  1. Digital, their recomendations will be taken into consederation. Tone, one can say anything he or she wants, bring more concrete facts my dear lad.
  2. 1. I support the TFG because it is the greatest opportunity the Somali people have had in the past two decades to restoring the republic. It is the only entity which can bring the existing states, Puntland, Somaliland with the southern states in a new federal union. Its members represent the whole Somali clans and it is based on a power sharing structure whic most Somali's agree upon it. It gives power to the unarmed clans or even those who are known as minorities. For example the head of the national armed forces Gen Naji, the deputy speaker of Parliment and various ministers are all from the unarmed clans. It is the greatest hope to getting us out of our long isolation, creation of jobs and gaining foreign direct investment, as well as settling the issues that have become prevelent through out the civil war. 2. The condition would be if the TFG starts to lack leadershio and follow the tune of the mob or popularist policies, as embodiment by Arta.
  3. The perception is the parliment has been dissolved and that there will be no speaker. This what caused their "concern". The parliment is working and will elect our new speaker soon insha Allah. Somalis can not differntiate suggestions and orders.
  4. Great news, the AU is giving the Somali people real suppport.
  5. He has survived, but what about the real leader of the clan courts, Xasan Dahir?

  7. Council conclusions on Somalia 2776th EXTERNAL RELATIONS Council meeting Brussels, 22 January 2007 The Council adopted the following conclusions: "1 The EU believes that a window of opportunity exists for a sustainable solution to Somalia's difficulties. It considers that the current momentum should be seized by all parties in order to reach a durable political settlement that will enable Somalia to achieve lasting peace, development and prosperity. 2. The EU, however, remains concerned by the current situation of the reconciliation process and in particular the impact on it by recent events, including the vote of the Transitional Parliament under state of emergency to remove the Speaker of the Transitional Parliament. The EU urges the resumption of the full functioning of political institutions and civil society, as soon as possible. 3. The EU remains concerned about the humanitarian situation, and the difficulties faced by humanitarian organisations working in Somalia in recent years. Access for relief organizations must not be hampered. The EU urges neighbouring countries to do all they can to help in this regard. The EU will continue to provide humanitarian assistance. It urges all parties to end violence and to respect international law, including human rights and humanitarian law. 4. The Council welcomes past and ongoing efforts aiming at reducing tensions, including those of the African Union (AU), of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) and its chair and of the League of Arab States. 5. The EU recalls its already substantial support for the Transitional Federal Institutions (TFIs), which are now gradually establishing their authority on the whole of Somalia. The EU calls on the TFIs to solve their internal differences and to reach out to all Somalis of good will, in a spirit of national reconciliation. It is of the utmost importance to ensure that all key stakeholders – including clan elders, Islamic leaders, representatives of the business community, civil society and women – are engaged in an inclusive political and institutional process on the basis of the Transitional Federal Charter. The EU calls for the establishment of conditions allowing the Parliament to resume political activities. 6. An inclusive broad based political process will offer the basis for further international support to stabilisation, already authorised in principle by UNSC Resolution 1725. International assistance could support the development and implementation of plans for disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR) and security sector reform (SSR). A stabilisation force would facilitate the functioning of inclusive institutions and the reconciliation process. The EU takes note of the decision of the Peace and Security Council of the AU of 19 January 2007 to authorise the deployment of the AU Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), for a period of six months, and welcomes the current efforts of the AU and member states to identify possible troop providers. 7. The EU stands ready to offer financial support for AMISOM within the framework of a concerted and global international effort stressing the importance of an all-inclusive political dialogue and genuine reconciliation as the basis for stability and the important role of the UN in facilitating longer-term stabilization in Somalia. To this end, the EU is ready to consider positively the scope to provide support through the 15 million EUR from the African Peace Facility for AMISOM as soon as the necessary requirements are met, including authorization by the UN. The EU invites the AU also to explore other possible sources of funding for the continued financing of the stabilisation force. 8. The EU, as Somalia’s biggest aid donor, will continue to provide assistance for reconstruction in Somalia, and to strengthen TFIs capacity to implement the Transitional Federal Charter and engage in SSR and DDR activities on the basis of the National Security Stabilisation Plan. However, a genuine political process of reconciliation and sustainable all-inclusive institutions are essential for reconstruction efforts and the foreseen donor round table to be effective."
  8. ^^^Since Sharif Xasan was ousted, none of us belived you would continue to support this government. However noting that you live in comfort in North America, the problems of the average Somali does not impact you directly. However the majority of Somali's support this government, dont get that part twisted.
  9. ^^^They are still using the logic of IndaCade which was to use words as weapons and then run away when the bullets started flying.
  10. Taako and Duke have proven all of you wrong, what happened to your invincible Afghani's ?
  11. The FT troops are needed to help secure volitile parts of the country while the FG armed forces are being build up from scratch. A national armed forces comprising all the cross sections of Somali society. These troops will stay only for a temporary period of time. They will with the recruiting, training and equiping the new national armed forces.
  12. 4.5 is a bad formula, but one that was inherited from the Arta meeting held in Djibouti and which ushered in the Abdiqasin government. It is flawd and will be replaced by district based parliment in which each district in Somalia will get representatives, at the local parliment, councilors and the federal one. It is a better formula than the 1.0 of the courts.
  13. Red Sea, the weapons came from those left by the clan courts and given to the clans who tunred it over to their former strongmen. Thus Abu Cutaibe's and the Dayniile court guns were handed over to Qaynyare who tunred it over to the TFG. This happened with every group. It will be the turn of the "business" groups next and after that the general public. You do sound desperate though.
  14. ^^^A valid question, but filling the vacume is the most important aspect to securing the country. Aattacks are to be expected for a while. However last week the PM and some cabinet ministers drove from Baidoa to Mogadishu without an incident, the fact that the port and airport of Mogadishu are functioning, that most of the police stations are operating and that 150+ technicals, weapons of various calibre and over 1000 millitia have been turned over to the government.
  15. There is no point deluding ourselves, the time for the restoration of the republic is here.
  16. ^^^Indeed though they have to be bamed for the Darfur tragedy. Somali government has an opportunity to change the landscape of the nation for the better.
