Che, Not sure which royalty you are referring to, but as you and I both belong to the shorter lineage branches in the wider family (laangaab) and would never be considered as possible members of the Somali nobility.

Like I said previously, the Fraud Group, those who represent no one but their back pockets, have actually performed very well when you compare it with the other groups.

At the start of this whole farce, if I was a betting man, I would have thought the Fraud Group would be the last to finish. This is a group that has no credibility, no leadership (as far as legitimate leadership is concerned), no powers backing... it is all individuals that all have $$$ in their mind. Naturally this would be the group with the most squabbles; So one would have assumed.

They have just concluded their s/election process with a number of day to go until the dead line. Which is not a small feat, considering all the other groups are in logger heads and it will take a herculean effort for them to finish their lists.

At least, lets congratulate the Northerners for at least showing the Southerners how to do it even in their own farcical s/election processes.

I am very sure the International Community members must be scratching their heads on why those from North are more organised and seem to conduct their affairs better than those counterparts in the South?

It is a field for study really.

It seems Russians are being pushed back in many fronts. The Kyiv front is proving very difficult for Russians to advance any further. The supply lines are being harassed.

The US/West is supplying valuable intelligence to the Ukrainians for pin point accuracy attacks.

I would be highly surprised if Russians last the next week or so. This is shaping to become the mother of all defeats.

After this war ends, the Russian Bear will be left with no teeth.

I thought this war was about Russia trying to  prevent Ukraine from joining NATO? So your saying Russia will be defeated in this?

  5. it’s not that simple, even if GDP is increasing does not mean that it leads to more opportunities for those unemployed or higher wages for those employed. One the many factors pushing young people in to migrating is the increasing inequality between those living in poverty and wealth. And often in large urban cities these two are living in close proximity, making the increasing levels of inequality the more glaring and pushing even more youngsters to seek their fortunes elsewhere.

And economics is only one factor, another important factor is lack of hope and lack of leadership that instills hope (Rajo) and inspires to imagine and work for a better future, things can start looking very bleak.

There is no one that is getting destroyed here. Everyone is on the same boat. It is just matter of opinion and like we always do, we will have our heated disagreements but we will always come together and decide a way forward.

    You are wrong.

Holding elections should be done according to precedence in law, as Galbeedi has pointed out. Following existing precedence is justified as it provided predictability, stability, fairness, and efficiency in the law, so that people know what their rights are in particular circumstances, and will not be based on how one ‘feels’ or will be a matter of ‘opinions’.

On the issue of renewal of the parties, as tradition dictates, the political parties should have contested the last municipal election to measure how many support a party has in towns , villages and cities.
it was complete deception from part Muuse Biixi to hold these elections a year later to concur the so called ten years.

it is very strange and unusual to held elections within a year of the other. Besides, how could parties contest without nothing on the line. No one in the real world holds elections for parties to contest without no seats on the line .

Xisbiyada ayaa tartamaya keligood aduunka kama dhacdo.

    Valid point there!

Ethiopia upgrades its consular in Somaliland to ambassador

    Thursday January 27, 2022

ADDIS ABABA (HOL)- Ethiopia has upgraded its diplomatic standing with the break-away region of Somaliland following the appointment of an ambassador to Hargeisa.

President Sahle Work Zewde decreed Wednesday the promotion of Said Mohammed, who has been the head of consular in Somaliland to a full ambassador.

The new changes follow a visit by President Muse Bihi on January 19 to Ethiopia where he had been invited by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.

Though Ethiopia has maintained, including last week, that Somaliland is part of Somalia, the upgrade of its diplomatic status sends a strong indication of its intention of considering the recognition of the breakaway region.

The upgrade of to full embassy of its consular in Somaliland also comes amid reports that Ethiopia is negotiating a stake in the ancient port of Zeyla in Somaliland.

Currently, Ethiopia has a 19% per cent stake at the port of Berbera in a joint concession with UAE’s P&O Ports.

Upgrading its consular office to an Embassy would mean recognition, you do realise that.

  9. Chicago is US most corrupt City

“There are real consequences to corruption. Ferguson says you can draw a straight line from the culture of corruption in Chicago and Illinois state politics to some of the city's most pressing issues. It's unquestionably holding back the state.

It is a huge inhibiting factor to the development of business, to people coming to the community, to people building businesses in the community that expand the tax base, that expand opportunity, that's necessary in order to sort of cut into those forces that end up resulting in the cycle of violence and the continuation of the cycle of segregation, Ferguson says”

They have ruined us with their secret services and geopolitical gerrymandering.  Again,  if this wasn't islamically wrong,  I would have said 'kudos ' to my fellow somalis.  Hip, hip, Hooray!

When corruption seeps in to communities it negatively affects social trust between members, it leads to poor quality services,  which in turn leads to a increasing inequality and poverty holding a community captive.

First of all, Your analysis couldn’t be more wrong. The Middle-East conflict isn’t about religion, it’s about power.

Second, stick to the topic of the discussion. The double standards in media coverage and international attention given to the conflicts in Ethiopia and Yemen.

That said, Galbeedi how does your neck of the wood village team fare playing ball in Xamar.

Waxaa kaloo laga rabaa inuu u sheego shacabkiisa inuu dhalad yahay iyo inuu Tanzania ka yimid asal ahaan oo dadka shakisan la hadlo.

The second question on his background is justified but comes a bit late, as the man has been in the position for years now. Why didn’t it come up 4 years ago when he was running for the position?

Haddaan u soo jeesto khudbada Farmaajo.

This is the Farmaajo re-election speech.

1- I rejected the money the UAE wanted to steal from the banks. I am honest.

2-I refused the interference of foreign hands. I am patriot.

3- I welcome the decisions of salvation council. I am generous.

4- I built the army. I am for security.

Folks, for the first time we got a real president.

Well, Farmaajo is ready. who is the challenger? please stand up.

Farmaajo biggest achievement is that he freed Somalia’s politics from monopolisation by particular clan lineages, and made a lot of people feel included again and feel their voices count. For that for that he should be awarded.

I agree we have a problem and will continue to have problem but you can not simple support UE agenda that not benefiting the Somalis.

Nobody is supporting the IC agenda, but where is the government and its leader whose responsibility it’s to pursue agenda’s benefitting the Somali’s?

  17. Somalia has time and again agreed to every single UN motion for the last 15 years, in no point of time did one use the platform offered to come up with indigenous solutions and lobby for support, except uttering few unprepared empty words which the IC seems to entertain.

Even if it’s true what you said, there are numerous countries in the SC that are sympathetic towards any real solutions, if one would actually come up with constructive plans.

Somalia doesn’t even have real diplomats and technical experts. One appoints every few years a complete new cadre of inexperienced minions on all levels. Do you really think to influence the international community with few tweets and empty  populistic words, that might work with the poor domestic crowds, but don’t expect to punch a difference on int level.

The EU's flagship naval operation risks losing permission to pursue pirates in Somalia's waters due to local politics.

This is one of many reasons they do not like Farmaajo. One's you let them in, it is hard to remove them. They are there to control the waters, far from their countries. Somalia should add it's demands to remove the Army embargo which they will never remove as the bases of control and leverage.

Both EU and AMISOM have been there for nearly 15 years, UN mandates are renewed every single year for both missions. The government had years the time to come up with any concrete counter proposals and negotiate how Somalia exactly wants to reform or refocus AMISOM and EU mission, which they never have.

This tactic of playing on electoral popularism and fake patriotism is getting old by now, what counts are concrete political solutions and actions.
