  1. I think Hassan Sheikh went too law. For him to speak for Mogadishu people as patient people toward the government is just crude and tribal. Besides, these guys had their chance to govern and lost the election. They should leave the arena for new blood and others. Why they both keep coming. Don't they know that in Somalia you have one chance to lead and if you fail you are history.
  2. If these two guys go to Nairobi and became coyotes to cross the border, it will destroy their future political lives. If they ride the Kenyan helicopters would be even worse. Anigu waxaan qabaa hadda in labadaba la siidaayo oo ay ku biiraan budhcada xukunka boobtay. WAlaahi ayagaa ku ceeboobi.
  3. The Somali government of today doesn't need political martyrs .As he said, as a former president , has every right to visit wherever he wishes. He has a constitutional right to be a spoiler and visit Kismaayo. If president Shariif want to be spoiler and give a boast the KIsmaayo outlaw, let him be. I can assure you that the day he goes to Kismaayo, a city that elected three presidents, and be part of quagmire, his stocks will go down big time. Many people will consider him as one of the spoilers who want to take sides. As I said before, Shariif Ahmed isn't a tribal person or a bad guy. He is a decent man, but choosing to inflame the KIsmaayo conflict will only damage his prestige and standing. Waar ha safro oo asxaabtiisii maxakamadaha iyo Al-shabaabka abuurtay ha ku biiree siidaaya. Hana ogaado in Soomalia ay soo dhaaftay wadaad jabhad ah oo Kitaab iyo qori la ordaya si uu awooda u qaato. Let him join his buddies. KIsmaayo will be his political grave yard. Look, even Cabdulaahi Deni of Puntland kept queite and didn't say a word about these conflicts in KIsmaayo. As a serious leader, he doesn't want to be part of the spoilers. Deni Waa rageedi. Waa uu aamusay oo sugayaa sida ay wax u dhacaan.
  4. I don't think there is going to be a war between the federal government and Madoobe. Yes, Farmaajo is putting him a pressure, yet, if Madoobe is removed, it will be by the locals. The people of Jubba are turning against him already. Those who keep saying that Farmaajo will be chased out of the capital by certain tribe are mistaken. He is not a despot or dictator that needs to be overthrown. He is no bodies guest. The only way he will leave the power is ballot by box and elections. Khayaaliga la iska dhaadhicinayo ee reer hebel baa marti loo yahay iyo waxaas. Does Shariif Ahmed would assemble tribal militia today against the government and then try to be a candidate tomorrow? I do not think so. Waar la tali oo u sheeg in aanu is ceebeyn. Apophis , forget about 1991 or the useless tribal wars. I think we passed that stage.
  5. The legitimate national government of Somalia had said the election in JUbba was null and void. It also said that those who are going their must pass through Aden Cade airport. It wasn't up to the standard of former elections. Have you seen any video about people putting ballot papers in box as it happened in Puntland? No. You can't deffy government orders. If you disagree, go to the court and challenge it. They can't allow former president to give a boast to someone the government considers an outlaw.
  6. Apophis , how many times i told you I do not need a job. In order to prove that I am an independent man with no political association, I will take a hiatus from commenting these issues. All i want is a working and stable nation. I want a second fair election in Jubba. Is that too much to ask?
  7. Shariif Ahmed knows that there is quagmire in JUbba where two or even three competing leaders are deadlocked. He knows that the federal government described those elections as null and void. Others are trying to find solutions including the international community. Why would he defy the conventional wisdom and become spoiler?. For politics, I guess. Furthermore, why would the national government assist these guys to use the national airport and undermine the policy of the government. Waar ha loogu dhaarto wadaadkan in dalka dawladi ka jirto oo aan qof walba siduu doono yeeli karin. Ma ahan in lagu gacan siiyo in uu dhibta Jubbaland sii kordhiyo oo mid ka mid ah taageero. THey should ban all flights to Kismaayo until October first.
  8. Muqdisho (Caasimada Online) – Madaxweynihii hore ee Soomaaliya Sheekh Shariif Sheekh Axmed iyo wafdi uu hoggaaminayo ayaa maanta loo diiday inay ka dhoofaan garoonka diyaaradaha magaalada Muqdisho. Sheekh Shariif iyo wafdigiisa ayaa saarnaa diyaarad ku socota magaalada Kismaayo, oo dowladda Soomaaliya ay diiday inay halkaas ka duusho, sababo aan la shaacin. Sida aan xogta ku helnay, wafdiga Sheekh Shariif uu hoggaaminayo ayaa waxay doonayeen inay ka qayb galaan munaasabadda caleemasaarka madaxweynaha Jubaland Axmed Maxamed Islaam (Axmed Madoobe). Kadib saacado ay garoonka ku xanibnaayeen, ayaa Shariif iyo xubnihii la socday waxay isaga laabteen guryahooda, waana markii ugu horreysay ee madaxweyne Soomaaliyeed sidan loo bah-dilo. Dowladda Soomaaliya ayaa maanta soo saartay xayiraad cusub oo dheeraad ah, taas oo ku saabsan duulimaadka Kismaayo. Hay’adda duulista rayidka Soomaaliyeed SCAA ayaa soo saartay amar ah in shirkad kasta oo u duuleysa Kismaayo inay soo weydiisato Xafiiska Hay’adda fasax duulimaad 24 saac ka hor. Hay’adda ayaa ka dalbatay Diyaaraddaha aadaya Kismaayo inay soo weydiisato Xafiiska Hey’adda fasax duulimaad 24 saac ka hor, sidaas darteed waxaa lagu wargeliyay shirkad kasta fasaxii ay ugu duuli laheyd Kismaayo, si aan looga joojin duulimaadka. Ma cadda in Sheekh Shariif uu saameeyey amarkan iyo in amarka uu soo baxay kadib markii la celiyey, ayada oo isaga loogu talo-galayo, waxaana ay u badan tahay in amarka uu dambeeyey.
  9. it has damaged his stock and image. But, He will survive probably due to his good record toward minorities and multiculturalism. Private rich academies are notaries using costumes to mock blacks and others. Imagine Trump saying he shocked.
  10. It was 40 years ago tomorrow, September 22 1979 , that the long and bloody war between Iraq and Iran started. Two oil producing and developing nations who share culture and history went to war for stupid and useless reasons. Saddam abrogated the treaty that marked the border between Iraq and Iran at Shatt al-Arab river way that divided the two countries. In 1975 , as the vice president, Saddam Hussein himself signed the treaty of Algiers in Algeria. Yet, as Iran went through the turmoil of the Khomeini revolution, he saw a weakened state that could be invaded and tried to take back Shatt al Arab by force. As the result, a nine year bloody war left millions of casualties from both sides. It was the most devastating war since the Vietnam war. Two more wars involving Iraq had taken place since then , one in 1991 gulf war and the second gulf war which both involved Americans. Just like Ethiopia followed the strategy of bringing the war between Somalia and Ethiopia inside Somalia using angry Somali tribes, Israel and America had succeeded to encourage the clashes of two of the most advanced nations of the middle east. Ayatollah Khomeini declared the gulf Arab gulf monarchies as un Islamic and illegal institutions. In return , the gulf nations poured billions of of dollars to keep Saddam in the war and defeat Iran. At the end , with no winners and millions of casualties, the war stopped in 1988. Also, a large Wahabi and Saudi led religious propaganda campaign was initiated to make the Shia as the devil incarnate. Yet, when Saddam attacked Kuwait , a gulf state member, they couldn't resolve their internal problem. Rather than find solutions, they supported the American led coalition to remove Saddam. Bush senior expelled Saddam , but didn't want to weaken the balance of the power in the region and left both Iraq and Saddam intact. His immature son, who doesn't know history or the middle east , were led by the neocons to invade Iraq following false claims of weapons of mass destruction. The removal of Iraq made Iran the sole power in the middle east. With Syria and Iraq destroyed, Yemen starving with sectarian civil war, and Egypt chained by a bloody dictator, the only two remaining countries in the middle east are Iran and Saudi Arabia. For years the Saudis and their corrupt side kick, the UAE , were campaigning for the destruction of Iran. Without thinking the consequences of that kind of conflict, they finally reached the rubicon as they say in Rome. Years of threat of war and weapon procurement had reached its end game. The blood thirsty and war mongering necons in America were clamoring for war against Iran since 2001. It was David Forum who penned the axis of evil speech targeting both Iran, Iraq and North Korea. Bush Jr. refused to wage war against Iran seeing the deadly consequences of Iraq war, and Obama with advice of American military and policy makers had agreed to reduce any possibility of war against Iran and concluded a treaty for the Iran nuclear proliferation. The Neocons led by Netanyahu and his supporters in U.S congress tried to derail the accord but all failed. Finally, Trump , the crazy horse rider who claims to understand the danger of wars in the middle east became president. In order to survive, Trump is aligning himself with the neocons and Israel with its fast network of supporters. Coupled with Saudi contracts that offered billions of dollars to the american weapon manufacturers , this match made in hell is just waiting someone to ignite the fire. Trump had declared his disdain for new wars in the middle east. He had signaled his intention to withdraw from Afghanistan and Syria, yet unforeseen events , armageddon hoping allies, and his internal weakness might lead him to war. History had shown that despite the difficulty to push a new war, American pro war industry and the neocon warmongers always get their way. This war mongers are probably ahead of everyone else and might even get their wish. Rather than just destroy Iran and create unforeseen quagmire for America in the middle east, the neocons might double down and use one stone to kill two birds. THey might simultaneously create a war between Iran and Saudi Arabia and make the middle east the most dangerous place on earth. I have no idea how could this war will take place, but , if there is ever going to be another war in the middle east, it will be one that will definitely destroy both Iran and Saudi Arabia. The necons can';t wait another ten or so years for another big one , so they might as well finish off now that crazy Trump is at the helm. Everyone one is aware that the next American president will be wary of war with Iran and might find solutions for the nuclear issue. Now, if that war takes place , the consequences will not only affect the middle east but the whole world. The world consumes a 100 million barrel of oil a day, and 10% of that is produced by Saudi Arabia. With the gulf burning , both the Bahrain and UAE oil, and Qatar gas will be out of the market. Oil will hit one hundred or even 200 dollars per barrel. The local industries and economies of countries like: China, Japan, Korea, India, and western Europe , maily ITaly and France who import oil will collapse. North America, with immense oil production, will survive and Canada could became an energy superpower. With the second largest oil deposits in the world, and stable geopolitical location . Canada will replace Saudi Arabia in the western hemisphere and even Asia. Europe will absorb probably five to ten million refugees from the region. With 70 million Iranians and 30 million Saudis, even if 10% percent of population leaves , it will change Europe for good. Unlike the Syrians who have a five thousand years old civilization and traditional skills to survive, prosper and integrate, the Saudia haven't done an honest days work in their lifetime. Certainly they will have access with money which might make it easy for visa and foreign travel , but they will have hard time to settle among these nations with the their Wahabi tradition and lazy lifestyle. Expect culture clashes and conflict for those who would made the trip. With all this scary scenarios, the time has come for the Saudis to think carefully and find solutions with Iran. Despite firing missiles into Saudi territory, the Houthis control less than 30% of territory. The west, the south and even the east is controlled by others, so does all the main ports except the hudaydah port which is contested and controlled by the UN. The Saudis have done enough damage to Yemen infrastructure already. Also, unless they send full ground invasion, it will be difficult to destroy the local Houthis. While most local Sunnies have sympathy with the Houthis against the Saudis, they do not want to be ruled by them. By all accounts, the Houthis are ready for a deal. The Saudis must realize that they have failed all their political and military efforts in the region whether it is Iraq, Syria or Yemen. The time has come to change strategy and find solutions with Iran. For decades, the Saudis were not liked by the Muslim communities around rhe world, but at least they were respected since they never involved in wars or open conflicts in the region or other parts of the world. Their position as the custodians of Makkah and Madinah should force them to be neutral and arbiterer among the Muslim nations. This young Bin Salaan must be raigned and the Saudis must return to their old foreign policy of non confrontation. Also, Saudis must realize that their nation doesn't bode well among other nations, and if harm comes to them , they might not get any sympathy from the world opinion. They do not realize that they are one the most hated nations in the world. They had already made many mistakes in all the wars that took place since 1979. If this war with Iran comes, it will be probably the last one in the middle east which will finish off many nations. Besides, the only real nations in the middle east were always Egypt, Syria, Tunisia and Iraq. The rest were tribes that got some money and built prefabricated capitals like Riyadh, Dubai and Tripoli. They probably worse than our own tribes which had destroyed the only nation we were able to gain and could,t get up again. The Saudis should avoid the necon traps and avoid conflict with Iran at any cost. They must change course and make deal with Iran. Their evil partener, the UAE had already made the deal with Iran and changed course. Who knows,. Bin Zayed might have planned this all along to bury the Saudi Kingdom. If you need help talk to Turkey . THe Iranians are on the brink of economic disaster due to the American sanctions, and should be willing participants for any SAudi dialogue. How about UNited states of America. Empires are usually destroyed either by moral decay or wars in distant lands. The second world war had finished off the British empire for good and made America the leading power, seconded by the Soviet Union under the international communist ideology. Also, unlike the old colonial countries, America was seen as the shining city on the hill by the world. Everyone wanted to be an American until they took the mantle of the old empires and become the new empire. For the last 28 years America was involved with couple of major wars in the middle east. The last war in Syria to fight ISIS and Assad in Syria was the third , and if you add the one in Afghanistan it makes the fourth major war in less than thirty years. When the late Chinese communist chairman Deng Xiaoping visited America in 1979, China was a communist black water with no major industrial output. When he toured Houston, Texas, he said he want to see were the chips are made, not the potato chips. Since then, the communist China kept gaining and gaining while America was running in the middle east like a mad dog. In 1991, America expelled Saddam from Kuwait in order to make the oil follow to the Asian nations and Europe uninterrupted. Billions were lost. In 2003 when Bush Jr. decided to invade Iraq again, the Chinese abstained at the UN vote and flooded the American market with cheap goods while uncle Sam was chasing Arabs . They kept the surplus money in America and bought American treasury bonds which reached over trillion dollars today. It just took them twenty years to become the second largest economy. Obama reversed that policy and decided to realign American policy against China and Russia. He deployed troops to Australia and decided to leave the middle east. That shift continues under Trump. Yet, a new war in the middle east will give China a breathing room . A war with Iran will probably finish off America as the natural leader of the world. The coming disaster will allow both Russia , China and Turkey to take over the middle east and north Africa. Also, war waged by narcissistic leader who knows everything and overruled everyone will be the kind of leader who will finish off America.. The war with Iran will remove America from the world stage just as the second world war finished the British empire. We all hope that there will never be a another war in the middle east, but if one comes, the world will change forever.
  11. Since the vice presidential candidate of Waddani is from this community, they probably helping their allies in Sanaag to put more pressure to Muuse. Will see how it goes in the next few days. It is Xaaji Xanjuf maternal cousins.
  12. Holac, Saaxiib I am safe and sound in my good old Canada. The most peaceful nation on earth. Anyway, Jabhado are the new norms now in Somaliland to extract your needs from Muuse Biixi. The Awdal community is three clan blocks, and this Jabhad is a sub sub clan of one of them.It is the Ceel Bardaale , Dila and Wajaale community. I think most of the grievances are about farm lands in " Banka Wajaale" where the government is cultivating wheat both in the public land some land that belong to that community. I have no idea how serious it is.It could be some politicians pushing things to get ministerial posts or perks. I heard that the governor met two of city council members from that community and asked them about a hundred men who were assembled in west of Dila area, and they told him that these guys are not different than when Reer Berbera put some clan members in the mountain to protest about the port, or east Burco and Buurmadow technicals in Sanaag or even Caare boys roaming SAnaag. It is a clan looking after its right. Why our boys are different?. The next day they were arrested. The talk is Muuse had fired almost all the public servants from that community since they were the supporters of Waddani party. The last director in the service was removed this week. Sida ka jirta Somaliland Waa xaqayagii baan doonaynaa, dawladiina waa lanaga nadiifiyey. I think Muuse Biixi want to crush and eliminate those who support the opposition from government jobs.. He is courting trouble.
  13. Definitely this Ghelle guy is a player. What is going on with Assab port of Eritrea? Is the Tigray don't want to use? It is much closer for them.
  14. By the way, despite its loudly proclamation of diversification , 95% of Ethiopia's export and import is with Djibouti
  15. The world is becoming normal again. The most important Arab country, Egypt is in chains by bloody dictator. I think he might survive until 2020. If a democrat elected to America , most of the Arab dictators will go down. I hope these protest to continue and attract more world media attention. As the clip shows if people lose the fear and speakout SISI could be in trouble. Among The crazies who support Arab dictators one, Netanyahu is out and two more, Boris and TRump, will flow. The rich gulf boys will go back to their usual business of buying yachts and casino gambling and leave world politics aside.
  16. Natural gas here in Alberta is $1.20 in September. Natural gas never surpassed $3 dollars for the last ten years. Anyway, with large population Egypt needs gas for electric generation and should not be exporting any gas. Mr OO, The Halane guy actually said that despite the parliament passing some rules on petroleum , Somalia doesn't have any rules to govern the oil. He said major players will not enter unless clear cut rules about royalty and taxes are set. Regardless , we have to drill and get the oil out. If the gulf saga continues " Safe" countries like Somalia has to replace them, and replace quickly before the oil industry becomes obsolete 2035. Just like Abiy said, Ethiopians will come to work for us In Somalia.
  17. I am those who believe that a port in every 200 km is a good for trade and business. Every Somali community in these regions have enough livestock to ship to outside world. Fishing ports and fish processing industry alone is more than enough for couple of hundred thousand people in those regions. Yet, you can't have three huge container ports in one region. It is going to be a tough competition. In my opinion, Boosaaso port could lose business if both Hobyo and Garacad are activated. I think a medium size port invested by the business community and Puntland could serve well ro support fishing and livestock export to the close region. Besides, all this talk of Hobyo and Garacad invested by foreign money is just a hope. Mudug having to ports is strange. Which even builds first will be the Mudug port. OO, How can you put Somaliland, Qatar, Turkey and Djibouti in the same basket?
  18. Old Observer, I really like these Danab forces. No army in the world would defeat a well trained and well paid Somali soldier. Last month Al-shabaab detonated a car bomb in one of those forward bases by Danab and tried to swamp and jump in as they did with Burundi and Kenyan soldiers. These forces held their ground a killed everyone who tried to enter the base. Furthermore, the next day they followed Al-shabaab to their place and killed a large number of them. Some of the Turkey trained soldiers were deployed in MOgadishu and Middle Shabbeele. But I agree with you that Turkish trained soldiers are not active like Danab. The Somali officers they trained were incorporated with the army, yet they are not that active like the American forces. It is probably all about money. I hope Somalia should not lose these Turkey trained soldiers. The Americans always use their own trusted officers and soldiers to achieve their goals. In Syria, they use the Kurds YPG against ISIS and even trained Sunni Arabs to defeat Al-qaeda. In Puntland , they have what they call PIS which is a well organized deadly force. I don't like the idea of foreign paid soldiers , but these guys are chasing Al-shabaab to the bushes. Air power and drones alone are useless if ground assault doesn't follow. Anyway, neither Danab or regular army are not after Ahmed Madoobe at the moment. It is useless to waste resources in Kismaayo while you battling Al-shabaab in both Lower and middle Shabbelle. It is just misplaced fear. I think the first bullet in Kismaayo will be fired by Madoobe. Bad actors and bad advice from certain sectors might convince him to take on his opponents and try to drive them out of the city. Fatmaajo could use legal means and diplomatic pressure, but can't use force. Why would you attack KIsmaayo while Al-shabaab is in Bakaaraha and Bacad. It doesn't make sense. I will let you know when Madoobe is either going to Nairobi or Mogadishu for good.
  19. What you mean is probably cargo freight airline to serve landlocked countries like South Sudan, Ethiopia and Rwanda. That business opportunity is there for Somaliland. In fact, it was there for Djibouti for 30 years. While Somalia was in flames for 30 years, Djibouti was served by Daalo from Somaliland and Jubba airways from Somalia. They couldn't create or manage a local airline. The ruling tribe and their boys were chewing Qat. The truth is capitalism needs well educated workforce and high class management which is another level compared to Somaliland. AS you know in Somaliland, we are tribes , and tribes can't indulge to manage sophisticated enterprises which needs high degree of merit and independence from the corrupt ruling class.. The private sector guys like Dahabshiil could probably do it. Anyway, the whole Somaliland can't accomodate more than one good airport. I laugh when I hear people talk about airports in Burco or Borama. You need to build more traffic. Forget about Berbera, just make the Hargeisa airport better and bigger.
  20. Suldaamka, War wanaagsan baad sheegaysa . That is good news. with all the fake universities producing nothing but clerks and useless liberal art degrees, these are the ones covering the needs of the people--nurses and doctors. THese doctors are not only serving Somaliland, but across the region. In Qardho, Puntland, there are two doctors from Amoud.
  21. Do not count on Qurbo Joog. After the initial euforia it will be over. I know and have seen that . THat is why Somaliland took over the east --consistency and study salary. How about Puntland?
  22. The most strange thing is the Saudis spent billions of dollars for anti missile batteries from America including the Patriot .If they can't defend the largest oil terminal why spend the money. Besides, the Houthis can't reach that far with 10 drones at once. THis is strange. Someone is cooking something. The treacherous UAE had made a deal already with Iran and left the Saudis dry. Friends like these you don't need enemies. I think this is the work of Iran. since their oil exports are halted they retaliating. Even Rouhani said that if we can't export oil through the gulf , no one will. THese crazy Shia are heating things up.
  23. The exit of the SAudis and UAE from the middle east and Africa is good news. THere will be elections and peace in Algeria, Sudan ,Tunisia, and as you said Hafter could demoralize and disappear. The best news is the coming demise of Sisi. Because of Makkah and Medina, we cared the stability of that land, but the demise of the evil kingdom might bring relief for millions. Can you imagine just last spring they were dumbing Turkish Lira to bring down the economy of Turkey. THey are really evil.
