  7. One more thing, the money for travel is either coming from countries that invite the president, his own or the Un's poltical office in Somalia which sets aside a some money fro travel use by the TFG in its effort to bring Somalia back into the international community.
  8. Bakkie, I disagree. I think there to many pro-"Somaliland" in here. By the way, I am a new comer and maybe asked this question before but why are "Somalilanders" on SOMALIA Online? And to put few things into perspective for you, Somaliland is not a country or an emerging democratic country and by the way how long does it take a country to " Emerge". there is no good news coming from or for that matter any at all let alone the only good news from the whole Horn of Africa. Look what is happening in the state of Somalia, Clannist ****** rule every part of the country. There wars, conflict, death, destruction and shameless, clannist separatist in every hemlet in Somalia. Genetlmen, and shameless separatist, unity is th only way to overcome whats happening. Lets us be realistic and face the real fact on the ground, there can be no Somalia or Somalias until we get rid the criminals both north east and south. These triangles of destruction (xamar, baidhaba and kismayo) and disintegration (Hargeisa, Burco and berbera) must be stoped. The self-determination of the Somali people is sacrocant, and their unity and independence is permanent, irreversable and non-negotiable.

  10. "BAIDOA, Somalia- On April 27, Ethiopia named a new representative...in Hargeisa. April 30, 2006 Members of the Somali federal parliament raised concerns today about the opening of an Ethiopian office in Hargeisa, capital of the unrecognized breakway "Republic of Somaliland." Today's parliamentary meeting opened as scheduled and MPs were supposed to debate on federal and constitutional affairs. But a few MPs opened up an intriguing debate concerning an embassy-like office the Ethiopian government opened in Hargeisa last Thursday. MP Mohamed Abdi Yusuf, who is renown for his anti-Ethiopian rhetoric, suggested that the parliament debate about an issue, which, he said, was part of Ethiopia's plans to destabilize the territorial integrity of the Somali nation. Several other MPs immediately supported MP Mohamed Abdi's controversial move within the parliament hall. Sharif Hassan Sheik Adan, Somalia's parliamentary speaker, told the MPs that Prime Minister Ali Muhammad Gedi would address their concerns tomorrow when parliament convenes. On April 27, Ethiopia named a new representative to head its office in Hargeisa. For years, politicians have accused the Ethiopian regime of aggravating Somalia's civil war by funding and arming the nation's various warlords and factions. Somalia and Ethiopia fought two wars in the past: in 1964, only four years after Somalia regained its independence, and in 1977, when the Somali army militarily defeated its Ethiopian counterpart, only to be saved by Soviet Union assistance." Garowe Online News Ethiopia used to have a envoy (Supposedly there for commercial reasons) in Hargeisa but what MPs where concerned with is that the former envoy's replacement is seasoned diplomat that was Ethiopia's the ambassador to Finland. The purpose of this obscure office that Ethiopia has in Hargeisa should not need a high level representative. Ethiopia's dealing with Somali regions should have alarmed someone a long time ago. Along with this new high level envoy, Ethiopia has other suspicious dealings regions of Somalia, mainly Somali land and punt land. Examples of these include Ethio-Somaliland agreement to allow Ethiopia to Use port Berbera with out the consent of the central government and Ethiopia's commercial agreement with punt land. I recently read that Cadde Muuse is in Addis right now for "Medical reasons" even though he used to go to the UAE and Germany for that. I understand that these regions, according to the constitution, are self governing federal states, but international affairs and commercial agreements are always in the realm of the central government even in federal states. These actions that continually undermine the TFG, even by supposedly friendly states that helped the formation of this government, is why Somalia lacks a central government. Another example is the resent meeting the US had with clan heads in nairobi. It was always suspected that the US assisted clan warlords in the name of fighting terrorism but its open security agreements with clan leaders undermines the central government yet again. President Abdullahi Yusuf was also quoted in his meeting with the Somali Community of London, that the hap-hazard way that aid agencies don't assist drought stricken people in Somalia when there is no rain but come with grains when there is leads to farmers not farming and creates a dependancy. Aid agencies and NGOs, among others such as modern Somali business people, can also be blamed for privatizing the work of government in Somalia instead of helping the government help its people. I for one, am glad that MPs demand where the government stands and what it intends to do about this foreign interference in internal Somali affairs. Maybe, you guys can come with ways that the government can deal with this Axis of Anarchy: Foreign governments, Aid agencies and NGOs.
  11. AYOUB, I am confused as usual. What can I not be serious about? Do you think my criticism is unwarranted? or are you trying to be sarcastic by pointing at my my misspellings? Further yet,do you find my statements so outrageous that you respond "You cannot be serious". My friend, do you see the need to clear? I can not read minds but going assume (something people should do as rarely as possible) that you are trying to be sarcastic. If that is so, than I did mispell when I tried to encourage people to be better writers. yet you are guilty of a creater crime, in my eyes, by being unclear. Clearity, was more important to me than spelling and should be to any writer. Further more, we are not writing essays here. This is a forum were we exchange simple ideas without putting them through any editing process. Whatever the case may be, sarcasm is a cheap way to insult people. attack ideas not people my friend.
  12. I looked at all three articles and like every Somali writing lately, i would recommend that they take few more classes in English composition, style, sentence construction, clarity and privity. I can't honostly imagen someone speaking like that. The most important thing a writer should be concerned with the abiliy of readers to understand their piont or arguement. How can this be done with paragraph long sentances. Unorganized thoughts don't also help us readers. These sentances/paragraphs seemed to be speaking about ten different things at once.
  13. This parliament seems to be the most irrisponsible and counter productive one in somali history. Supposedly, this desicion effects all branchs of the government. These people seem not to have learned from prevous mistakes because hasty disicions like this which are made without the consultation of other branchs of government have been the couse of prevous division. The president is outside the country and we know that xukumadda wants to work from jowhar. This brings me confusion (are members of the Xukuma also members of barlamaan?) that i have not been able to clear up so if any one can clear it up for please do. It was the intention of the government (The president and the cabinet)to base different branchs in different regions to spread governance while the capital is staplized. I for one fail to see any benefits to basing the entire government in that insecure and lack-luster city of baydhaba.
  14. Shame on all you people who propagate this colonial name of "Somaliland" or "Soomaalilayn". First, some people here on the one hand want to post politically offensive titles (using names like Somaliland) yet try to pass it of as if it is not "Political". It is not only political, its offensive. Handreds of thousands of our people, our ancestors, have lost their lives to liberate dhulkayaga from greedy colonizers, both African and Europian, who divided our country into Italian Somaliland (or Italo Somalo), British Somaliland, French Somaliland (Later changed into French Territory of Afars and issas to marginalize the Somali Majority), Eastern Ethiopia (******, Hawd and western reserve) and The Northern Frontier District of kenya. How Sad that some Somalis have now picked were the colonizers have left. Our Ancestors must be turning in their graves because even though they sacreficed everything including their lives, ignorent, clannist and insensetive separatist modern day desendends of these brave people insist on using such sacreligous colonial titles with their slavish attitudes toward former colonizers of Somalia and in the process desacrate the noble intentions of liberating and uniting our people. Certian members have told other members that they can not say a country does not exist simply because they believe so. This is true and I agree with it but fail to understand why they too don't take their own suggistion and not insist on the existance of something that does not exist simply because they believe so. British Somaliland ceased to exist when it got its independance and united with Italian Somaliland to form Somalia, a union that cannot be desolved without the consent of the citizins of somalia to divide their country how ever they see fit, something I doubt will ever happen. More importantly, such a colonial state did not exist to some some of our ancestors, such as the Darwiish, because, among other reasons, the British failed to adhere to and violated the "protection treaties" it signed with Northern Somali clans Such as protecting their lands from other States and illigally occopied lands with wich it had no treaties such as the nugal provence part which today is called sool. Amoung countless and inconsistent reasons for a illigel northern secession, members here cantinue to regorgetate some old two. I have explained the colonial Ties one. The other one is that the union. Shortly put, wither that union was bad or good, get over it. The Government of that era is gone wither is was good or not ( One requirement that members cantinuesly fail to adhere to is that when you debate, you should entertain the possibility that the counter arguement, and their is always one, could be the correct one for with out this there is no need to debate). Whatever happened we must rebuild our house and that can not be done is certain unreasonable members of the family say they will take the roof or foundation elsewere because of past events. Another thing I failed to undersstand is arguement that Somaliland is not a clannistic (NOT tribelist because we have no tribes and Somalis are one tribe) endeaver. British Somaliland was formed with with certian clans. The idea that we should return to such a state is the objective of certain northern clans unhappy with their fair share among other Greator Somalia. I only need to remind people who argue this, as this camp has suggested, that you can not believe something into existance or nonexistance simply because you so. Further more, There is no one majority clan and miniroty clans in the north. No creadable censes has ever been taken to acertain such information. This the problem of southern Somalia and northerners would be wise to stay the probagation of such inflametory misinformation. Lastly, I am a northern Patriot who definds the unity of our people like some other members here who have been the subject ignorent and baseless attacks. Members, at the very least these people deserve your praise and not disdain for definding the unity of our people and country. To other, please is ku xeeshoda and using colonial names for yourselfs.
  15. "everyone knows, that there was Not a snowball chance in hell, that the powers-that-be, at the United Nation Security Council(UNSC) are likely, in this side of eternity, ever to sanction the deployment of the African and other nation's forces into Somalia's failed polity as a United Nation-sanctioned peace-keepers; and also given" "NAIROBI, March 17 (Xinhuanet) -- The United Nations Security Council would reconsider lifting the decade-old arms embargo against Somalia to facilitate the deployment of a regional peacekeeping force in the Horn of Africa country, a top UN envoy said here Friday. Francois Lonseny Fall, the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Somalia, said the UN Security Council was still willing to approve the deployment of peacekeepers to Somalia despite an earlier rejection of a request by the Inter-Governmental Authority on Development (IGAD), peace mediation body, for the lifting last year. The council is ready to lift the arms embargo once a request is received from the African Union. It would consider lifting the arms embargo," Fall said.
