Your only sales pitch is to say look what's wrong with Somalia, legitimate point if you actually presented good case for Somaliland that goes beyond Somalia's stagnation. Other than the sense of stability, there is little this entity can offer in terms of socioeconomic. The Somali in North is dirty and poor only sustained by peace and a promise of better tomorrow. They are burdened with the same tribal rivalries and competition for meager resources, underlying cause for the Somali civil And if you find persuading Somalis to agree on something to be herculean, then how is it you managed to convince your Somalis unless you believe attaching the word land to the Somali magically transform the society. I have to say "look at what's wrong with Somalia" dee. Is it not Somalia that you and your fellow unity supporters are offering me? Well, like I told you above, anigu waan tahriibay. It's SL all the way (all the guff you mention above still makes it a better choice, today, than Somalia). Marka, if you have a better sales pitch than your usual "it's dusty, it'll never happen" I am more than happy to hear it.
  2. You're right A&T, the topic is rubbish but the comments are first class.
  3. ^^ You always jump to conclusions, Juxa. How do we know if the Somali youth was actually defending the poor man that was blocked by you and not the other way around? Salaam all (including Juxa of course).
  4. ^^ No, it's alive becuase literate people can usually keep a discussion going. Kids merely point and stick their tongues out. Valenteenah.;751436 wrote: Ah, but attaining peace is hardly an impossible dream (attaining recognition, however, just might be). Why limit yourself to an undeliverable project when the alternative possibilities are endless? (See, it works both ways!) What alternative possibilities, Val? Again, give me a viable alternative and I will be more than happy to consider it. But the fact (and don't let Xiin's sweet but empty songs sway you) is that there has not been a chance of Somalia fixing itself in more than twenty years. The chances of that happening in the next two, three or ten years are very slim. You have a TFG with an endless number of people fighting for positions and, should you magically manage to fix them you will then have the crazy Shabab who are hell bent on destroying the world. And, should you magically manage to fix that, you have PL who is forever muddying the water. And, should you (really) magically manage to fix that, you still have SL who wants to breakaway. On the other hand, whilst SL has not gained the recognition it desires (in all that time) it still carried on consolidating its successes and improving its systems. Recognition is the last obstacle to overcome. A Somali in Kismaayo might not have a choice but to keep on trying and hoping. But, like a tahreeb person who goes on looking for a better life ANYWHERE in the world, you and I (VAL, not Xiin) have the choice of going with SL and making a better life for mine and yours. Spent old Xiin has lost all sense of purpose and reason. He tries to equate the simple task of persuading the world to recognise Somaliland to the herculean one of persuading Somalis to agree. He knows full well how world politics works and that gaining recognition (though not a walk on the park) is a much easier task than managing to get Sheikh Sharif's TFG to function (never mind triumph or even bring a couple of Somali cities back on their feet). So, as you can see it really does not work "both ways" as you put it.
  5. ^^ I rest my case. (Fair enough Val, I accept your amazing reasoning. You must be in a very good mood today).
  6. grasshopper;751412 wrote: I think we all know when he says "all women are crazy" he means his wife. (Too far? meh.) Give it a rest man. Ah you silly hair pin. I mean my wife, my mother, daughter, grandmother, sister and almost every woman on this earth. Don't take it to heart dee. Accept your madness and help me make all the green and unsuspecting boys understand it.
  7. ^^ I am trying to make life smoother for you and your fellow women. But, since you are mad, you will never realise what sort of good service I'm doing you here.
  8. ^^ I don't know everything, you empty bucket. I only know that women are mad. Sickening you in the process is a bonus, I suppose.
  9. ^^ What, only positive views are needed in DISCUSSION forums now?
  10. ^^ Pervert? And I thought Juxa's use of the word "xabsi" was out of place!
  11. ^^ Norf, I do. It was a joke that you obviously didn't get.
  12. But they are Juxa. I know they are and you know you all are. There is nothing to give a rest to. A woman wants equality in all walks of life but she does not mean equality, she means total control. Do you mean to tell me that you have never wanted help around the house? Never wanted "him" to do his equal share when it comes to cleaning, washing, shopping and all the other simple tasks? However, when it comes to choosing what colour curtains to have, you would jump and say "men are not good with this stuff". Or if it comes to having the living room filled to the brim with leather massage chairs, you would protest and say "it is tacky". Naga daa dee, you are all crazy walaal.
  13. ^^ Where did the xabsi come from? A man who has been married for more than five years should be experienced enough to know that women are crazy and a simple thing like having a woman boss should never faze him. wax fahan.
  14. The Zack is married? MARRIED? So what is all this guff about having his first ever woman boss? Ok, ok, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he's still a newly wed (or at least under five years of marriage). It may sound evil but I'm actually smiling now!
  15. ^^ A spin doctor's skill lies in his ability to spin something (usually the truth). Xiin & Baashe are spinning us yarns, saaxib.
  16. ^^ I am not supporting the tired old men, saaxib. I am supporting the project itself. Tempt me with a better one and, as I keep telling you, I may (just may) drag that dust gathering blue flag from under my bed. For now though, I would continue on advising you to weigh things up and support this viable project of ours rather than waste your time (and probably your life) chasing an almost impossible dream. At any rate, the SSC Predicament is one that involves us all. Give your take dee.
  17. I too questioned Siilaanyo’s visit and wondered as to his reasons. But not for once could I have reached the amazing conclusions that both Xiin & Baashe are unashamedly trying to sell us here. If they were talking about Sheikh Sharif then one might have stretched the logic and reluctantly agreed (for Sharif hardly speaks and his silence gives free reign to any number of interpretations). But it is the irascible Imam we are talking about here, people! Contrary to what Xiin (and the H peddling Baashe) is saying, the Imam of PL has not been silent and, in fact, has resorted to his usual retort when faced with a quarrel with SL. Just like the infamous “Waxaan cadeyneynaa inaan faraha ka laaban doonin weerarka gardarrada ah ee lagu soo qaaday dadka Buhoodle” where he huffed and puffed but didn’t blow anything down, he now also carried on huffing. Still, I do concede that there is a change in response when compared to the last time the Imam wailed. You see, last time he referred to the people of Buhoodle as his own and vowed to fight on their behalf. This time, his government released a statement in which it clearly distanced itself from the people of Buhoodle and referred to them as a problem that was created by Somaliland: (“Since October 2007, Somaliland forces have occupied Las Anod town against the wishes of the local population. Regrettably, it is Somaliland’s occupation that has triggered extremists to operate in those regions by benefiting from local grievances”). And yet, Xiin will have us believe that the upcoming SSC conference will all work to the advantage of PL and marginalise those supporting SL. The cheek! Again, I have no idea as to the political reasons and advantages that prompted Siilaanyo to make this visit. I suppose I can speculate that it may have something to do with showing the world that he’s in control of all his (claimed) territories. Or maybe it is to show the SSC that he can go wherever he wants. Or maybe it is to irritate the SL opposition parties. All this is simple speculation and none of it may prove to be true. What is true though is that this visit has shown PL up and proved once and for all that their influence and authority in this conflict has become almost irrelevant.
  18. Jb, fadlan saaxib, fadlan fadlan fadlan Siilaanyo ha amaanan marko Norf meelahan joogo (I'm trying to distance him from the man and your praise is not helping). 6% tax rate? Damn! I'd move right now, you know. But my feet are stuck.
  19. ^^ What day is it? Nacla reer SL and that qaat they got you addicted on. (Salaam Ibti)
  20. Heh@Xiin's explanation. Of all the reasons he had to visit the place 'ka hor tag' bay ka aheed miya? A_Khadar;751043 wrote: ^^ Awoowe, carab nimada joogi.. There is no cadho here... Khatumo is what occupied the minds of free SSC people else where, and those in the occupied city scared for their lives to protest.. BTW, let me ask you this.. Are asserting that since there is no protest, they are supporting in his visit??? If I was asserting it I would have, saaxib. Which is why I said waad cadhootay dee. Wax fahan.
  21. ^^ Adeer wax maqal dee, women are mad. Why are you trying to get your head round something that could never be explained? Just do your job and take whatever strange things come your way (as long as you accept they are mad, you will be able to cope easier with their actions).
  22. A_Khadar;751023 wrote: People speculate for many different reasons from Old man's visit ot LA, but close sources are saying he met with members from p/l admin secretely and they supposedly discussed about upcoming Khatumo2 conf. and ways to stop eve attack it if neccessary.. Where is the SSC movement based and don't people there usually come out to protest about things that took place in other places/cities? p.s. Did he need to go all the way there (at the risk of assasination) just to meet with members of PL admin? I thought Addis was the usual maqaaxi for that sort of meeting.
