Hence, go back to the cupboard and bring another one out in here, particularly, one that has a the smell of a "Shisha-smoking" all over it.. :D :D I never, ever created or even tempted to create a script user-name in here. I also don't smoke shiisha - waan ku qufacaa belayada . One and Only Sayid here. P.s. I was being serious with my questions earlier as to why you object to the talks - Alas, I forgot about the bolding part

A) Because there is no identifiable neutral third party B) You don't trust or think the other side is worthy of been talked to yet C) You don't have confidence in team Silaanyo D) You think total secession is unattainable thru talks with other Somalis E) All or combinations of the above

  9. :D @ the topic. In Qardho's environs there is such a custom as coming of age ceremony but is not dependent upon a number (ie age) but rather on the quality and the character of the young man concerned displays during his early years and is underpined by the poem posted by Waranle_Warrior. I was ten going eleven, when i went through this custom with two older boys (one was 16 and the other 12 years old). All we had to distract us was imaginary plane in the sky. Unfortunately one of the boys got mutilated in the process when he jumped. I was last and this boy was the one before me. Although he didn't scream (becasue we were warned about that before) you could hear and see the rustling and the struggle that was going on behind the 'ardaa ooddan' where we were being called to, one at a time. You can only imagine what I was going through as the time went longer and longer compared to the first guy's quick thing. After three weeks of being pampered and the older boys stories filtered to us that we would never get healed unless we found gabadh qolofta naga qaada or we be married off, if we didn't find such girl

Hassan Sheikh said his topmost priority was to create stability and security, and to strengthen governance and institutions in Somalia. The Prime Minister congratulated the President on what he had already achieved, including improvements in security and an action plan to prevent violence against women. They also discussed the successful action that had forced Shabaab into retreat. The Prime Minister backed the Somali government’s immediate priorities as they rebuild the country after two decades of conflict. The leaders confirmed that the UK and Somali governments will co-host an international conference on Somalia on 7 May in the UK. This will build on last year’s successful meeting in London to help sustain international support for the progress being made by the Somali government. The Prime Minister also said that he would use the UK’s Presidency of the G8 this year to reinforce further support for the efforts of the Somali government to build a strong, prosperous and democratic country.”

  22. Two French soldiers and a French hostage have been killed during a failed operation to free him in Somalia, the defence ministry says. Commandos backed by helicopters reportedly swooped on the southern town of Bulo Marer during the night, targeting al-Shabab militants. According to the defence ministry, the hostage was killed by his captors. The raid in east Africa came hours after French troops intervened in the west African state of Mali. The French military named the hostage as Denis Allex, who was kidnapped in Somalia in July 2009 along with a colleague, freed the following month. France was "engaged in a merciless fight against terrorism wherever it is found", Defence Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian told reporters in Paris. It seems likely that the operation was linked to the intervention in Mali, the BBC's Hugh Schofield reports from Paris. The French government knew well the intervention would have dangerous implications for the nine French hostages being held across northern Africa, our correspondent says.
