Talking of kids, got to visit some secondary schools this week. The one nearest our house got a thumbs up from OFSTED but the leader of my resident gang argues that she must visit and inspect all the local schools before making up her mind (even though she confesses that the said school is her favourite). "I don't want to make a decision I'll regret later" she says "You're only ten, dear. You still have a lifetime of regrets ahead of you" says I "No I won't. If I prepare myself I will not regret anything" "This is her life we're talking about" chips in her younger sidekick "You just want a couple of hours off school" I sternly say "No! I want to go to a good school. Did you know that the girls that go to so and so school always end up pregnant?" "No I didn't nor am I going to check if what you're saying is true. Lets just play it safe and strike that school off our list". says I. "It's a rubbish school anyway. But I only told you so that you understand the importance of visiting all schools" she calmly says. "LIVERPOOL have just conceded a third goal, you cow. Away with you and your school talk" "This is her future we're talking about" says the sidekick once more. "Ok, ok, when do we have to visit?" says I. "Here is a list with the dates" says she as she hands me a small booklet. Liverpool concede the fourth.

Shallowness in Somali clan historigraphy? Oh now you're struggling, saaxib. War don't twist and turn dee. Say things as you see them ban ku edhi. For instance, I don't need to know the entire history of the ONLF to realise that they don't get on with other clans. In fact, I don't need to know anything about Somalis to know any of that. These are clear facts that every Somali knows but chooses to ignore and make exuses for. Clan IS Everything, saaxib. Accept that fact. Aknowledge it. Learn to work within it. An Ethiopian (despite all his rape and subjegation) is not a Somali and, sadly, there is the rub. So stop pointing fingers at others for not supporting your cause and ask yourself why wouldn't they do so (your excuses above are nothing but an attempt to gloss over the clan problems that exist in Somali society). Despite your greater Somalia dreams you know that when push comes to shove you will sell everyone else down the river for the sake of the O cause. Likewise, the rest are doing the same to you for the sake of their own causes. Are you willing to kowtow to others for help or will you continue hiding behind your cause being right and therefore everyone else is wrong? If you do (and it is not a bad position to hold, mind) you must also stop whinging about the lack of support and accept that (for now) everyone is your enemy. Wax fahan dee.

Early days, people, early days. I still believe. Chelsea outplayed United and has double the chances but the scum are a counter attacking team and that was Chelsea's problem. Still a great game. it's not over yet and United are NOT going to have it easy. p.s. Poor Arsenal.

It's two in the morning and I am sitting here trying to decide if I prefer Somali to Somalian. Aah! The things that keep one awake at night, huh!

Heh. Norf & Ayoub never learn.

They know what has led to the erosion of that vision, they know the current situation of each community, they know Shinille will not rise unless Djibouti rises and they know Harshin will remain treasuer-hunter of ONLF sympathizers as long as Silaanyo has a direct phoneline to Addis Ababa. Yet, they hide behind ONLF’s non-inclusivity to rationalize their indifference as if they are forbidden by a court of law from fighting aggression by their own. That is if they feel there is an aggression against them, which is not always the case. So yet again Clan Is Everything but your clan should be excused because it is fighting an "outsider" (for lack of another description)? Pretedning to aknowledge the shortcomings of the ONLF does not exonorate you from blame or wave those faults away, saaxib. If you accept such faults then you must also include the consequences of such faults on surrounding clans and concede that your interests do clash and will clash unless a middle ground is found (this is without the Ethiopians or Zack's Yemanis being brought into the equation). So, come on, write this thread off as being one of "loud thinking" and come back again with something more reasonable. p.s. I know you try to be objective my friend but mixing with the wrong type of Somalis has messed up your understanding of objectivity ninyaho. Starting a thread where you bash every Somali group in the name of your crazy unity makes you an equal opportunities abuser but never would it be viewed as objective in the eyes of any sensible, normal and logical person (Somalis, on the whole, are usually excused from the last three adjectives).

If a man stands in the middle of the street and begins preaching about prayer and cibada it is fair to ask him if he himself prays or not. Therefore, A&T, take what's thrown at you with good grace and leave out the nonsense about messages and messangers, saaxib. Of course, I am still tickled by all these recent threads of yours (Xiin and others think them the height of debate and this tickles me even more). Cala kuli xaal, maxaad tedhi? ONLF want a sperate country and you wrote letters to the leadership opposing it? Arr iga daa! Ma kaa jawaabeen? At any rate, though I don't for a minute believe a word you write, I still am sensible enough to recognise a good idea when I see one. In this case, the greater Somalia argument of yours is one worth tackling and discussing (though most of its proponents, including you, are out of their depth here). My advice, should you put your thinking cap on and take it for what it is, is to start this utopian topics of yours in the Camel Milk Debate section rather than the politics one. For (sadly for you of course) the greater Somalia idea, TODAY, is nothing but a philosophical one. As for politics, and since we are here, I would like to hear some more about the halgan that is being pestered by clan accusations.

^^ I did the minimum amount possible when it came to all that acting stuff. Bal imagine me standing infront of a bloody doll and shouting "I'm checking for danger" "I'm putting my gloves on" "Annie are you ok? Are you ok, are you ok Annie? You've been hit by.."
-
^^ Naah, now you can call her whatever you like.

A song that moves my heart? A Somali song waliba!
-
^^ Newbies are a bit dull though. It's nice to start them off on the right way.. Juxa, You practise the the mouth-to-mouth on the naked doll but all the other stuff has to be done on actors. I had to manhandle gabadh cad for my assessment, which was nice.
-
They wasted their money and my time, Juxa. Useless stuff really.

Aah the objectivity is killing me!
-
I've been sent on a first aid course (again) to improve my empathy and make me kinder to people (they say). Ha!
-
Oh look! They changed the subject and brought it down to a level they're comfortable with. (A&T, I just finished a first aid course, should you feel faint don't hesitate in sending me a message).

Malika, what I say might sound like a joke to you but I'm dead serious. Let her take the wedding test and if she still claims that she's tired I'll strongly recommend that she sees a doctor (none of this vitamin d stuff).

^^ ..war don't push your keyboard away just yet. If you wait long enough, someone else will take up the "fight" allowing you enough time to recover and come back with a different argument. Ilaa guurmaan wax ku barayaa dee!

^^ Still does not change my mind, saaxib. We will win the league, I tell you. I finally got to watch the game and we played them on half ground for the most part (silly spot kick for them and three for us denied). One of those games really. I still believe. p.s. Chelsea will also sneak up on the two manchester clubs.

Sheekadu waa isku dhantahay uun yaan hadhow caaaaaaac la odhan when it comes your lot's turn. It's all that was needed, adeer. Have you not noticed yourself moving from A&T's song of "bari hore waxa jiray" to your current "threat" of "yaan hadhow caaac la odhan"? At any rate, A&T is wise enough to know when he's been told. He, Xiin & Baashe are more comfortable when engaged in circular arguments but when the real stuff is put infront of them sheekado waxay isu badasha "Arsenal sida loo qaraacay ma argtay?" Naga daaya dee.

Abtigiis, since you answered yes to my questions I am going to keep my defence very short and to the point, saaxib. It's a play on my guru's "defeated lot" argument, you see. History is written by the winners, saaxib. Right or wrong does not matter much either. What matters is that those that won the fight have lived to tell the tale in their own way and according to their own preceptions. Now you went to SL and had to go through an airport, get a visa and walk around in a city that is run by these winners. Of course, as a matter of principle, you may have disagreed with the whole thing but, in fact & practice, you had no choice but to follow the rules (rules put down by the people you disparge now). And, since you have no other way but to accept these blatent facts, you must also accept the fact that nations celebrate their own history and lament their losses in grand ways (WW II, Statue of the Sayid, etc). Now, tell me again, what was this thread all about?

^^ I prefer Cade because he was toothless and presented no danger (friend or foe didn't matter much). The Imam is a danger to PL, SL and all surrounding areas. War I even prefer Abdullahi Yusuf to the Imam. At least there were no kneejerk reactions, crazy announcments or unexplainable actions back then.
