It is something that has been bothering me for a while that those who decry Iley's atrocities against their 'people' condone his acts when it is done against 'others'. I know Iley very well. And his adviser -cirro, a former Somalia NSS. They are primitve bunchs for whom clan is everything, or at least they pretend it is everything to them. I was not surprised one bit when I heard they are helping Khaatumo and Galayr. It is about the D connection. Listen, I may not like Somaliland's secession drive. I maynot mind Khaatumo state. But I cannot support Iley's clannish agenda just because it looks in sync with my political preferences. I have objected and denounced Iley when he arrested poor villagers who were labelled as "SNM" two months ago. Laakin waxaa ogahay dad badan oo Iley ku qalqaalinayey inuu u hiiliyo Khaatumo. This is rubbish and nonesense. Iley should stay out of Somalia politics becasue he doesn't beleive in Somalinimo. I wouldn't mind anyone inside Somalia supporting Khaatumo state, but Iley's "hiil qabiil" is every bit shameful. Charity begins at home. Iley is doing cheap politics. Haduu cid qabiil ugu hiilin, dadkiisa uun xansuuqayo for the coins of the Tigres ha u hiiliyo. This ignorant fool! Agreed...well said.

  4. What ungrateful Somalis, Eritrea came to the aid of the ICU and all freedom loving Somalis when the rest of the World silently approved the U.S financed Ethiopian invasion.Half of the current TFG parliament was exiled in Asmara as part of the alliance for the re-liberation of Somalia movement which was headed by Sharif until the Djibouti process.Once in power Sharif and the exiled current TFG leaders decided to forget the help Eritrea extended reading from a new script provided by America and Ethiopia, condemning Eritrea with baseless accusations of supporting Al-Shabab.Until now no concrete evidence linking Eritrea to Al-Shabab beyond the Ethiopian invasion has been provided. Eritrea is a great ally.

  6. ONLF has made inroads into some non-o sections, they even boast a number of divisional commanders and the Central Committee is opening up to other sections as they embrace the struggle despite the slow pace its happening as ONLF edges closer to the gates of Kaaramardha. Some sections may never fully accept the struggle despite there physical geographic presence politically there position is dictated across borders due to ties of kinship, any shift in attitude will come from the political capitals they feel represent them. The citizens of Shinile are a different case I would argue, Ghelle doesn't seem to care about there plight with encroachment from foreign groups in Shinile a major issue and the central government(Woyane) a willing participant coupled with the general repression it leaves much room for ONLF to make further linkage, some collaboration has already occurred which is a great beginning. As the conflict intensifies and the enemy is undressed many of the regions citizens will have a clear picture and in that period tags and labels will have little meaning.
  7. Reeraa is dagaalay, ONLF has nothing to do with it.
  8. The Killer of the last official was captured and he identified himself as a member of the Ethiopian army.If Kenya doesn't curb this infiltration from the Ethiopian intelligence then the ONLF who have so far left the situation to the Kenyan security and judicial apparatuses would have to react and protect its supporters and officials.
  9. The force in Lower Juba will consist of Dhobley/Punt clan militia but will not include Gedo militia’s from the Gedo region. Gandi said Gedo involvement in the effort to take Kismayo would be "horrible" and stated firmly "the Gedo militia can not go to Kismayo." Dhobley militia’s, in cooperation with Gedo militia leaders, might go to Gedo to assist Gedo militia’s against al-Shabaab in that region, but "Gandi" said this would be a last resort because of the long-standing tensions between the two subclans. Its misleading to state such information without providing the reasoning behind the professors assessment. The Jubba regions is predominantly populated by the Dhobley clan and the Gedo clan dominates the Gedo region, Kismayo is cut from the rest of Gedo by hundreds of Kilometers of territory populated by the opposing Dhobley clan.To have opposing clan militias roaming inside each others territory would prove to be a recipe for disaster and only lead to renewed clan fighting which was the very basis of much of the civil wars fighting, this strategy which isolates clan militias to there home regions would prove to be much more successful in the push against Al-Shabab.The lack of cohesiveness among the militias from the two regions is no more exemplified than the recent debacle between Madoobe(Dhobley) and Cabaas(Gedo)where tension was constantly high In Dhoobley until the the latter departed to Gedo recently, the two clan based militia groups were bound to clash and any attack against Shabab further complicated. The demographic of Kismayo has changed many times in its turbulent history and its future administration should be dealt with at a later date(Hence why if Azania is to materialise it will have the largest representation in respect to its diversity) but it can only be accessed by mobilising the Dhobley clans who’s strategic proximity cannot be ignored and I believe the professor is curious to this fact hence the assessment. It is also noteworthy to put the cable into context, the events relate to the Kamboni-Shabab split where the dhobley clan felt discontent at the treatment of Kamboni and the discontent was open to exploit. The Professor did make the eventual decision to merge the militas from Gedo and Dhobley and it only proved to be unsuccessful as they are stagnant in Gedo(El-Wak) where Shabab have defeated them in Busar/Bardhere and remain ineffective beyond dhobley in Jubba. because of clan bickering. The fight against Shabab if it is to be successful should be localised and the occurrence of internal rambling limited, this bottom-up approach is necessary in the nation building process.
  10. Complete lie from Daynille.com as usual reporting with there clan lenses on...there known for there false and unbalanced reporting. A small skirmish between the police force who are from the Ras Kamboni brigade of dhoobley and rogue soldiers who wanted to free other soldiers locked up for setting up a checkpoint.

Those who know this simple fact and chose to do business with Zenawi despite pillaging, rape and genocide by his forces have spoken their mind. They should be judged on their deeds. Whether it's Berbera or Jabouti is beside the point, it's matter of being an accomplice to criminal act. Gobanimo...Enough said!
  12. Jacayl is busy looking out for other peoples "Somalinimo" in the pursuit of rectifying and finding approval for his way of thinking? according to him this "look at him" approach validates his whole philosophy on Somali politics, By pointing out flaws in Somalinimo this helps him somehow.
  13. Waar dhareerka iska du', Berbera or no Berbera waxba ani i yeeli mayso ujeedaydu waa inaan anigu u tashadaa waxsoo saarka dhulkaas ee laakiin adigu waad qiratay waxaad tahay.Ta kale maxaa Berbera yaala, meel nabadaydu taala ma aha? Dijibouti iyo berbera waan diiday ee laakiin riwaayda itoopiya kuu dhigtay inaadan rumeysan baan kuu cadeeyay. Berbera is an impoverished port for the Somali region and a few places in Oromia mainly the Hararge province, a lousy income stream overshadowed by Djibouti. This Berbera is important to Ethiopia is hogwash, the biggest commodity Ethiopia and Somaliland trade is security for Somalilands cooperation against anti-Ethiopian establishment groups they receive certain benefits.
  14. No sxb I'm not sick like you, Djibouti was the planned option and the proffered one by the Ethiopia government and Oil giant Petronas before they pulled out.Berbera is in Somalia, Somaliland is not a recognised state hence with that comes many difficulties furthermore Somaliland has not curbed all its security issues.Any rational person would bet on Djibouti than berbera which is the primary port of Ethiopia already. Petronas paid $80 million in 2007 for the rights to develop the Calub and Hilala gas fields in Ethiopia’s ****** basin, according to the Reporter, an Addis Ababa-based newspaper. The Malaysian company may also build a gas-treatment plant and a gas pipeline to a port in neighboring Djibouti at a cost of $1.9 billion, the newspaper said.
  15. He thought his enclave would be getting a piece of the blood stained oil via export from berbera, such wishful thinking. The proffered export location has always been Djibouti which is stable and much more developed, refineries were scheduled to be built outside the region in Awash&Nazret another example of the economic robbery this regime wishes to enact.
  16. PetroTrans May Face Attack in Ethiopia Oil Search, Group Says. By William Davison - Aug 9, 2011 Petrotrans Co., a Chinese oil exploration company, may face attack in Ethiopia’s restive O'gaden region if it begins operations in the area, a U.S.-based advocacy group said. “We urge all foreign oil companies, especially the Chinese oil and gas company PetroTrans, to refrain from undertaking any oil exploration missions in O'gaden,” the Resolve O'gaden Coalition said in an e-mailed statement today. Ethiopia’s mines ministry signed a deal with PetroTrans for it to explore for deposits and develop proven reserves in the region, the state-owned Ethiopian News Agency said on July 22. Petronas Nasional Bhd sold the assets in October as part of what it said was a “rationalization exercise.” The O'gaden National Liberation Front has been fighting for self-determination in the ethnic Somali region since 1984. In April 2007, the banned rebel group attacked an exploration site operated by China’s Zhongyuan Petroleum Exploration Bureau, killing nine Chinese workers and 65 Ethiopians. “We hope PetroTrans will heed our call and advice before another avoidable catastrophe, like the one in Obole 2007, takes place in O'gaden due to their intransigence which puts profits before human rights,” the coalition said today. Ethiopian Communications Minister Bereket Simon and ONLF spokesman Abdirahman Mahdi didn’t answer their mobiles phones when called by Bloomberg today for comment. A call to PetroTrans’s head office in Hong Kong outside normal business hours wasn’t answered. 17. War Deg Deg ah: ONLF oo Weerartay Ciidan Ethiopian ah iyo Shaqaale China ah oo La Socday. It seems like these companies never learn, they have a warped understanding of the concept of risk.ONLF has sent out countless warnings, the consequences were clear. OTP- War Hada kusoo dhacay qaybta warqabadka ee shabakada ogad'entoday ayaa xaqiijinaya in ay ciidanka jabhada ONLF ay weerar ku qaadeen gawaadhi ay saarnaayeen shaqsiyaad u dhashay wadanka China oo marayay meesha lagu magacaabo War-Yugle oo ka tirsan gobolka Dhagaxbuur. Warar hordhac ah oo aan helayno ayaa sheegaya in ay la socdeen ciidan Ethiopian ah oo galbinayay shaqaalaha u dhashay wadanka China. Wararku waxay intaas ku darayaan in ay shaqaalaha u dhashay wadanka China iyo ciidanka la socday ay soo mareen ilaa laba meelood oo ka tirsan isla gobolka Dhagaxbuur ka hor inta aan la weerarin. wali lama helin inta uu dhanyahay khasaaraha soo gaadhay dadkii saarnaa gawaadhida. 18. A very grim situation starved off attention because of political considerations, the opposition groups must do more to force the situation.
  19. dadna maamul la'aan baa haysa, cidlay ku bakhtiyayaan, qolo calooshu u buuxdana magac baa la daba dhigay.
  20. Xiinow I see no other alternative for the 3 regions at this point in time even if the price of peace is making a few concessions to Kenya(as you claim) its beats the seemingly never ending turmoil. We will wait for a rainy day to make our case against the region for now peace is the objective.

  22. Azania predates farmajo and I doubt his endorsement was ever needed, Farmajo had more pressing issues to deal with in Villa Somalia. As for Kenyan involvement we can go back and forth with it, for the moment this "maamul" is here to stay and from what they achieved in Celwaaq and Dhoobley they can secure more ground and those vacuums will be filled by the maamul we speak of here.Al-shabab is weak in "Jubboyinka", Kismayo may the only centre they can offer strong resistance.
  23. War heedhe dadku gaaja iyo haraad bay u dhimanayaan ee dowlad ha loo dhiso marka hore magac baaska hadii la rabo si dhib yar baa lagu badali karaa.
  24. Wagar... @Farmajo having any clue about this issue the poor chap was more worried about issues in his immediate compound than a "maamul gobleed".If one looks back at the spat between Sharif and Prof.Gandi over the issue of the Siyelow troops there lies the intial tension between Asaniya and the TFG.Prof.Gandi was politically executed on the orders of Ethiopia by Sharif and sought to transfer the Siyelow troops to Mogadishu to extinguish Ethiopian fears, however Pro.Gandi rallied the support of Kenya convincing them of his plans for Jubbaland, Kenya bought the plan and the threat from Ethiopia was reduced. It was political genius on the side of the Professor, he managed to sow disagreement between two long standing regional allies especially on Somali issues.Kenyan Somalis have particularly been supportive of the measure as they are directly affected by the adjacent provinces and wish to see a regional government which can bring them security and further economic and business ties. Kenya and Azania have mutual understandings based on there security concerns, both entities want Al-Shabab exterminated. This is the first time the people of these three regions have had such an extensive effort undertaken to bring them governance, they should take the opportunity and not taint it with conspiracy.
