  1. 'Was Saddam Hussein really a bad guy' HAAA!! ***** waalan oo nolosha ka dhacay<--Sadam. How did he help his muslim brothers and sisters? By siding with gaalo and attacking them? He was their little ******* dog for the 8 years he was in war with Iran. They gave him knives and he murdered his mothers with it. They gave him sunn and he used it against his children. There's nothing good about that man, he is even worse than the likes of Bush. Because to Bush the life of one american is worth atleast 30 muslim souls. Kiisnger would never kill one of his own to please the offsprings of ibn Saud. Sadam is a pathetic moron, nothing more, nothing less.

  4. This annoys me, I knew that there were no justice in the world..but does it have to be thrown in my face?? *remember* *to* *breath*. It wouldn't come as a chock if Jordan decided to agree on it. Come on, it wouldn't be the first time the west-installed royal family of Jordan decided to blow off 'pan-arabism' for the sake of $$$. This is the time to proof that history does not necessarily repeat itself. Somehow, I'm very pessimistic about this..
  5. The Somali tradition of secular education is extinct. The schooling that does exist is financed by Arabs, which means Arabic has replaced Somali in school curriculums. This is tragic, especially because writing in Somali was in its infancy when the state collapsed - the standardization of the script having been adopted in 1972 - and Somalia is the only African country with a population numbering in the millions to boast of having one unifying language. This will no longer be the case if Arabic continues to be the medium of instruction in schools. ..this is hilarious! If NF is so concerned of the somali language and it's fate, then maybe he should consider doing his part. His article is on a somali site - but - written in english. And about the 'secular' somali culture (Oh no he didn't jus go there!)..what has it done for us? Obviously, it wasn't a good system. He's just using all of this as a phony excuse to continue with his antisemitism - not very cute
  6. Shia - followers of Ali r.a. . With all due respect, Ali r.a. is long dead, so how relevant is the caliphate issue now year fourteenhundred-something? And you didn't really say (maybe I missed it) exactly h-o-w this effect the foundations of the party? For example, how's the sharia derived? I see that you write 'r.a.' after Abu Baker r.a., does that mean that hadiths froms him are accepted? How about Aisha r.a.? Because all of this must effect the judicial system right? *cunfused*
  7. I honestly dont know. I honestly dont want to know. Eww. My parents are happily divorced. Apparently, most children whose parents are divorced are somewhat traumatized. I guess I am the proof of how wrong that is Infact, I've comed to see divorce as a natural part of life.

  9. Polygamy this..polygamy that.. When there's 50 times as many men as women..let me know..but until then..there's plenty of fish in the sea.
  10. Bambina, can I just say that you are one ill canbaro. You rule!
  11. "Even in the case of Omar when he was challenged by a woman during his khutba on the minbar, he did not deny her. Rather, he admitted that she was right and he was wrong and said: "Everybody is more knowledgeable than Omar." What did she challenge? Jazzaka Alahu Khairun habibti.
  12. Khayr, I was guessing thatwas where you were heading. Introducing sharica should be the goal of every muslim country..but successively, inshAlah. The obsv. good q., even though it pretty much insunuates that africans are not capable of deciding for themselves [is democracy good for African nations?]. In Somalia, where a high percentage of the population are illiterates, democracy will be useless..before an election, how do you get your information? Ppl would probably vote for whatever is in the best interest of the qabiil elders..not necessarally what is their best intrest. But hey..every journey starts with one step.
  13. Cawralo

    Nayaaa!

Naayaa= hey woman. The offending part of 'nayaa' is 'woman'. In a perfect world, being called a woman wouldn't be offensive. In a [male] chauvinistic world it is. Call me Nayaa anytime.
  14. The Nomad, offcourse, there's many good nobel prize receivers. My favourite, Harry Martinson, who also was in in the committee, being one of them. My point is that The Nobel Prize has a very questionable credibility, the most worthy doesn't necessarly get it..but many, many qibla halal writers/scientists in there, offcourse. haha, Sophist anytime
  15. What made me laugh in all of this was Thailands primeminister Shinawatra. He warned that Thailand might bring back it's forces if attacked. All four-hundred and fifty of them lol. Did Powell forget to tell him it's a war going on? The aussies seem to have bailed out on their friend Sam too. Of 2000 soilders, 350 are still in Iraq..lol, what were the americans thinking when they accepted help from Australia anyway. With that contaminated gene pool of theirs, being offsprings of crooks, dishonesty should be in their blood.
  16. Sophist, you have no idea what you've just volunteered to do I'll post all 5000 pages, even Adams would have re-considered, but just for toi. 3D, fictionalising is something you're an expert in ehh Still, you didn't really answer my Q. Make that 16 sec by the way
  17. Intressting, intressting. Since Nur wont tell the outcome..will any of you guys who did tell me? Ameena? help me out
  18. Oh my God! I am a dude!!!
  19. Tripple D, cat fight? Dont worry about that, my semi-pacifist belief pretty much prohibits me from me from acts of that nature. So I'll spare you my 'cat-like' ways. Fadhi ku dirir has never been my thing anyway But do you mind if my 'small mind' would start analizing the "ideas" behind your post? It's an obvious violation against all natural laws, but why let brainiacs have all the fun? Ok, may I say: Spelendid! Excellent! Just perfect that you would start with mentioning the 'nobel prize'. I applause that, because if anything, it only confirms my hypothesis. 'Who define art' as Amiri Baraka said. Not the nobel prize committee, most would agree on that. Which makes me question your sanity. Do you actually belive that nobel prize is anything else than a populist politic award? It's history speaks for it self, Alfred must turn in his grave. Hypocricy at it's best. How else do you explain that VS Naipul got the award? Was it because he was a good writer? Did you know that even Sharon was nominated (peace prize)? Not far fetched, since even Kissinger himself recieved it. Every now and then they might give it to a certain group, only to improve their statistic and put a smug grin on their pale faces. In our capitalist, some what oval world, politics follow the economy. That includes the politics of 'art' as well, even if the word has been raped of every meaning it once might have had. Therefore, it's only fitting that NF might be nominated..with the right timing (the minority-hand out periods) he might actually get it. But where's the artistic honour in that? Secondly..exactly where is credit due? According to you that is. What makes his books commendable? My small mind has a tendency to overlook things every now and then, just like misqoutation seems to be your trademark. By the way, look out for my novel yaah. 'How Cawralo got her guruuf back'..now history will have only you to blame for daring me to commit a horrendous crime againt the very nature of literature.

  21. "but mainly I do write for specific sort of people" So in other words he is willing to sell his identity (with some minor adjustments) for the highest bidder. That's what I was suspecting too. I wonder what drove the poor oday (or waris for that matter) into prostitution of mind. x dozen green men? All respect to that, I too have a thing for green men But he should stop pushing it as far as it goes for Islam. Nabad iyo Caano
  22. Sanka, intressting facts about rapers. Good points on how to fight them too. I went to one of those classes once, one advice, that the intructor said was effient, was to grab 'mine me' and pull until he fainted But what I was wondering was, what was ur sourze? The survey part that is.
  23. Where to start? He's wrongfully been given the title 'male feminist' (hate the phrase  ), so all of the sudden the poor oday gained some fake confidence, because to all non-somalis, he has a deep insight into how a somali woman reasons..what ever  ! I know a lot of somali women, and none of them is anything like 'sholoongo' or 'duniya'. It makes you think "where the heck did he meet somali women like that?" To all of these cad cad's, being against FGM makes you a feminist, what ever  Personally, I'm allergic to any man who even attemps to define 'womankind', I wouldn't even dream of doing it myself, and I am a woman!! He uses his books as an outlet for his mediocre ideas, they aren't bad, but I would expect more from a university teacher. Sometimes he let's his ideas be expressed through some of the charecters, which makes you  He beautifies somali culture to make it seem more accepting towards other africans. Practically everyone I've met seem to think that his books lean more towards a naturalistic nature , which they obviously dont..makes me wonder if he is aware of it himself? BUT, none of the above really matters, what gets under my skin is how he pushes it. I'm not suprised that Salman Rushdie (the very definition of mediocrity) commends him. For example..how is homelessnes (among women) solved in an islamic society? When he used one of the more mediocre charecters in one of his book answer that Q, I could almost see how the cultural imperialists of our time shivered with a borderline sexual content. Just for fun, I looked up him in 'Alex', an encyclopedia of authors, all of the sudden he was describing suppression of women in an islamic society (somali's being islamic, lol). And how he implies that 'ghusl' was to clean yourself from female najs?? Islam is free of the whole 'Eve the wicked sinnes' crap. And the concept of 'awrah' is to protect society from 'female induced chaos'..I guess his old dugsi macalin forgot to mention that men too have awrah. Why what is considered as 'awrah' differs between the gender's is quite understandable even for a mainstream thinker as myself..it should be perfectly clear for someone like him who studied philosofy, which makes me again, wonder, who is he trying to please? Who is he writing for? It sure as hell aint for somalis. It's for middle aged, white 'openminded', 'cultivated' hobby intellectuals who need something 'exotic' to read about and are willing to pay. So in a sence, his way of writing isn't that far away from Waris, our most famous writer. there.
