  1. Thank you Brother Maakhir for posting Mr. Hirad's Piece. It is a very thoughtful and and elonquently presented article of the benefits of Somali Unity Vs. secession. It brings out a lot of the propaganda and falshood spread by our fellow secesionists. It is remarkable piece and I certainly enjoyed reading it. I do not think for a moment that Mr. Red Sea has actually read the article. Because, if he has read it he would not have accused the author of clannism. The simple cold fact is there is a real debate among the northerners regarding the unity of our nation, and that has nothing to do with clannism. A word of advice for Mr. Red Sea is to respect the forum and participate in the on going discussion in a civil manner or to keep his mouth shut. Duco Qabe

  3. The current problem of the Somalis these days is the leadership deficit syndrome that the entire nation is suffering from. We have to thank the authors of this article for shedding light at least partially on some of the issues involved in this so called Puntland minerals deal. In my opinion the problem is not whether we exploit the natural resources of our nation but how utilize it in a fair and equitable manner that benefits the nation with out destroying the environment. Definitely Adde's regime which is so far the most corrupt administration that Puntland had since its inception is not the right admin to trust the job of exploiting our natural resources with. The authors showed clearly the incompetence of Adde Musse's aministration and the companies involved who are nothing else but swindlers who have come to loot our resources. Similar deals were also signed with the similarly corrupt and incompetent administration of Somaliland. Let us hope that we will come out of this with minimum damage and look forward to when our nation gets back on its feet. Duca Qabe

  5. Maakhir: I have read all the articles on the subject that was mainly posted on Wardheernews by the various Somali and non Somali authors. I certainly like Mr. Hirad who not only writes very well but eloquently presents the flaws in the argument of the secessionists and their foreign supporters. However, he was not the first who responded to Mr. Bryden or the other fellas who are leaving no stone unturned to dismantle our country. I believe Mr. Oogle was the first who responded to the choir led by Mr. Bryden in his article on Somali Unity published also at Wardheernews. That article I believe triggered the excellent rebuttals by Hirad and others on the lies and propaganda spread by the secessionists and their supporters. In any case I enjoy reading Mr. Hirad’s writings. He is definitely a good debater and I believe the right side on this issue. I was following this debate closely, because I think the northerners who are for united Somalia are fighting back, at least for now and I happen share their view. United Somalia is the best option for both the Northerners as well our compatriots from the South. As you probably know they (those who are for the unity of Somalia) have been absent from the scene since 1991. The secessionists were in power for the past 16 years and they have nothing to show in terms of progress and have obviously failed. All they have mastered is how to heckle those who have different view from theirs. They failed miserably even to maintain the infrastructure of Northern Somalia inherited from the previous governments of Somalia. Just look at the current condition of the public service in Somaliland. It is an absolute failure. Of course the people have done their part, but what did the successive governments completely composed of secessionists done for the north. Absolutely nothing.
  6. We should thank the man from the old royalty of West Africa for bringing this to our attention. I have read all the articles concerned. I think Mr. Hirad has done a good job in his response to the good doctor from South Africa. Dr. Jzhasby makes lots of errors which are probably due to his lack of knowledge of the issues, history and the people of the North. To begin with his main assumption that all the citizens of the north have signed up to the separation issue is faulty. What made it more interesting is the fact that Mr. Hirad and Ali Abdullah who are both from the concerned region did a splendid job in correcting the misrepresentations made by the good Doctor and I must say that they have tackled their task flawlessly and thoroughly. As to the other fellows, including Mr. Odweyne from this forum, they simply failed, because they were trying to defend the indefensible. In any case I think it is a good debate that those of us from the North should have started long ago. However, it is never late and I am glad it has started now. Thank you Mr. Munsa. Duco Qabe
  7. The AU and the UN or the Arab League for that matter are international organizations. They do not recognize a country on their own. So whether Somaliland is recognized or not depends on the member states not on the international organizations. In the case of the AU it needs the recognition of a majority of the member states to approve if such a motion is tabled. As far as the AU mission report which we were told is favorable to Somaliland by non other than one of the so called foreign pens working their best to dismantle our nation, while they fight to the end for the unity of their countries is said to be bogus. Many people requested that report from the AU secretariat and were told that no such report exists. So if the secessionists have the original report of the AU, not what was written by Iqbal Jzhasby on the Somali websites such as Wardheernews let them share with the public or stop spreading those lies. For further info on this subject read the article entitled “The Blind Leading the Blind†By Ali Guled which was published on the official site of Kulmiye Party (http://kulmiye.com/news.asp?p=03022600&cat=oa). 9. Dream on brother. These are the same people who would not flinch telling you that Somaliland is prosperous. Do you know the entire budget of this so called jewel which is actually a mirage to me is less than 25 million dollars? And now this fella is comaparing the ragtag militia of the former NSS operative to many African armies! Dont you sometimes get amused by these people? I would not be suprised if we hear next Somaliland being compared to the U.K. Duco Qabe
  10. My Dearest Mansa Mussa: Let me suggest to the old dude from Mali, not worry about the new age Goebels of today. Our comaptriots who are for are trying to dismantle our great nation do not shy away from telling lies. They will go to any length to sell their petty project to the world at any cost. They are the new followers of the Minister of Propaganda of the Nazi regime. They defineitely subscribe to his ideals: If you repeat a lie over and over again, it will ultimately become the truth. That is thier motto. The world knows better. Ultimately the truth will come out and the xenophobes will be outed by our galant people in some of the strongholds of the secessionists who were duped. Their project is already unravelling and I give them few more months. So my freind let Yahoo's continuo to shout from the top of their heads. Duco Qabe
  11. An excellent editorial from Wardheernews as always. It is actually in the ONLF's interest to listen to reason or remain in their clannish cave. Duco Qabe
  12. I am really amazed at these Yahoo’s who claim to speak for Somaliland! Don’t you sometimes wonder who called them to action? When would they realize that they represent only one prevailing views in Somaliland. Please stop that nonsense and speak for yourselves. Duco Qabe
  13. Friends: Without going thru Odweyne's long but short on substance rhetoric let me just say at least we agree that there are two main political views in the the former British Somaliland: One for a united Somalia and the other for the dismemberment of the nation. I certainly belong to the former group. Simply because that is the better option for every one. As to the claim that those of us who are for united Somalia are a minority in the North, I honestly do not get it. As far as I know there is no credible referendum done in Somaliland so far to test who are more numerous: the unionists or the secessionists. So in my opinion anybody who claims otherwise is just spreading hogwash. As to other clannish issues you raised I do not bother to answer for I detest clannism and what it did to Somalia. But if one needs to find out who is more clannish all you need to do is to go online and browse for few minutes the so called Somaliland websites and judge it for yourself. I guarantee that you will be surprised with how much hypocrisy and hatred are being preached in these so called news sites. Regrettably, that is what the secessionists call free media, but obviously they are not interested in telling the truth. Suffice it to say that their poster boy is Ina Cali Waraabe, the Neo-Nazi who would make Hitler and Mussolini angels from heaven. Salaam and have a nice weekend every body. 14. Dear Mr. Saaxil: Of course Odweyne and his cohorts are blind and selective in their memories. They talk as if the entire people of Somaliland/Northerners are monolithic in their political views and support the secession. But as we all know the facts on the ground state otherwise. They discount the views of the people of Sool, Eastern and Southern Sanaag regions and the many others in the rest of the territory (like me) who disagree with their narrow political agenda. They resort to name calling when confronted with facts. They rewrite history and make it conform to their virtual and imaginary world. To them the history of that part of the world starts from 1980. So brother I would not loose a wink of sleep as to how Odweyne or any of his likeminded friends defines who a Somalilander is. I would let them continue building castles in the sky and dream on. _______ Sir ma qabe Allaa u sahan ah.
  15. I must thank Caamir for posting this very interesting interview. We should all be proud of the accomplishments of the Fatah brothers. They are role models for the new Somali generation who are growing up in the west. These youth are unfortunately exposed to the extremist views and sectarianism of the likes of Odweyne day in and day out. We should all cherish the fact that we have scientists, scholars, poets, doctors, engineers and many other successful individuals in our mist who are contributing to the betterment of life and wellbeing of the society that they live in. Wardheernews has done a great job. Unlike the unscrupulous yellow media that currently dominate Somali journalism Wardheernews educates and tries to bring out the great values of our people. Unfortunately I must admit that there are none in Wardheernew’s league among the so called Somali free media. The overwhelming majority of the Somali websites are truly vile and sadly only spread hate. As Saaxil said it Oodweyne has nothing to say here, but has plentifull when it comes to sectarian politics.
