  1. Dhaanta aan caadi ahayn baa habartii azeb loo saaray
  2. ^ Maxaad la dhoolacadayn meeshan Jigjiga la dhahaa ama soo bax weeye ama adaa is toogtay...Shacabkan waa shacab bah-dilan oo xabsi ku jira...xaafad walba waa diwaan gashan tahay nin walbana gadaashiisuu eegaya....waa dad uu Ilay soo ururiyay, caruurta xitaa schooladaa laga soo kaxaystay...kaliya kuwa daacada ka tahay waa axmaarada dhex socota...inta kale farxad qarsoon. Even the homeless people of Addis ababa have not escaped this bizarre North Korean style crying ritual. Horta Universal iyo Tv'ga Itoopiya maxay ku kala duwan yihiin, waaba isku wariye nacalad baa idin ku taala.
  3. A great piece, this should go on the opinion page of Aljazeera as that mediocre one there now from that foolish Harry Verhoeven(Meles Zenawi: The titan who changed Africa) is giving me a sore eye.
  4. People are exaggerating here which report indicates she was attacked by men, I was told she was attacked by a couple of shoe wielding women in the process suffering some bruises. She's fine, move on.
  5. ^Nimco Dareen is a singer and is unimportant to ONLF in its war against the TPLF. blame the TPLF stooge Riyale who ignited the issue at-least the truckers were spared many of enclaves victims did not fare so well in Ethiopia s prisons.
  6. I agree Dareen is not a combatant but she has played a role in the conflict, the attack is unwarranted.Furthermore we shouldn't point fingers early, whether this was an attack as a result of her political affiliation or not is yet to be determined.
  7. ^ why are you asking me? someone or some-people thought it would be ok to do that, I don't agree with it but its not surprising in the political climate she works and makes her living off.
  8. Apophis;860121 wrote: Nairobi maybe full of TPLF's victims but that does not justifying attacking an artists, who for whatever reasons, choose to support a side. And By the way, I remember seeing her perform in a pro-ONLF concert in 2007 does that mean TPLF people had the right to assault her for choosing their opponents? Your logic would allow her to be attacked by either side. ^ We can have different political views on the Somali region but complicity with war crimes and crimes against humanity is not a view but an injustice to the suffering populace. As an artist she has used her capacity to silence the population, creating a false image of the region. This is a political and military conflict....there will be casualties, Dareen has chosen to be with the TPLF in pursuit of wealth serving in the TPLF propaganda bureau .Both sides will undermine each-other and attack each-other in very malicious ways such is the nature of conflict. If she was a neutral artist pursuing her artistic dreams then no one would bother her....but she chose to sing politically charged songs for the ONLF and then for the TPLF.I don't condone this attack as many have said our culture disapproves of such violence towards a women but its not surprising to see her attacked as many will see her as a legitimate target as a result of her affiliation.
  9. There are reports that she was set-up by the Waayaha Cusub(Woyane group) as a result of an ongoing squabble, the attackers were hired.
  10. You reap what you sow....Nairobi is full of people with no limps, rape victims, widows, orphaned children, etc. people who are traumatized and shell-shocked as a result of the treatment they received at the hands of the same regime that employs dareen and her ilk so its not rocket science to understand the dangers that can occur when performing in that location. The Wayaane(wayaha) group was similarly attacked last year. Some are saying the crowd was provoked as a result of a tribute to Meles and collections of money for the regime. She is a TPLF propagandist and will have to answer for her complicity with the crimes her regime is committing. This attack will do good for no one but Dareen has made a target of herself.
  11. ^Cabdi Ilay is a prisoner in Jigjiga with several undiagnosed mental illnesses, he wields no power except that of which is granted to him by his federal tigray superiors or the Generals in Harar and Jigjiga.Farax Macalin is an elected Mp from the constinuency of Lagddheera. Both regions are missing puzzles of Somaliweyn but live in 2 different systems. One is a military/police state the other is a multi-party democracy that has made great strides to reform, there is a big contrast between its past oppressive actions towards Somalis and today(not claiming things are patchy but significantly better).Farax Macalin is not a stooge and anyone with an ear to Kenyan politics would know that.If Kibaki rubbed him wrong he would not hesitate in politically castrating the old man after-all he is with Raila Odinga's ODM.

Waxaana suurto gal ah sida ay sheegeen ragga aadka ugu dhuun duleela arimaha eega ka socda Itoobiya iyo geeridda Males Zenawi, in Abdi Iley ilmadii xalayto uu fasax xagga diinta ah ka helay shaqsiyaad kamid ahaa hadhaagii ururkiii la odhan jiray Al-itixaad, ee dhawaanta isu dhiibay taliska itoobiya. Wareysigan oo cod ah filo mar dhaw. Mohamed Ilays.
  13. Mr Maalim has been linked to secessionists groups in Somalia, raising questions in some quarters on the nature of his relationship and the motive. Last year, some blogs on Somalia were abuzz with speculation that he had been barred from travelling to the US because of his criticism of America's role in the Somali peace effort as well as his links to some groups in the Horn of Africa. But the deputy Speaker, whose constituency neighbour's Somalia, insists that he has been working with what he calls "progressive secularist" forces seeking to stabilise the region. Mr Maalim says that he has no relationship with secessionists and militant outfits such as al-Shabaab, an offshoot of the Islamic Courts Union. "I supported the Islamic Courts Union to hell but I have never been sympathetic to al-Shabaab. They (al-Shabaab) call me an infidel," he told the Sunday Nation in an interview. "Al-Shabaab is a creation of the West."
  14. Wild accusations...Farah Maalim is a diplomat, he never supported secession.I personally saw him in a live audience speech and he said he is willing to go to any corner of Somalia to promote peace visiting Somaliland is not a crime.
  15. Farah Maalim is a man known to speak his mind without fear unlike many of our current crop of leaders. This is certainly not the first time he has been critical of the Ethiopian regime or Meles Zenawi in regards to its abominable human rights record and its operations in Somalia. He is also very critical of the Kenyan intervention in Somalia. This is him back in March criticizing the regime in Addis ababa and Kenya's intervention in Somalia. He's understanding of current regional politics and the dynamics of the regions history is comforting for not many politicians today are willing to give honest opinions and facts.
  16. (Reuters) - An outlawed Ethiopian rebel group said on Tuesday the death of Prime Minister Meles Zenawi could usher in a new era of peace in Ethiopia, but reaffirmed its readiness to fight for self-determination. "The death of the Ethiopian dictator may usher a new era of stability and peace in Ethiopia and in the Horn as a whole," a statement by the ****** National Liberation Front (ONLF), said. "ONLF will also work with any progressive open-minded opposition forces who are ready to recognize the rights for self-determination for all nations and nationalities," it said. (Writing by Richard Lough; Editing by Jon Hemming)
  17. *A test of loyalty, lots of suspicion and tension among the TPLF elite and there puppets.
  18. The defense chief of Ethiopia is also very sick...there falling like flies.
  19. Lol@the videos. Those videos were staged and choreographed as a way to spread propaganda against the ONLF...Its clear your more naive than I previously thought, and if you can dig up videos of ONLF supposedly committing crimes why haven't you looked at the countless documented and unbiased videos and reports that clearly show the crimes of meles and his regime especially against Somalis in the Ocaden region instead of claiming ignorance. Just a little info on the guy who prepared the videos and owns the account, his name is Guleed Casoowe a former propaganda officer for the government .Guess where he is ? in the famous Jail Ocaden. ONLF has invited human rights groups and foriegn journalists to come and visit the region and prepare there own independent assessments, yet the Ethiopian government has banned most NGOs, human rights groups and foreign media networks from the region so who is hiding what?
  20. This guy is an imbecile, I doubt he knows how Meles operated Ethiopia or the many war crimes and crimes against humanity he committed against the peoples of the horn. You must be really ignorant or handicapped to say Meles was not a dictator, or that he accorded rights to people of different regions...stopping hiding behind the fake religious cloak, either declare your ignorance regarding the state of politics in Ethiopia or begin defending your dictator with facts, this if and but and I dont' know is nonsense....Muslims in Addis and various regions used the opportunity of eid to protest against the regime for meddling in the affairs of Muslims and calling for the release of arrested Muslims leaders yet you defend meles with there religion.
  21. Hailemariam Desalegn is a "Wolayta" an ethnic minority from the southern nations, nationalities and peoples region, very different from the Ahmara. The Tigray would not run the risk of handing power to the Ahmara or Oromo in the current climate, Hailemariam Desalegn was one of Meles Zenawis close associates who went up the ranks due to his strong loyalty to Meles Zenawi specifically during an internal split among the TPLF in 2001.He served as a toothless regional president and currently held the positions of Deputy pm and Foreign minister. He was not seen as a threat to TPLF rule largely due to his ethnic background, but it will be interesting to see if he serves with his own policy outlook as acting PM or continues been loyal to his TPLF puppeteers. The news circling is his the choice of the Americans who want to diffuse any fall-out from the death of Meles Zenawi. It could be that this arrangement is similar to the transitional period of 1991-1995 where tamirat layne was the puppet prime-minister of the TPLF until a proper power transfer was prepared.Whatever the outcome the death of Meles Zenawi undoubtedly the brains behind the TPLF will change the political landscape. The demographically dominant Oromo and Ahmara may swoop on this opportunity if there cards fall right and Western nations are pushing for more inclusion a clear threat to the TPLF's complete monopolization of power. The TPLF will have to make some compromises to fend off the current political and economic instability eroding its power. many of TPLFs old guard were ousted by Meles in his consolidation of power and now with his death, the TPLF is vulnerable.
  22. I see a depressed atmosphere of Ethiopian Embassy staff and "selected invitational delegates" in that room lacking the grass-roots youth inspired campaign of Silent Cry. These two or three petty kids who have broken ranks with the rest of the Silent Cry youth are accused of squandering much of the money the campaign raised to help the fleeing victims of the conflict, upon been asked questions as to where this money has gone by there colleagues and community members there scheme quickly crumbled.Having lost the trust and goodwill of the communities that campaigned heavily across many cities, an invitation from Ilay arrived and they quickly jumped on the so-called "peace-caravan" which is notorious for enlisting many other figures with promises of cash and jobs as TPLF/Kilil propagandist. I have spoken to people in Jigjiga, they were heavily guarded by the Ethiopian Military and associated Militia as they toured the region in-order to create a counter to the original Silent Cry production as requested by there TPLF puppet masters(desperate regime). Its quite ironic they want people to believe this selective, one-sided depiction of the region when the Government continues to restrict Independent observers from accessing the region to give there assessments. The conflict in this region has become a sophisticated business network from the Military who receive kickbacks for backing and endorsing Kilil leaders, to the singers and individuals who honey-moon in Jigjiga benefiting from this revenue stream which is why many in this category feel threatened by the concept of peace-talks between the TPLF and ONLF.The TPLF elite will soon realize that the Bank is broke yet the ONLF is still as potent. The "youth" are not represented by these callous individuals which is why they have continued there Silent Cry Campaign, now under the OYSU banner and the auspices of the community in an attempt to tame the independent nature of the campaign which gave access to these rogue elements in the first place to squander the much needed proceeds. They recently held Part 2 of Silent Cry in Sweden and Minnesota.
