem guys. Shame on you! Just kidding. When I was in grading school, kids changed the letter L to S which alters the whole meaning. Some of the kids were punished for saying such words in the presence of the principal/teachers. For those of you that don’t know, the first six were childhood plays that most of us spend lots of time playing. My favorite was TALAC if you know what I mean. Kabteey Bilataa Ha bilato wasn’t bad. You end up hiding with the girl of your interest until the rest of the gang find you. No one seems to get GARIIR. I guess none of you is from Baydhabo. Kan godka dhagaxyada lagu guro waxaan u naqiinay Aay-aay. It’s girls thing. At least in my region. I think some Hal xiraale or Googaa Cadalle would stir up the challenge. Let me start with these. Please add some. I say Googaa, you say Cadalle. 1. Wax aad u jeedo aadna gaari karin? 2. Wax xayawaanku ka xishoodo, ragguna ka xishoon?
  17. Aqas iyo nus. Balaayo meesha ha ka qasho, baqti caleyk. Calm down. There are worest things that happen in the continent than this story. The story mentions that he used to be rich which means that he probably had the resources to support 11 wives. It could be possible that he was the BADROONI of the village and owned lots of livestock. In Africa, if you’re rich, you can possibly do whatever you dream of including marrying 14 & 16 years old girls. Similar things happen in Somalia. You might be surprised to see some of our nomads have 20, 30 or 50+ siblings and not know about them. The sad part is that his son won't listen to him and is taking the same path! Saca hore kan danbe saan qaadkiisuu leeyahay. Reerku cirkey roob ku ogyhiin.

Waalida ma la ila qabaa mise waa kaligey! What if you don't know your DOB? If you were born under geed YAAQ and have no clue what time/day/month/year you were born, then I guess there isn't Life Path number for you. I thought most nomads have no DOB on record since our passport does not document the day & month. Only the year. By the way, I know my DOB and I'm 5 but the description is way off. The only thing that come close to me is; “It is important for you to mix with people of a like mind, and try to avoid those that are too serious and demanding.†God knows how much I hate too serious, demanding & arrogant people.
  20. A would-be rapist sustained injuries to his penis after his victim bit him. Ooch! No doubt he deserves but it hurts. Can you believe the whole village calling her Naagtii ninka goosatay! What a name. This woman should open up a school and teach women self-defence course.
  21. I thought I would be a good idea to have some sort of test in place for those applying Somali citizenship or passport; that's when we get a government. What kind of test would you give to the applicants. Since it's difficult to proof applicants' Somali(ness), I would start with the following to verify. 1. Kuun Kuun Lamina 2. Kabteey Bilataa 3. Dhakac Dhakac 4. Hal Lugeey/Lug ka bood 5. Gariir/Imbiili 6. Baliil/Boojo 7. First Somali men/women died for the country 8. Some names of provinces/cities 9. National anthem 10. Knowledge of brief history of the country, resources. Please add your ideas/test if you will.
  22. What about the likes of Mustafa Kamal Ataturk! There are lots of them even in Somalia.
  23. Polish are supposed to be smarter than that. Comeone!
  24. Zep, Sky, Fidel You guys are joking about it but I wish we nomads were open about tribal jokes. Back home it's a taboo subject that one can be killed for. Can a man criticize any qabiil and not receive a death threat?
