The author of the said article, a known die-hard supporter of “Somaliland”, had tried to deflect the blame of this heinous murder of the real culprits, Gabiley militia aka Nuuh Taani army, and pointed the finger of blame to every conceivable enemy in his twisted clannish mind, including the ONLF and Al Shabaab. Let me remind this auther that ONLF are freedom fighters, not cowardly cold blooded murderers. The grieving people of Awdal are awaiting justice to be served by Silanyo’s government and all they got thus far is stonewalling as well as this trash from Abdul-Aziz Al Mutairi, the author of this cruelly insensitive piece. The butchers of Seemaal are none other than Nuuh Taani’s militia in Gabiley. This is as clear as day light. They did it before with impunity when they had slaughtered four Awdal travellers like sheep on the public road between Gabiley and Dilla. Unless one is totally oblivious to the facts on the ground or blinded by tribal hatred, the earlier victims and the current ones in Seemaal have one thing in common: their bodies have been mutilated in the same way wild beasts mutilate their prey. If people who lost their loved ones in this grisly and inhumane manner see tribally-motivated and downtrodden articles such as the one Mr. Al Mutairi had attempted to cover up this heinous murder in Seemaal, they will be gutted by the barbarity of “Somaliland” supporters. This is an insult to injury. It seems this clannish lunatic can blow away the whole world for the sake of “Somaliland”. Shame on you Mr. Al Mutairi! The people of Awdal do not want to hear excuses and blame games; they want to see justice done right in front of their eyes. They want no more stonewalling, no more useless clan meetings, no more delays and no more burying in the sand. Justice delayed is justice denied. They want to see the cannibals of Gabiley to be brought to justice and face the music – the gallows. And I tell you Mr. Ahmed Silanyo what else Awdal people in general and Seemaal residents in particular want to see done: they want to see the back of general Taani right away as he is no different to the infamous General Canjeex who allegedly slaughtered young northerners on Jazeera beach in Mogadishu during the reign of Siyad Bare. This is the same man who collected the mutilated bodies of the earlier victims (the Gabilley-Dilla road victims) from his own sub, sub, sub tribe and handed them to their grieving Awdal families and relatives. Imagine the highest ranking military official of any country witnessing a murder scene and not reporting it. It only happens in Somaliland. To add insult to injury, Ahmed Silanyo has tasked the same General, who time and again protected his killer tribesmen from being prosecuted for their earlier butchery on the Dilla-Gabiley road, to catch the murderers of this new heinous crime and bring to justice. How ironic is this? Doesn’t it sound like asking a wolf to protect sheep from other predators? The suggestion that General NuuhTaani was asked to capture and bring the perpetrators of the Seemaal savages to a court of law is another smack in the face of Awdalites. It may have also another sinister objective: to taint the murder scene and find other innocent people as scapegoats for this horrible crime committed by his immediate clansmen. Despite arresting a few high profile figures for the murder, including one of his trusted advisers, Abiib Timacade, Ahmed Silanyo’s regime may not be honest in this endeavor after all. In a country where clan allegiance is even greater than our noble religion and where literally everyone knows each other’s movements, let alone a case as serious as murder, the butchers of Seemaal are still being protected by Gabiley mafia in Ahmed Silanyo’s government. Everybody knows this painful fact. So is Ahmed Silanyo himself. Instead of finding the real murderers, “Somaliland’s” government has arrested a prominent Awdal politician for simply telling the truth, nothing but the truth. Mohamed Jama ******, a man who never minces his words, simply told in no uncertain terms what everyone in “Somaliland” knows: that General Nuuh Taani is one way or another involved in both the current killings in Seemaal and the earlier one that occurred between Dilla-Gabiley roads. Mr. ****** went on to say that Gabiley is the modern day Jezeera beach of Mogadishu and General Nuuh Taani is the new General Canjeex. This is what aparently put my old classmate in a hot water. Mr. ****** has every reason to make this statement as the perpetrators of the earlier despicable crime are enjoying life in Gabiley and elsewhere as heroes and celebrities, may be even blessed by Sheikh Aden Siiro whose blind clannish statements had alienated many law-abiding citizens and tarnished his credibility as a Muslim scholar. If the man at the helm of “Somaliland” government is not doing a cover-up job on the earlier crime, why Nuuh Taani of Gabiley is still hanging on to his job when every other civil servant under Rayaale government, including office boys and girls have been shown the door? Why a man under the accusation of a very serious crime committed by his immediate clansmen and lost the confidence of a large section of the community, Awdal community in this case, was allowed to continue in such a high profile post in the army? With the problem of Ceelbardaale still outstanding and unresolved, how could a sensible president allow such a person to carry on in the same post as if not happened? These questions beg thousands of answers. Wax la qariyo qudhan baa ju jira. Nuuh Taani is the only top ranking official survived from Ahmed Silanyo’s cull of civil servants and there must be a reason for that. If Ahmed Silanyo is honest and serious about catching the butchers of Seemaal to gain the confidence of Awdal community and restore law and order in the western part of the country, he should remove this tainted General from his post with immediate effect for a starter. The second thing is to bring Seemaal butchers into justice at whatever cost. Failure to do so mean one thing for Awdal community: you are also one of them and somehow involved in a cover-up. Peace is a wonderful thing and has been the buzz word in Somaliland for more than twenty years. Seemaal murderers, together with the equally despicable murder on the road between Dilla and Gabiley in 2009, may have dealt a mortal blow to the much-vaunted peace the government of Ahmed Silanyo has been banking on. As for the people of Awdal, the writing was always on the wall. You have been warned of the dangers in the horizon time and again, and instead of facing your common enemy together, you started tearing yourselves apart for trivial things, often competing for the endorsement of the clan at the helm of the secessionists. As for the so-called Awdal politicians in Ahmed Silanyo’s government, you have shamed yourselves and gone down your peoples’ estimation. Not a single one of you came out in defense of your very own people for fear of losing your otherwise nominal and fake positions. I have to single out here the vice president, whom I never mentioned before in my writings. You let down your people big time. The least you could have done in the Seemaal killings is to show sympathy and pour out your heart to the families of deceased. You attend every possible event in Somaliland and yet seem unmoved by the slaughter of your very own people. As for the so-called ministers and half ministers, you too couldn’t even manage to say a word of condolences to the families of Seemaal victims. You have been known as a bunch of self-serving, hopeless money grabbers at the expense of their very own people, and rightly so in my opinion. 5 Principles of the Awdal State Revolution - By Aman H.D. Obsiye Dear Comrades, The Awdal State is emerging therefore we need to have guidelines to the Revolution at hand. As the Revolution approaches, and the freedom and liberty of the Awdal people become a reality, we need to know who our allies are and who our opponents are. The Revolution has no gray area, it is black and white. You are either with us, or you are against us. If you are an Awdalite and are against the Awdal State (and for the SNM State, aka Somaliland), let it be known that the People’s Army will hold you accountable. There are 5 principles of the Revolution, and every comrade of the Awdal State must believe in these 5 principles: (1). Belief in ONE Somali nation-state (i.e. belief in the Somali Republic); (2). Belief in the Awdal State as a semi-autonomous federal state (within the Somali Republic); (3). Belief in the criminality of the SNM. You must believe that they are war criminals and should be tried in a court of law for the many injustices they have inflicted on the Awdalites; (4). Belief in the Ugaas (may Allah preserve him); and (5). Belief that in the Somali Republic the overall Somali interest comes first and foremost (i.e. it supersedes any clannish interests), and belief that in the Awdal State the overall Awdal interest comes first and foremost (i.e. it supersedes any clannish interests). Let it be known that if you do not adhere to these 5 principles of the Revolution you are not a true revolutionary. Our Revolution is not only about defending the honor and integrity of the Awdalites from the SNM and the neo-SNM (i.e. the Somaliland National Army), but also to resurrect our Sacred Somali Republic.
