  1. GD, why all these assasinations of Maakhiri's in Bosasso? Why is the PIS so active in Bosasso and doesnt assasinate anyone in Garowe and Glkacyo?

  3. Agaasimaha Guud Wasaarada Boosaha & Isgaadhsiinta Xasan Cumar Hoori My good friend Hassan Hoori is made Director General of the Ministry of Telecommunications. Thats his field. I expect the National TV, Radio and Governemt newspaper to be of a diffrent level soon.
  4. Because of this issue, a number of donors silenly stopped supporting the security activities of the TFG.
  5. I was told the chair of the drafting committee is a Somali and a Somali chaired the referendum committee. According to my Kenyan friend "Kenya thanks this constitution to the independant and unbiased thinking of the Somali's". Kudos to Somali's in Kenya. Too bad that Sheick Shariif has nothing better to do, http://www.hiiraan.com/news2/2010/aug/somali_president_to_attend_kenya_s_constitution_promulgation.a spx
  6. guys, I am real Somalilander. Not because I am filled with Cuqdad like some people are(Xaaji, Africaown,JB). But this doesnt mean I dont want the best for all Somali's. I do want the best for all. I want Somalia, Somaliland, Djibouti, a Free O-gadenia and NFD to be the best of neighbours. But today the South is burning, the image of the Horn of Africa is one filled with bloody images of the South. This distracts the whole region of real tangible development. Look at the NFD, how its tribalized and effecten by the conflict in the South. Look at O-gadenia, many dont see the human right abuses conducted by Ethiopia, because people say and think, well they are better of than the South. Look at how difficult Somaliland attracts Foreign Direct Investment, just say the word Somali and every possible investor shakes, NO. So this issue of South-Somalia has to be resolved, for the better of the Horn of Africa. So, eventhaught the realities on the ground are one of with no hope on the future of the Horn. But this doesnt mean the thinking about the future has to stop. We need to think about the future of the Horn of Africa, we need to think about the future of the Somali's, we need to think about the future relation of Somaliland, Somalia, Djibhouti , NFD and ******ia. In order to this the issue of the South has to be resolved and I regard the bottom-up approach demonstrated by Puntland as a possible model for other regions in Somalia. I have been saying this for years. And now others are slowly thinking about re-enganging and revitalising their regions bottom-up(Galgaduud, Galmudug, Hiiraan, etc) instead of waiting for a central solution/goverment for Somalia. And this I see as a positive sign for real governanve.
  7. I know the court was right. UDUB has serieuz issue's and this really annoys me. Besides this scandal, the party lacks real structures. The governing bodies are filled with former Ministers, the internal campaigning for the leadership has started(Cawil, Ahmed Yuusuf Yaasin, Warancade are candidates) and it doesnt give much hope. Cawil and Ahmed Yusuf Yaasin have damaged the party. UDUB needs to change. These oldies need to go with pension.
  8. No, Somaliland should not give up on Sool and Sanaag. But the idea above is what I would do if I was Puntland and I want to establish peace and a real federal state.
  9. Sheick Sharif period is almost over. Eventhaught his goverment was called Federal, it was not build nor based on the real idea of Federalism. I think the solution for lasting peace, understanding and security in South-Somalia lies not in a strong central goverment. But in the form of strong, healthy region, where people feel ownership of their own (State) goverment. So that is why I think its time to create the real Federalism in South-Somalia. And Puntland should be in the forefront, as it is the first state established in Somalia. Therefore Puntland should try to create a real dialogue between the newly established States and then establish an Union of States. - Invite the relevant representative with authority on the ground who are trying to establish local states from Makhiir, SSC, Galgaduud, Galmudug, Xiin and Xeeb, Hiiraan, Jubba. -These 'States' dont have real authority yet. But Puntland can use the momentum to support them and this would give these States a boost. -Talk to eachother on equal playing field (That's what SSC and Maakhir are actually asking for). -This would give Puntland enormous weight , because its the biggest and most established authority. And the first Friend of these entities and not their enemy (like it's now). -Puntland should throw its behind these entities, create a dialogue, make peace with eachother, promise eachoher support against Al Shabaab (All for one, One for All). -All these local goverments would draw and sign to Union of Somali States seeking Unity . -Establish Garowe as the seat and meeting place for all States. So that even the States who are not established can work from Garowe to establish authority in their own State. And they can come over from the diaspora to work on the 'liberation' of their States. Do you know how many offices and embassies these States would get, led by their respective diaspora. -This would find support from UN, AU, EU,ngo's, donors . They would establish offices in Garowe. -Puntland would get more security from Al Shabaab, because it has all these entities opering in their State. And it would have the support of all the States in the South. And it support(Galmudug, Galguduud,Hiiraan)) its first defence against Al-Shabaab. -And the Union of Somali States is born, with Puntland as the Primus inter pares. - And then it would really be, ku dayo Puntland not Puntland wee ku dayataa That is what I would do if I was in charge of Puntland.
  10. You should also read 'Becoming Somaliland; by Mark Bradbury. He spend a great deal of time in Sanaag and has followed closely the peace process in Erigaco begin of '90. And he describes the shirs that book place there in detail. Its very interesting.
  11. I have created a seperate new thread for this topic. If I was Puntland, I would try to create a real dialogue between the newly established States and then establish an Union of States. -Puntland should admit that it's basicly a one sub-clan entity. - Invite the relevant representative with authority on the ground who are trying to establish local states in Makhiir, SSC, Galgaduud, Galmudug, Xiin and Xeeb, Hiiraan, Jubba. 12. So to summarize, your saying Shariif should: -Sell the message that the Somali race and their whole being is in danger -Point to Al Shabaab as enemy of the Somali's -Use the momentum to create hope for alternative, -Convince on urgency so people act and give you support -Emphasize common sense -Create commonalities -Seek unity by differentiate and distancing yourself from others who stand by and do not act(SL, PL, etc) Ceesha calaa. This is what you call a Political Strategy!
  13. Supreme Commander. Some people do love titles and ranks, he Duke. Duke, how many high ranking officers do you have in the family (Generals, Captains, etc)?
  14. Not in my hood sister. We fight our enemies like real men, but we respect the deceased and the defeated. We dont come secretely come from behind, we dont shoot people when they are sleeping, or in prison, or when they give up, we dont blow our selves up, we dont attack little helpless villagers, kill innocent women and children, we respect our enemy and his posessions. And we respect agreements made. We give the dead an Islamic burial. For we wish to get the same treatment if its the other way around. As long as people will keep saying, that all Somali's(the innocent and guilty) are the same and this is normal for Somali's. Then dont be suprised when some will never rise up to those standards set and will reset them in negative way.
  15. I came across this on Wikipedia. Does anyone know what the SSNM is? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Conference_on_National_Reconciliation_in_Somalia Conference on National Reconciliation in Somalia The Conference on National Reconciliation in Somalia was an attempt to end the Somali Civil War. It led to the signing of the Addis Ababa Agreement (1993), on March 27, 1993. It was proceeded by the Informal Preparatory Meeting on National Reconciliation. 16. Sakhar, why do you blame ONLF for not making peace with Ethiopia, like this WSLF did? Dont you understand that one needs freedom in order to make peace? And that there cant be peace without freedom.
  17. Originally posted by Jacaylbaro: Well, the court will decide about the issue. Well the court decided the closure of Haatuf and the arrest of Ina Xaashi/Gaboose in the past. Their indepedance is questioned.
  18. Puntland needs a new hobby, now that the TFG has failed and there is nothing to gain from it. Lets hope they find a new hobby soon. hadii kale tulooyinka yar yar iyo reer myi ayee ku mashquuliyaan.

  20. In 4 months its over. The TFG was the 15th iniative to bring Peace and governance to Somalia. And it has failed. Nassir, why dont you tell these Koonfurions how the people and the many clans living in Erigavo and Sanaag made peace in the begin of '90 and have maintained that peace all this time. Without any donors and western support.

  23. Very good of Silaanyo to stand up against those Xabashi's.
  24. TFG has failed. It only controls a few buildings. There is only 4 months left till the mandate of the TFG finishes. The international community(EU, USA) are not willing to finance any extension after this period. The AU lacks the funding to finance the foreign troops and the TFG without western support. Even the increase of AU troops couldnt be financed. There seems to be no dialogue between TFG and AS. That can give to peace negotiation. Shariif knows this, that is why he is making the best of his remaining period and travelling and collecting pocket money for himself. What should be done after the TFG? 1. Extend mandate of TFG with less budget and elect new President and PM. 2. Another Reconciliation Conference. 3. Every region or profince tries to establish own regional goverment and secure own region.
