Profile: Cannibal Armin Meiwes
A woman who knew Meiwes described him as "very childlike"
Before the media dubbed him "The Cannibal of Rotenburg", Armin Meiwes led an outwardly quiet life, described by one woman he befriended as a friendly and sensitive person.
But in the prosecutor's words, the well-spoken 42-year-old computer technician "slaughtered his victim like a piece of livestock and treated him as an object of his fancy".
Meiwes grew up with his mother in a large house in the German town near Kassel.
A former school friend recalls her as a domineering figure who scolded him in public.
Living alone with her son until her death, she constantly intruded, accompanying him on dates and even going on troop outings in the early 1980s when he was serving in the German army.

Meiwes claimed in court that his lonely childhood had led him to create "Franky" - an imaginary brother who listened to him.
At the start of his trial in December, Meiwes said his motive for killing and eating his victim, Bernd Juergen Brandes, was born from a desire for this younger brother he never had - "someone to be part of me".
In eating Mr Brandes, he finally got his "big kick", he told his trial.
According to a psychiatrist who testified at the trial, Professor Georg Stolpman, Meiwes was incapable of showing "warm and tender feelings towards others".
Meiwes insisted throughout the trial that the death had been part of a mutual pact rooted in sado-masochistic homosexual fantasy.
But he said he hoped other people with similar fantasies would seek help before it was too late.
Investigators found Meiwes had been in internet contact with more than 200 people who shared his fantasies while the cannibal himself claimed there were thousands more like him.
Professor Stolpman described Meiwes as "extremely smug and self-assured" and as having a "schizoid personality" - but said he detected no indication of mental illness.

It also proves that Arsene Wenger is, in my opinion, the number one manager right now. If you're talking about head-hunting the top guy in the Premiership, it would have to be the Arsenal boss right now.
The team are just wonderful to watch. To prove my point, remember all the fuss about the suspensions we picked up from the Manchester United game and how it would affect their chances? Well, can anyone remember exactly when those bans were served, because they didn't make the blindest bit of difference! With Reyes now we wouldnt be so thin after all.

Damn and I thought we had the worst weather around here.....Libaax Now I know Im in sunshine state man but you know within acouple of days of snowing, the amount of havoc it caused was horrendous. People where landing on their backs, cars sliding and knockin each other on the motorway and as I was driving on the M11, I looked over to my left and there was a woman in a brand new Audi A8 doing 45 miles per hour with her face up next to her rear view mirror putting on her eyeliner! I looked away for a couple seconds and when I looked back she was halfway over in my lane sliding towards me, still working on that makeup!!!
It scared me (I'm a man) so bad, I dropped my electric shaver, which knocked the donut out of my other hand. In all the confusion of trying to straighten out the car using my knees against the steering wheel, it knocked my cell phone away from my ear which fell into the coffee between my legs, splashed and burned Big Jim and the Twins, ruined the damn phone and……….

I think the chap asked a sincere question and deserved a sincere answer. Now people can we just do the right thing rather than go into territories that you were never asked to talk about. If your dont know then perhaps you can look the other way.

Well I just thought since almost every somali man or woman I meet tends to have some kinda stains on their teeth or rather holes/gaps for the unfortunate ones, I thought some advice on how to keep your teeth intact and look after could be in order here: Below are afew things you can do to keep your teeth.
Your teeth. Keeping them is a good idea.
Oral hygiene and health is an important part of every family's health needs. The care of you and your family's teeth begins with a mother's dairy-rich diet during pregnancy. Once the baby is born, parents should wipe the baby's gums with a clean damp cloth after feeding to avoid baby bottle tooth decay from liquids containing sugar. Mothers with toddlers should take special care to supervise toothbrushing so that children over two use only a tiny dab (about the size of a pea) of paste and that they don't swallow it after brushing. Your children will probably be able to brush without your supervision when they're six or seven years old. In addition to brushing, cleaning between the teeth with dental floss is just as important. The whole family needs to brush twice a day and floss between the teeth every day. This regimen is absolutely necessary to rid the mouth of plaque, which constantly forms on teeth and can harden into calculus (tartar).
If your family is less than diligent in following this oral hygiene regimen any one of you could have periodontal disease (gum disease), which includes gingivitis and various degrees of periodontitis. Gum disease occurs when the tissue around teeth becomes infected and it can cause tooth loss. If you want to keep all your teeth for a bright and lifelong smile stick to the brushing and flossing regimen, as well as a balanced diet and regular dental visits. According to the American Academy of Periodontology and the American Dental Association you should see your dentist about gum disease if you have any of the following:
gums that bleed when you brush your teeth
red, swollen or tender gums
gums that have pulled away from teeth, or teeth that look longer
persistent bad breath
pus between your teeth and gums or spaces between your teeth
loose teeth
a change in the way your teeth fit together when you bite
a change in the fit of partial dentures
Gingivitis, the earliest form of periodontal disease, can be successfully treated without tooth loss if you see your dentist and use proper dental hygiene.
Below are a few tips to keep your family's smiles bright.
Brush your teeth twice a day
Use a soft-bristled brush in good condition
Use a fluoride toothpaste
Floss or use another type of cleaner (special brushes, picks or sticks)
Visit your dentist regularly
Eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks
Look for the BDA/ADA Seal of Acceptance on oral hygiene products
Make sure your children if any are receiving enough fluoride from drinking water and toothpastes

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is certain Spanish international Jose Reyes will fit in nicely with Arsenal's free-flowing attacking style.
The Frenchman feels that the 20-year-old former Sevilla forward's qualities will complement his new team-mates' ability.
"We have a game based on movement, technique and pace," Wenger told Arsenal.com. "Reyes has all that. "He is only 20-years-old and he is already an international. He can play as a striker, on the left or the right. In fact, anywhere as an offensive player.
"At Seville, he has played on his own up front or as a supportive striker. Recently he was playing on the left because they have gone for two tall strikers up front with a lot of crosses coming in."
Wenger had been tracking the player for the last two years and revealed that though he had thought he would not be buying players during the transfer window, injuries to his forward players made him rethink.
"(Sylvain) Wiltord has been out longer than expected, it is difficult to predict how long (Jeremie) Aliadiere will be out and Kanu is at the African Nations Cup," he continued.
"I said that if the right opportunity came along we would take it."

Arsenal are on the verge of breaking their transfer record with a swoop for one of Europe's brightest young talents, 20-year-old Spanish forward Jose Antonio Reyes.
Reyes will arrive at Highbury later this week to undergo a medical, with a view to completing a four-and-a-half-year deal that may be worth up to £20million after terms were agreed with Sevilla.
The one minor problem is that he could arrive with a one-match suspension hanging over him if the ban is transferred from Spain to England.
Then again, as his new manager, Arsene Wenger, joked: 'That just makes me think he has all the qualities to be an Arsenal player!'
Reyes admitted the move had taken place so quickly that it 'seems like a film' as Arsenal made clear their intention not to be muscled out of the transfer market by Manchester United or Chelsea.
Having studiously saved their cash for more than two years since the signings of Francis Jeffers and Giovanni van Bronckhorst for a total around £15million, Wenger has now finally made his move.
The deal is expected to cost Arsenal about £9million up front but, with a complicated bonus system based on appearances, goals and team success, the entire package could rise close to £20million.
And that would comfortably eclipse the Arsenal transfer record of a reported £13million paid for Sylvain Wiltord in 2000.
Wenger had been tracking Reyes for more than a year, having made an initial approach last July, and was initially lining up the talented Spain international for a summer move to Highbury.
But injuries to Wiltord and Jeremie Aliadiere, and Kanu's departure for the African Nations Cup, have stretched resources so that a strikeforce aged just 36 - Quincy Owusu-Abeyie, 17, and David Bentley, 19 - will start the Carling Cup semi-final second leg at Middlesbrough.
Wiltord, Kanu and Dennis Bergkamp are also out of contract this summer, leading Wenger to eclipse United's £12million move for Louis Saha earlier this month with his stealthy move for Reyes.
The Arsenal boss said: 'We have a game based on movement, technique and pace, and he has all of that. He is a good investment as he's 20 and is already an international.
'He can play everywhere, up front, on the left flank or even on the right, like any good offensive player. He can be adaptable and replace everybody, so we'll use him wherever we feel that we need him.
'If we buy a player, it's because we can afford him. When we buy young players, we make the price conditional on achievements, success and all that.'
Reyes' impending arrival at Highbury has left Wenger insisting that there will be no more signings - either this month or in the summer.
That means their initial bid for Feyenoord's Robin van Persie will not be increased, while interest in Jermain Defoe will also be shelved.
'If we buy now, then we don't buy in the summer. If we sign him, we will not buy anybody else,' he stated, with his £20million budget now effectively exhausted.
Reyes, who has won three caps for Spain and scored 21 goals in 84 Primera Liga appearances for Sevilla, is, perhaps crucially, eligible to play in the Champions League for Arsenal.
He was contracted to Sevilla until 2010, but his move has dramatically eased the Spanish club's financial problems.
'I'm the happiest man and the saddest man in the world at the same time,' he said on his personal website.
'I'm leaving the best team in Spain to join the best team in England.
'There is no doubt this is a huge step forward in my career, but I am not forgetting I am leaving the club I love with all of my heart and it has all happened so quickly that it seems like a film.
'I thank God that my sale has fulfilled what I always said - that it has left a good payday for the club and that I am going to spectacularly improve everything.
'I have never been so nervous, and I am remembering a lot of things and a lot of people who have supported me.
'I am upset that I am leaving the fans without saying goodbye, but I hope to return one day and hope they won't forget me.'

THE PLIGHT OF BLACKS IN RUSSIA
Nigger, black monkey etc. These are the common words often hailed at blacks on Moscow’s streets by Russians ranging from, youths who brand themselves as skinheads, hooligans to those who from sheer bravado want to show how able and Russian they are. Included are also adults, drunks and sometimes the honorary babushka. Calling these names is but a lesser aspect of the activities of these individuals or groups of Russians. More offensive and threatening is when they start spitting at their black victims irrespective of the adornment of the individual. Also the mimicking and gesturing at the individual in imitation of a monkey climbing a tree, eating a banana or doing some circus act, is very embarrassing.
Russians are very hospitable amongst many other virtuous attributes. The activities of these rambunctious individuals are shameful and damaging to their image. Thus it is worthwhile to confront this issue with an open and frank approach, also trying individual and collectively to procure the panacea.
The Black American Marine who lost a tooth at the CD market from beatings meted by skinheads was just an example of the plight of Blacks in this country. His case received the celebrated attention of the media and authorities because he happened to be American nothing, which he did to merit that citizenship, likewise his Russian nemesis that also did nothing to merit the Russian nationality except that their parents are Russian. Attacks on Blacks in Moscow and surrounding regions are so rampant that some of the Blacks have came to their sad conclusion through this way.
No Black is safe walking alone in the streets, walking around recreational facilities especially parks, riding the metro, the buses or electrishkas etc. It’s very difficult for a black to encounter a group of youths and pass by without risking being kicked, punched or just spit at while uttering some derogatory remarks about the monkeyness of the black. Since the police and the general public pays no attention to these attacks except if the individual happens to be American or some great country, blacks have virtually remained silent about these attacks. The police have remained nonchalant. Some who exercise patience and sympathy, (though not to the extend of punishing the culprits) will advise that blacks shouldn’t move around alone. It is not an over statement to say that there is no black (African) male who had lived in Moscow for more than six months without harboring a scar, received from an encounter with these Russians.
To conclusively define those who actually inflict or perpetrate such attacks is useless, but amongst the people, some stand out like pedestals and are quickly noticed; Group of boys wearing the brown military fatigues, ornamenting themselves with chains hanging around the waists. They can either be clean-shaven or not, but in any case they constitute a threat to the safety of Africans. Others also adorned themselves in black or blue shirts and jeans or khaki pants, with booths frightfully threatening. These need to be avoided as much as possible. Very difficult to encounter a group of three or four and walk away without limping and bleeding. Wearing their leather jackets with numerous zips and buckles, the public looks at them as just rock fans. These guys though presenting less physical trouble are also threatening. They amongst other things are most gifted with spitting at their foes (blacks).
Objectively looking at the reasons for such attacks and their unhindered continuation, one is tempted to conclude that the white public (foreign and indigenes) are in support for these attacks. By the way are these youths not helping to propagate the white superiority notion?
The white press and voice have remained virtually silent about this issue. Sometimes they make some feeble attempts to caution blacks about some dates which they shouldn’t go out to the streets. Why can’t they condemn such acts out rightly? They condemn the killing of panda bears, sharks and whales yet fellow humans are tortured and killed around them without any condemnation. Isn’t it ridiculous for one human being telling the other not to go out because another human being will beat him because they are not the same color?
Also the fact that these so-called skinheads and hooligans copy their fashion and style from mentors in civilized refined societies like Britain and Germany is worthy of notice.
As already mentioned above, objectively looking at the reasons why dark skin humans are the victims of such barbaric tendencies and actions, it is worthwhile to take into consideration the depraved disposition of these Russians. They like their western counterparts have been exposed to the modern world and its benefits. Through the media, computer, fashion and interactions, they have been exposed to the facilities and comforts of the twenty-first century, yet they remain largely spectators. They watch youths of their own age in the US and Europe ride in slick cars, dress with modern expensive fashion and maintain costly hairstyles. They watch as their western colleagues rent or own cozy apartments while they themselves are crammed together with their parents and sisters in komulkas. They are frustrated and at such direct their anger at the poor darkies who are no better than they are.
At other times they are really proud of their fatherland Russia and can’t understand why some creatures they are having problems believing to be humans are sharing their sun, glitter and glamour. Their pride, the giant metro infrastructure, tall buildings, straight wide streets and beautiful sights are not to be shared with monkeys they protest.
Always, before and during every beating session, these predators never stop calling their victims, monkey. Sometimes they blame their preys for their mishap, sufferings and poor economic, situation which is senseless. These names can be for fun, but they relish calling the name of monkey as if it is more painful than the tortures. Never could a discussion ensue between a black and a Russian without the subject of monkey creeping in. some Russians could be patient the first and second time but finally some day, they will eventually let loose the cat. A Russian girlfriend once asked some black guy why his palms like hers are white, of which he innocently and good-naturedly replied that it is just the pointer to the fact that all humans are the same despite the color of their skins. But he was corrected by the girl that, the reason for the color difference is because like brother monkey, the palms are used to climb trees. More embarrassing considering that it is a girlfriend saying this.
That not withstanding is fanned by TV pictures of Africans. TV documentary programs about Africa, shown in Russia and other countries have always been the same. Half-naked people living in deep forests, in huts nobody could advance reason for their type and existence gnawing at raw meat or doing some early centuries activities like hunting without any feasible weapon. Youths and even adults after watching these films are more convicted that blacks are animals resembling men. In Africa today any reasonable person will quickly notice the civilization that has positioned itself in every country, but to many white people, the notion that Siberia is only snow and bears just sticks forever also as that Africa is crocodiles, giraffes, monkeys and half-baked men. Thus Russian youths could not compromise the fact that apes are dressed like humans and sometimes are handsome. They couldn’t imagine how such beings should be able to posses money as to pay for their tuition and the necessities of life, and even having the effrontery of sparing something for the poor beggar on the street.
All in all, blacks constitute a challenge to the pride and manliness of these Russian youths. The further going out of blacks with Russian women, which they consider the only thing left for them to honor and protect, is aggravatory. No one can deny the fact that the sight of a black boy walking on the streets with a Russian girl is very strange and provoking intense emotions on the part of the Russians, leading to jealousy and hatred. The Russians venerate their women and many have transferred their gender right to these women. It seems that the men have also handed to the women their latter years, because looking at the number of babushkas crawling the streets without dedushkas it is but very easy to conclude towards that direction. Their women mean every thing to them. They provide the men with accommodation, lodging them against the Russian cold. How can they share these precious women with blacks?
Finally it is also worth noting that some of these youths attack blacks to show off. Others fight to test their prowess, since beating a black means conquering strength itself. There is nothing bad with sparring. The question here is why pick upon an unwilling and unprepared partner. The banditry tendencies of these youths have also led them to carry out their attacks on blacks. They attack with the aim of securing some dollars or foreign monies for their selves. Valuables are also not spared. Thus many successful attacks have not only left the victims disfigured and bleeding (if not dead), but also cleared of all money and valuables. It is useless for a black to wear expensive watches and ornaments because sooner or later they are going to be stolen in one of these encounters which are unavoidable.
It sometimes makes sense when these youths attack blacks on the pretext that they are trying to emancipate themselves from the corruption of these blacks and their evil influence on their lives. Though their method of justice as crusaders in this wise is deplorable, there remains some justice in it. Blacks as of late have regrettably taken upon themselves the retail aspect of drug trafficking particularly in Moscow, even though the large question is who is bringing in the drugs. Considering that whichever organization is bringing in these drugs will still somehow acquire means of distribution. Still yet, blacks present themselves as appealing channels for this medium given their noticeable color, desperation and reputation elsewhere. But after the ruble collapse, even the authorities will agree that blacks participation in this trade has dwindled considerably. Therefore, why continue the slaughter.
If the blacks are considered as humans, the white public should try to understand and denounce these attacks. The public should know that their say is very important in combating this social ill. It is quite understood that these youths don’t actually know what they are doing. They need some public and private lectures on the oneness of all humans despite the color. Brotherly love should be preached more consciously and fervently by the Christian churches and organizations which are pouring into the country. The foreign white community showing some interest in the plight of blacks and consequently voicing out their opposition to such treatments will lend more credibility to the voice of the depressed blacks. It has been noticed that whites (foreign and indigenes) know very little about the situation of blacks vis-a-vis this issue. Therefore this is an exhortation to the good nature of the whites, to do something considering that hooliganism is only one of the many problems plaguing blacks in this country, others include, joblessness, police harassment, discriminations, etc. The case of the US marine is but a tip of the iceberg.
In conclusion, blacks are reminded of their legendary strength. They are advised to fight back and be relentless about it, since experience had shown that bullying a bully always brings forth-useful results.

Four out of 10 white people do not want an Asian or black Briton as their neighbour, according to a survey published this week.
The opinion poll found rocketing concern about immigration and asylum combined with ignorance about basic facts about the issue and growing resentment. The Mori survey for Prospect magazine found that 39% of those asked would prefer to live in an area only with people from the same ethnic background. Forty-one per cent of whites and 26% of ethnic minority people surveyed wanted the races to live separately. Over half of all ethnic groups wanted to live in diverse areas.
The poll found older people were most in favour of living apart from other races. Only 40% of people over 55 disagreed with the idea, compared with 64% of 16- to 34-year-olds. Bobby Duffy, research director at Mori, said: "We have overestimated the progress we have made in race and immigration issues. I'm surprised about such a high finding as people are usually reticent because they worry about being judged by the interviewer, so this finding is worrying."
The poll shows that the issue of race and immigration has risen up the list of people's concerns, and is now the third most important, ahead of crime, defence and the economy. The issue is ranked the most important by 29%, behind education on 33% and the NHS on 41%. Ten years ago the figure was below 10%.
Mori said people had a "inflated view of the scale of the issue", with people overestimating the numbers of first generation immigrants by four times the actual amount. Britons think that first generation immigrants comprise 23% of the population, while the real figure is 6%.
"It's a monumental shift in people's concerns," Mr Duffy said. "We've seen economic concerns decline and that seems set to continue, and a rise in concern about public services. The issue of race and immigration threatens to dwarf others."
Almost one in five people believe immigrants and asylum seekers are responsible for a loss of community spirit, though 40% believe people working longer hours is to blame, with more than a third saying that people watching television or using the internet is the reason for a drop in community cohesion.
The survey also exposes simmering resentments felt by a large section of those surveyed, with nearly half believing that other people are unfairly getting priority over them in public services and welfare payments. Of the 45% who believe the welfare state treats them as second class citizens, 39% blame asylum seekers and new immigrants. Surveys 10 years ago showed anxiety about "freeloading" by lone parents and the unemployed, but now asylum seekers are the focus of resentment. Among lower socio-economic classes the feeling they are losing out rises above 50%.
One in five people believes immigrants should get less welfare provisions than British citizens, though there is a marked class difference. Just 12% of the top two socio-economic groups support less welfare for immigrants compared to 29% of the lowest two socio-economic groups. Brother Tony I suggest you re-read the article carefully now. It talks about the Arab social structures and their failures and what could have attributed to that. I think its quite interesting. Keep an open mind......
