  1. Qudhac, So it is ok in la barakiciyo 54,000. an antire city and kill a lot pople in LA. Please stop your crocodile tears. You do not care about Somalia, you want them to be killing each other just like the past 17 years so you can secure recognition. You would say look they are killing each other and we are peaceful and making progress. Unfortunately your false pride got over you and you are happy that a civil is about to start in the North of Somalia. Almost all of you, were jubilant and claimed LA was liberated. Many of us are horrified by what is happening in Mogadishu. I condemn the killing of civilians and want it to stop immediately. There must be a better way to resolve this than tank fire and artilary in the middle of the city. I wish the people use their heads and resolve this peacefully, in the end it is the Somalis that will be the loosers.
  2. Continue with celebration. Maxaase ka dambayn?
  3. Somaliland websites and newspapers are the most tribalist. They should be banned from SOL because they are always using qabiil names. War nimanku ma xishoodaan miyaa.
  4. Camir, Naxar is correct. Here is what happened. A truck was caught at the control leaving Bosaso full of explosives. The truck owner was detained and sent to jail along with his truck. His brother gathered eight other heavily armed individuals in a house in Bosaso boasting that he will free his brother from the jail by force. Once the police found out about this mission, they came to the house to investigate. These shufto opened fire on the police and killed one and wounded three others. The police tried a whole day to have them surrender, they refused. The police then used heavy handed tactics by bombing the house and killing two of the individuals in the house. The rest gave up when they realized the odds against them. Some people turned the issue into a targeted campaign against a certain sub-clan. Out of community harmony, President Cade pardoned these individuals after they have been found guilty of series crime and sentenced to jail terms.
  5. Red, Excellent sugestion but I am afraid, Riyaale admin, having engineered pre-election surprise with lot of help from Xansade, will not easily leave LA. If he leaves peaceful, he will certainly loose the election but if he keeps the war going he will be able to either extend his term or gain popularity. Unfourtunately, it is the case of most Somali leaders, their ambition is more important then the welfare of their people.
  6. 50 million shilin = $5000. Let me see how much it will pay. 10 wasiir/xildhibaan in hotel $30 per day. 17 days.
  7. Great day for the new Graad and great day for Somali traditions. Hanbalyo Ilaahna ha u gargaar, aamiin.
  8. Caamir, What Claahi Yusuf said was in favor of TFG namely only central government owns natural resources. This position is inconsistant with accepted state rights where all over the world each regional state has control of its port, land, natural resources etc and the central government collects their share of taxes. Moreover the TFG and the Puntland state have agreed to share where the TFG gets one third, Puntland state gets one thrrd and locals get one third. We hope the TFG succeeds in it mission to pacify Somalia but the Puntland authorities should not wait for anyone for the development of its resources and people. They could have started their regional state in 1991 rather than 1998 all for elusive national government. Duke, the Talker has nothing positive to say about Puntland I wonder why? Ninku muu iska aamuso ileen faa'iido malaha iska hadal.
  9. Great news. Punltand is moving forward and no one can stop it for their own personal gain. Puntland has shown great patience, while blood is being shed by fools who have no idea of the consequnce of their action. Let us hope wise people can rise to the occation and see the benefit for all in this mining exploation if it is successful. Puntland govt must show that it controls all the land for the benefit of all its people and no one clan can have a veto of where natural resources are explored.
  10. Wind - May be you should think before post or write. What is your beef with Puntland, do you want it in flames? The most peaceful region of all Somalia for 15 years is not going to turn back the clock to discord fortunately.
  11. There is no war but there is a desire for locals where the minerals are being explored to make sure they are not left out whick is sound and reasonable as long as it is peaceful. However, Maakir iyo qurbajooga are eager for war and are busy beating the drums for war which will not affect them directly. There is a very savy and cunning businessman waiting to cash in your donation and get rich quickly. What is there to fight? For goodness sake, there is a desire by the Puntland government for the first time to work for the welfare of its people. So if there is commercial quantities of minerals, who is going to benefit? First the locals because their will be housing, works, security personnel etc. So why oppose something that will benefit you. The economy is in the best shape ever and there is progress. There is a desire by Cadde Muse to make his government transparent. The only obstacle are the clans who want to keep their own corrup ministers and do not want any change. He can not force change but change will come slowly. Awad Asharo, oo dabadhilif u ahaa inta Puntland dhisneyd C/laahi Yusuf lost credibilty when he stated in his BBC interview that he suspect there are no minierals in Majiyahan but their is conspricy to bury posinous waste there. When you have 2000 Km of unguarded sea to dump anything you desire, why pay and take trouble to bury it inland. The man lost it.
  12. Way to go General, you win because your cause is just, which is the reborn of the Somali state. The question I have for others is do you believe in the rebirth of the Somali state? If so then your argument should be how and if not say so. For once tell were you stand. You want Somalia back as a nation or not? It is very clear that there are some who want to keep the status quo for their own personal gain. But sooner or later the Somali state will be back God willing. Peace.
  13. Things look bleak for A/Y & Geedi for eight months but it seems their oponents have no vision nor the desire to change the status quo. If they are able to establish themselves somewhere closed to Mogasdishu peacefully time will be on their side. But without pacifying Mog and making the seat of gov,t there, this govt will be disappear like Qasim,s and Mahd,s before.
  14. Somalidu waxay dhehdaa "Oohintu orgiga ka wayn". I think Unicef is unhappy with how Puntland gov is trying to bring accountability to UN agencies. No body knows where the millions they claim was spent on Puntland goes. There is not a single project, a building a hospital a road they built on all the years. If there is real accountability, then it will be difficult to steal. So they are packing their bags...
  15. Abdulahi Yusuf did everything in his power to undermine Abdiqasim's presidency, although the same has not been shown in Abdulahi's presidency. The first part is true, but the second is definately false. The opposition to A/Y and Geedi's gov is even more intense. People are saying Abdiqasim is the major financier of the opposition and behind the scene manipulator. Carta money made Abdiqasim very rich indeed. Carta failed because of Abdiqasim's rush to Mog instead of going to Baydhabo until Mog is safe for the gov. That was the understanding reached in Djabouti. Moreover he started begining the Mog faction leaders to no vail. The only mandate Abdiqasim's gov had was to pacify Mog and he has the support of the majority of the Somali people. Worse yet he looted millions given to his gov instead of using it to establish his govt. Where are those millionw now, no progress and no security. I think this gov has build on the positive outcome of Carta. Just because we do not like the guy at the top, we are ready to bring down the gov. This gov has five years to work, if it does not others will come and take its place.
  16. Horn, Be reasonable. What is wrong if Uganda and Sudan come as peacekeepers primerly to secure gov building in Mog and start training current militias to become soldiers and policeman. What is wrong if the gov temprarily stays in Baydhabo and Jawhar until Mog. is secure. There is no despute Nog is capital of Somalia and the gov has no choice but to reside in it peacefully. Do not be so naive the Mog Faction leaders would like the gov to come to Mog and make it a hostage just like Abdiqasim's. I think A/Y and Prof. Geedi are correct in making sure they bring real security to Mog. The faction leaders are trying to show they can deliver security now but it is too late and too little. 14 years of anarchy will come to and end and IGAD is determined to bring peace to Somalia. It sad that we Somalis were unwilling to compromise for the sake of our people and yet Africans will bring us peace.
  17. Patriotism has no meaning when those claiming it are infact the ones who destroyed the country in the first place. Of course they do want peace or peacekeepers of any kind whether they be Sudan, Uganda, Nigeria. They are happy with the status quote. We will make peace among ourselves or we will be forced to make peace by IGAD and the AU.
  18. Good news. If every Puntlander in the diaspara pays only $10 or 5 pounds a month toward education fund every child will be granteed an education in the whole country.
  19. Juma, Ilaahay ha u naxariisto aabahaa, aamiin. Your piece above is well articulated position that is reasonable and constuctive unlike your usual one liner bombshells. There is no doubt that the President and the Prime Minister miscalculated on the issue of frontline states troops particularly Ethiopia. It will have been much easer for them to have sat down with Mogadishu cabinet ministers and agreed on major issues such as peacekeeping troops and seat of the government. What I am puzzeled is why there could be no compromise since all the MPs showed majority in electing a government? There are two major differenes that can not be bridged. 1. The government can not become hostage in Mogadishu, the graveyard for all previous govts. 2. Ethiopian troops can not part of the peacekeepers. The success and failure of the government will depend on bridging these two contradictions. Duke, I know you are hoping the government to succeed, but I think it is wise to keep some reservation just in case it ends up like all previous atempts. Somali politics just like Somalis are consistant in being inconsistant. There is a Prophetic saying that you should not love someone soo much for you do not know whether they will become your enemy and you should not hate someone soo much that they may become your beloved and you regret your stand. This does not mean you should not bring us the good news about the progress of the government and your support for it. i think you agree that Juma also be our loyal opposition so that the government is kept in check so as not abuse it's power, el la cyber wresteling, fadhi ku dirir
  20. Folks calm down, stop being paranoid. There is going to be no massacre. The TFG is a unity government. It is not only A/Y, there is an able and smart Prime Minister Prof. Ali Nohamed Geedi who hails from Mogadishu. The cabinet is also diverse and so is the Parliment. This thread frankly serves no purpose. A/Y was elected inspite of his terrible human rights record. You have the right to oppose his policy but do it with integrity otherwise you will loose credibility. Better yet be proactive and come up with a solution of how to disarm Somalia.
  21. Allaha u naxariisto Islaan Maxmaed. A great man of peace and stability.

  23. Suldaanka, The statement praising the bombing of Hargeisa after 15 years is wrong and should be condemned in the strongest language. But can you provide a better link detailing the speech. It doesn't make sense for anyone to speak like that let alone a well known Somali artist Abwaand Sanguib.
