Aaliyyah;888361 wrote: Mr. Xaaji Somaliland declared its so called independence in 1991 right? If as you claimed Buuba (despite being a senior member of the snm faction) was a unionist did he go to hamar in 1991 and opposed Somaliland from the get-go ??.. or was he one of the men la cadhoodey Mr.Tuur ? oo ay hamar danahoodi u aadeen markay ka wayeen hargaisa wixi ay rabeen... Aaaliyaah when the Somalilanders declared independence in 1991 Buuba disagreed with it and resigned from the central committee of the SNM. He moved to saudi arabia left Hargeysa he never supported an independent Somaliland not during the SNM struggle in the 80s not when the Somalilanders declared independence in 1991 and not now.

Soomaaliya oo Q/M u gudbisay Dacwad ka dhan ah Kenya

Jacpher Puntland is an autonomous state allied to the federal government it doesn't come under the jurisdiction of the federal government. I never said Puntland cant be part of the federal republic in order to be part of the federal republic the country needs to turn into a federal republic not just on constitution. I said the President doesn't want another semi autonomous state south of his capital. But he would support a federal state in Jubbaland and he is been supporting a state in Kismayo as long as his government is involved. -

They can ofcourse they can but they should help build the Somali national army and the Somali national institutions, Somalia should not be the united autonomous states of Somalia. There should be one national army but there still can strong police forces in the federal states Somalia today is far from a federal country. Puntland is a semi autonomous state Galmudug is also a semi autonomous state and Jubaland is about to be established. -

NGOGNE no one is talking about unity with Somalia just because they appointed a lady who happens to be from Somaliland this is not something new. The goodwill is still there i think we have better partner in dialogue than all the other previous Presidents of Somalia. But that said the Somaliland government should always be vigilant of what can happen never trust the smiles and the beer xanuuns of the Koonfurians. My opinion is the talks would have not been better if they appointed omaar or buubaa. NGONGE the Koonfurians will always appoint a Somalilander in their cabinets they have been doing that the past 21 years. -

NGONGE not everything is as black and white as it seems President hassan wanted new faces in his government and this lady was just standing out there to be picked, she contesting for the top seat in Somaliland is irrelevant she wasn't forced to be the FM of Somalia. What difference does it make if she was picked or Buubaa was picked the FM would have been some one from Somaliland. So far the message coming from Mogadishu towards Hargeysa - We will talk to Somaliland - We want a healthy union between Somaliland and Somalia - We dont believe in a forced union - Somaliland government is the sole representative of the former British Somaliland protectorate - Of the 10 ministers appointed in Somalia one is from Somaliland that should send u a clear message. -

NGONGE thats not true fawziya might have failed in somaliland politics but if she works for xaasan sheikh and the koonfurians i dont see a problem. Fawziya is not even certain about the whole unity of sl and somalia how harmful can she be. Xassan sheikh so far didnt take any steps towards somaliland that are alarming so far. So far everything is going smoothly hassand and silanyo already had their chit chat. As for kismayo he needs to chill out a bit there he should just make sure the federal state comes under him and not another puntland he should use gen diini and the pm as the face of the govt in those regions. -

He made some good points about how a federal Somalia should be constructed but he also paranoid thinking that there are people out there to get him. Also a very supportive audience there as for you're question i don't think people are against Jubbaland they just don't know what they can expect that's all.

Ethiopia abusing religious freedom of Muslims: US body ADDIS ABABA (Reuters) – A U.S. panel on religious freedom accused the Ethiopian government of trying to tighten control of its Muslim minority amid mass protests, saying it is risking greater destabilisation of the Horn of Africa region. Ethiopia, which has long been seen by the West as a bulwark against Muslim rebels in neighbouring Somalia, says it fears militant Islam is taking root in the country. However, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) accused the government of arresting peaceful Muslim protesters, noting that 29 of them had been charged last month with what the authorities said was “planning to commit terrorist acts”. Ethiopian Muslims, who make up about a third of the population in the majority Christian country, accuse the government of interfering in the highest Muslim affairs body, the Ethiopia Islamic Affairs Supreme Council (EIASC). Thousands of Muslims have staged weekly mosque sit-ins and street protests in Addis Ababa over the past year. “The arrests, terrorism charges and takeover of EIASC signify a troubling escalation in the government’s attempts to control Ethiopia’s Muslim community and provide further evidence of a decline in religious freedom in Ethiopia,” the Commission said in a statement issued on Thursday. Ethiopian officials were unavailable for comment on the statement from the Commission, whose members are appointed by President Barack Obama and senior Congressional Democrats and Republicans. Commission Chairwoman Katrina Lantos Swett called on the U.S. government to raise the issue with Addis Ababa. “USCIRF has found that repressing religious communities in the name of countering extremism leads to more extremism, greater instability, and possibly violence,” she said. “Given Ethiopia’s strategic importance in the Horn of Africa … it is vital that the Ethiopian government end its religious freedom abuses and allow Muslims to practice peacefully their faith as they see fit,” she added. “Otherwise the government’s current policies and practices will lead to greater destabilisation of an already volatile region.” Over the past six years Ethiopia has twice sent troops into Somalia to battle Islamist rebels, including al Shaabab militants, and officials say some of the protesters are bankrolled by Islamist groups in the Middle East. The Commission backed the protesters’ complaints that the government had been trying since last year to impose the apolitical Al Ahbash sect on Ethiopian Muslims. The government has denied this but dozens of Muslims have been arrested since the demonstrations started in 2011. Ethiopia is 63 percent Christian and 34 percent Muslim, according to official figures, with the vast majority of Muslims adhering to the moderate, Sufi version of Islam.

Jacpher its not wrong its just the way things are in Somalia remember how Sh sharif initially opposed the Kenyan invasion. But Abdiweli gaas was for the Kenyan troops in Somalia. Later they both welcomed it together after much pressure from IGAD countries and the IC its a well known fact that PMs and Presidents in Somalia don't share the same views on all issues You can have different thoughts about certain subjects and you can change ur policies no one is saying the prime minister is a clan prime minister or the president is a clan president.
