Setting the record straight about Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmad
General Duke replied to Fiqikhayre's topic in Politics
^^^That was agreat peace. He made peace with Aydeed, which saved the whole of Mudug from war. He made peace with Cade Muse, which returned peace and unity to Puntland. He even tried to make peace with the warlords, and clan courts. When he fights he is deadly, but when he makes peace he keeps it. He is a decorated war hero and fought for Somalia in the 1964 and 1977-1978 wars. He also played a key role in the creation of the powerful Puntland state, which covers one third of Somalia. The apparent defeat of both the warlords and the Islamic Courts Union centred in Mogadishu has seen him become the internationally recognized de facto leader of Somalia. -
^^^Its because of the system which we are in now. It will not be fair if someone from another clan replaces Sharif Xasan. In the future they will be able to run for any seat.

The TFG has the legal right, the moral one and the capacity to rule all of Somalia. It has brought all the country bar Somaliland under one rule. Thus our support in the dark days has not been in vain.

Abwan, next time check your facts, the dude is a tinpot dictator with one city under his rule. H einherited it from his Abti and even won an election run by himself. GeelJire, relations can change, Somalia has more land, natural resources and is more startegic than little Djibouti. Mr Gulleh be careful.

Ismaïl Omar Guelleh (Somali: Ismaaciil Cumar Geelle. Arabic: اسماعيل عُمر جليه) (born November 27, 1947 in Dire Dawa, Ethiopia[1]) is the second president of Djibouti. He succeeded his uncle, Hassan Gouled Aptidon, in 1999. Guelleh won the presidential election of April 1999 with 74% of the vote and took office on May 8.[2] In December 2000 he sacked the chief of staff of the National Police Force, Yacin Yabeh, who shortly afterward unsuccessfully attempted a coup.[3] He was the only candidate in the presidential election in Djibouti held on April 8, 2005.[4] Without a challenger, he won 100% of the ballots cast and was sworn in for a second six-year term, which he said will be his last, on May 7.[5]

^^^No one competed with Ismael Omar Gulleh, he ran by himself. If I remmeber. Any how there are no Courts any more, my friend you must be living in your own world.

^^^Saxib, Djibouti's tinpot leader needs to undertsand, that if he keeps playing with Somalias internal affairs, we will hold a reconciliation conference in Mogadishu to help our sister country form a broad based all inclusive government with the JLF, Afar groups and so on. Djibouti is not a utopia by any means.

EU: Council conclusions on Somalia + full support
General Duke replied to General Duke's topic in Politics
I will try to answer your questions, taking into account diplomatic semantics. Question: a. To whom does “all parties” refer? All parties refer to all the major stakeholders in Somalia. These would include women, unarmed clans, armed factions as well as civil society. 2. In conclusion 2 the EU says they are “concerned by the current situation of the reconciliation process” and “urges the resumption of the full functioning of political institutions and civil society, as soon as possible” Questions: a. What is the “reconciliation process”? b. Why is there concern about the current situation of the reconciliation process? c. Why would the resumption of the full functioning of political institutions and civil society help alleviate their concern? a. The reconciliation process is the one that we have been in from the inception of the TFG. b. The concern arises from the fact that there has been heavy fighting, lately and the fact that there is a state of emergency as well as some , change is in the air and many, NGO’s , “Experts” are crying day and night because they have been proven wrong. c. This comes from the emergency laws passed, which they would like to see as being temporary. The EU, being a western entity would like the promotion of democracy and division of power as a prerequisite to support. I would add they will be pleased when the new speaker is elected, thus being democracy in action. 3. In the 5rd conclusion “the EU calls on the TFIs to solve their internal differences and to reach out to all Somalis of good will, in a spirit of national reconciliation” Questions: a. What are the TFIs and what are their “internal differences”? b. Why aren’t the TFIs reaching out to all Somalis of good will? a. The TFI, is the Transitional Federal Institutions, i.e. the government and its branches, parliament executive and judiciary. The internal differences is a misleading assumptions made with regards to the rogue MP’s and former speaker. Again the fact is that the parliament, executive and judiciary are united more so today than at any time. The issue of Sharif and some opposition MP’s is being addressed. b. They have been and have the support of most Somali’s. However they have been opposed by the armed factions, warlords and clan courts for the past two years. A matter which is coming to a conclusion. 4. In the 6th conclusion the EU states that “An inclusive broad based political process will offer the basis for further international support”. Question: a. Isn’t the TFG an “inclusive broad based political process”? If not, what has changed? If the TFG is an “inclusive broad based political process”, why is the EU calling for another one? The TFG is a broad based all inclusive entity, it is working to build local administration in every region taking into account all stakeholders, women groups, elders, religious and local clan leaders. Thus this is what they mean, make sure that all Somali’s play a role in local, state and federal governance of their country. That’s exactly what the TFG is following a broad based political process. I hope that clears up things.. -

ME, Shiekh Sharif is not a member of parliment, his position is filled by Geedi and Jeele who happen to be close kinsmen.

MKA-YOONIS Aden Madoobe would be good for the job but he filled the vacuum of the late Deerow I guess so he's content at the moment with his current job as constitutional minister, I guess although he was the 'original man' that was supported by the SRRC group in the run to the speaker of Parliament but he lost! So shaatiguduud or kishbuur, I would guess! I think it will be more likely Ibraahim kishbuur!

Camir I give all my support to ShatiGudud, the man who helped the TFG in its entire existance. He hails from the region and has the full support of his people. He is also considered to be the man who freed Bay and Bakool from the status of captive society.
