  1. Somali Kenya enter a new era of strategic Partnership and cooperation.

Maintaining close ties and strategic cooperation between Kenya and Somalia are vital to the war against terrorism, President Uhuru Kenyatta has said.

Mr Kenyatta noted that it was through fostering strong bonds that the two States would be able to establish political, security and economic strategies to defeat their common enemy.

“Kenya's peace is tied to yours. Kenyans are tired of poverty and the politics of division. I am sure the same is true of the people of Somalia,” he said Thursday during a State banquet when he hosted newly elected Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed.

The Somali leader was accompanied by his wife, First Lady Saynab Abdi Maalim.

“We are bound together by history, by geography and by the connections between our peoples,” Mr Kenyatta added.

He also commended President Mohamed for being elected as the new leader of Horn of Africa State, saying the successful election and subsequent peaceful handing over of power is proof of the enormous strides Somalia has made.

In his remarks, President Mohamed thanked President Kenyatta and the people of Kenya for standing with Somali people in their greatest hour of need.

I want to thank the Government and the people of Kenya for the continued and sustained support to Somalia throughout the last two decades as we went through a very tough time,” said the Somalia President.

He assured President Kenyatta of his support, saying Kenya can count on him as an ally in the fight against Al-Shabaab.

Also in attendance were Deputy President William Ruto, Cabinet Secretaries, diplomats and other senior government officials

It is not as black and white as you make it.

people of borama were subjected to the worst genocide ever by ethiopia and today they are calm and have no problem with ethiopia.same with people of mogadishu,we have no ill will to ethiopia and her interests,we respect as a naighbour what ever happened in the past is in the past, now there is an adminstration in charge in mogadishu that is representive of the interests of the people and ethiopia must deal with it just as it deals with other powers in the region.

ethiopia has nothing to fear from mogadishu,we will make sure those that threatene both the interests of the nation wil be subjugated in the worst way.

  3. HSM is the best president ever,he is in the leage with presidents like thomas jafferson and churchill.the guy when he became head of state, the world didnt recognize somalia as a state.now look at the progress ,unimaginable.

all leaders vying for president has sold our sea for meagre sum of 50,000 dollars, can you believe that,CCC,SHAKUR,SHARIF,divided the money among themselves and sold the sea to kenya where hassan defended it patriotically.

i am sure 1000 percent he will be back and complete his tenure.

HSM relationshop with TPLF is based on mutual interest and you cant fault a person for safeguarding that interests.

That is good news. It has been almost eight years and Somalia still do not even have two brigades of army who can fight well. With all the money that was spent in Amisom and others, who knows it could have built a national army.

The Turks dispatched 200 trainers and said they will train up 10,500 Somali soldiers.

Many years ago I said, Two mechanized brigades could eliminate Al-shabaab and others. You do need to play a cat and mouse. Amisom usually liberates a town from Al-shabaab , but their fighters move to the country side and regroup again with almost no casualty. In the real traditional wars, armies clash and when you defeat the army , they suffer causality and they surrender both arms and men.

Rather than chase them until the end and finish them of , a known routine of endless war is going on between Al-shabaab and AMisom. The city of Marka alone has changed hands more than three times this year alone.

I jiid aan ku jiide waa jeenyo daalis. markaas buu rabaa weliba hadana in la doorto.

we can write anything we want, but alshabab is no different than ONLF/OLF,the only difference is they are being extragerated and their frantic/senseless attacks have losts its aim/purpose.these are headless chickens hated by almost everyone, the government isnt going to just disappear because 2 million people depend on it for daily survival salaries and services.

  6. poor written, just 4 years ago,it was battle ground, now thanks to heroic somali army and AMISOM it is having the best time for security, thanks to both that made the situation ripe for bussiness and investment, the amount of bussiness, investment, enjoyment overshadows few raids there and there by civilian killers murtad groups of takfiri-alshabb terrorists.i hope 2017 will be the year the full responsibility is relegated to the army and paid well and on time, and we are seening positive results so far.we owe uganda this great sacrifice.

daish groups are bloodlust and are willing to sacrifice themselves for their GOD Shaytan, but they are failing massively.

  7. ethiopia is failed state,it cant feed its citizens,12 million are going hungry 2016,and relies on sheer military crude force for cohesion, the oromos, the ahmara, the tigray, the afar, the somalis, are different ethnicities hold together by the barrel of the gun.it has too many enemies number 1 being Somalis ,so it is better if this starving failed state concentrated on their internal problems rather than killing somali elders in baydhabo-14 innoent elders killed just yesterday.

the ethnocentric regime is just there for money, the moment they feel threatened they will seceded.it would be interesting to see how it unfolds.it is also one of the easiest countries to de-stabilize.
