1. Miyir, believe me I'm not threatened by these people. I don't feel threatened by these effeminate men and their radical liberal agenda to erode the moral values that exist in our African Muslim society. You might be okay with more men being gay because that will leave more women available, but any self-respecting man would never think in such terms. Are you a teenager? More women for you? Is that really your first thought when being confronted with the homosexuality problem? You're not even concerned with the blatant disregard for decency and manners that this LGBT community has.
2. @Tallaabo said: Che isn't your cherished "wholesome, traditional lifestyle" what got Somalis deep into to the sh!t they are in? I think a bit of radical liberalism is what is probably needed to remedy our social illness. Are you kidding me bro? Do you really think that's what got us into this mess? Where's your logic? Somalia is in the current mess it's in due to our inability to get along because of tribalism. You also have this Italian Mafia Culture that exists amongst some Somali men of a certain age group. Lack of family structure, high divorce rates; all of this contributes to the problem that exists in Somalia. It has nothing to do with "wholesome traditional lifestyle". In fact, an Islamic upbringing and a moral society would remedy these issues. It would uplift our people instead of bringing them down.
3. @Safferz said: LOL@ Shias not being real Muslims... Islam according to DoctorKenney (also, Layzie was on to something... you know way too much about this person's genitalia). Bye. I never said Shias aren't real Muslim. But the fact that you resort to going to Shia authorities when you yourself aren't even Shia shows how you're dishonest. And I find it funny how you nitpick ONE thing which I've said and then run with it. Islam explicitly forbids men from behaving like women. Sumaya was a man, and he was acting as if he was a woman. Not only that, but Sumaya committed homosexual actions and then videotaped it. Go look for yourself. The pictures/videos are all over the internet. And you have the nerve to excuse this behavior? Do you hear yourself speak? P.S. I seen the freaking images Safferz. They were posted all over Somali Twitter (before they were taken down) and it's a well-known fact that this "Sumaya" character was a degenerate pornstar. Why do you always defend the lowest and most immoral amongst us? What is your motivation here?
4. @Safferz said: Religion would side with him on what? Denouncing transgender individuals? Nope -- there is no one religious perspective on this, and sex reassignment surgery is considered permissible by MANY Islamic scholars (ie. Iran, Al-Azhar, etc). What "good argument" has DK made in this thread? 1. First off, Sumaya wasn't a transgender. Sumaya was a man who dressed up in makeup, got breast implants, and acted like a woman. But that doesn't make him a woman. It's not like "Sumaya" even got sex reassignment surgery at all. He still had his male body parts. So your point about "sex reassignment surgery" is a moot point, since this surgery didn't take place. 2. I dare you to go on Google and search the images of Sumaya. You would be appalled at what you see and again this is a well-known fact amongst the Somali community in North America. Sumaya was a pornstar. There are videos on the internet of Sumaya engaging in homosexual behavior and these images were reproduced all over Somali Twitter. I don't lie. 3. The fact that you consider "Iran" as a valid source on Islamic legal matters, shows that you're not being completely honest here. Iran is a Shia country where some of the so-called scholars consider it permissible to drink alcohol or do other immoral things. Stop bending Islam to fit your liberal narrative. Islam is Islam and that's all there is to it. YOU might think it's okay for a man to start acting like a woman, but Islam says otherwise. “Allah curses men who imitate women and women who imitate men.” (Sahih Bukhari) 4. "Sumaya" was a wonderful person according to his friends, but that's hardly a reason to avoid condemning his behavior. There are all sorts of reprehensible people who are considered "wonderful" by their colleagues after they pass away. Ask the mother of this man, and she will tell you the truth about who her son "Sumaya" really was. You can pray for this person, you can hope for the best. But at the same time, let's not fake feelings here and let's not prevent ourselves from telling the ugly truth. For all we know, Sumaya could have been a Muslim. We can't look into his heart and see what he was thinking. We don't know so we refrain from saying anything. His case is with Allah know. But we shouldn't gloss over his sins and pretend that what he was doing was totally fine. It wasn't. If my brother was an alcoholic and he dies, then I won't try to "bend" Islam and make his actions permissible. And now that this tranny is dead, we should tell the truth about this person and seek to learn from his mistakes.
5. @Che -Guevara said: DK....As a heterosexual, conservative Somali male, you need to understand SOL has a lot of LGBT supporters. You are a minority now and you are being targeted for your views and wholesome, traditional lifestyle. I commend you for standing your ground :-) Don't given in to these radical liberals and their gay agenda This website does indeed have a lot of LGBT supporters, and it's a sign of the wretched times we live in. Our Somali ancestors would have never tolerated this behavior to continue in our society, yet we have seemingly rational Somali adults actually defending the actions of this sinful person. We Muslims need to stand our ground bro. We need to push back against this madness and actually establish our values and voice our opinions. The Prophet (pbuh) himself promoted values that were radically different from the polytheistic society in which he came from. But he never compromised. He never sacrificed his values and he stood his ground, and in the end he prevailed. We need to do the same thing. We are representatives of Islam and we carry the truth on our side, and it's our duty to promote this truth and spread Islam to all corners of the globe.
6. @LayZie G. said: Did you examine the content of the video? Did you carry a relationship with the subject of this thread? Why are you claiming to know the person, unless you were involved with him? How can you testify to the contents of a video unless you were there or you had access to the content? YOu have some serious explaining to do....just be honest with yourself, and tell us you are in fact grieving for the loss of your lover. Mida kale, you can't tell people to denounce something and/or someone based on a common religion. You are not the authority of any religion. Just take sometime to deal with your emotional outburst. Perhaps you should take some time off and grief alone in a dark room. Cheers, LayZie G. There IS a video. Why not just go on Google and search the video for yourself? This was common knowledge and my mother as well as my grandmother knew about this tranny BEFORE he was killed. This isn't exactly a secret. I am a Muslim. I believe in Islam and it's my duty to denounce what's evil and promote what's good. Stop with this secular mentality that we should ignore evil behavior and allow this to fester in our society.
7. @Mooge said: Dk, niyoow that is what I suspected. if this guy was tormenting his own mother with sex videos of himself being banged, than we can all say he was not a nice person. this is disgusting niyoow. thanks for telling us about the history of this person. You're welcome bro. This whole incident was a shock to me too. I don't know this Sumaya character personally, but I do know his family especially his mother and I know for a FACT that this Sumaya person was a reprehensible person
8. @Miyir said: Waw so much fear and hate! calm down Who to believe? all the people who knew He/She personally that said He/She was a good human being or some family member, ashamed for She/He lifestyle? who cares how He/She got her rocks off as long she/he never harmed anyone? First off, this person "Sumaya" was a he. Let's not kid ourselves here. Just because he wore makeup and got breast implants doesn't change the fact that Sumaya is indeed a male. Second of all, Sumaya was not a good human being at all. We need to pay attention to these sorts of stories, so that we Somalis can understand and learn from these incidents. There's no use in hiding the truth here. Just because this person is dead doesn't change anything. We are Muslims, and we have an obligation to denounce evil and promote good behavior.
9. The Somali community in Canada is lost. I've said this before and I'll say it again
10. The death of Mustafa Mattan and the death of that 15 year old Somali boy in Kansas cannot compare to what happened in Chapel Hill, let's not kid ourselves here.
11. @Mooge said: niyoow i hope she lived a decent life full of self respect. Bro, this creature "Sumaya" was a Somali transsexual pornstar that used to record videos of himself having sex with men, and then sending the videos to his family in order to torment them. His own mother disowned them back in 2011. I know this family. Trust me, there was nothing angelic about this disgusting character known as "Sumaya". I don't care if this person is dead or alive. We all die, and being dead doesn't entitle you to anyone's respect. A criminal is a criminal even after death, and there's no use in bullshitting here. This Sumaya creature was a degenerate, and we can leave it at that
12. @Mooge said: ^^ niyoow this is another mashruuc. this FGM has been milked dry by xalimos. Exactly what I was thinking bro. I've seen numerous demonstrations, conferences, books, documentaries about this practice. They're milking it dry. They need to get on the ground and actually make a change in Somalia itself. Since they're Somalis, nothing is stopping these activists from visiting their ancestral tuulo and actually convincing the locals to not engage in FGM. I hate talkers, especially those who receive large donations from organizations in order to speak about FGM, but then they don't do a damn thing in Somalia to actually stop the practice from continuing. Making a presentation about FGM when most of your audience are wealthy Westerners isn't a very good idea. And it's a problem with the people. MANY MANY Somali women to this day are convinced that FGM is necessary, and often the procedure is performed by the grandmother of the young girls. Someone needs to educate these Ayeeyos and we need to make FGM a socially taboo practice. We need to SHAME those who engage in it, to the point where no Somali would ever want to participate in such a practice
13. I'm glad this story is getting the attention it deserves, and this story may be a reflection of the rising Islamophobia that's taking hold in the United States, especially over the last 12 months. The last 12 months haven't been very good for us (the rise of ISIS, Bill Maher making hateful remarks towards Muslims on national television, Charlie Hebdo attacks, etc.) And the negative propaganda probably was feeding into itself until one lone gunman took it upon himself to kill 3 Muslims with a gun, at point-blank range. And he killed them over a relatively mundane issue (dispute over parking space) which I find a little hard to believe.
14. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2015/02/11/north-carolina-muslim-students-gunman-chapel-hill/23222317/ This is absolutely horrendous. 3 Muslims lost their live in North Carolina yesterday as a result of a hate crime being committed by their White Islamophobic neighbor. Initial reports say that they were killed over a parking space, although the family of the victims dispute this and make it very clear that this man has threatened the victims before. The victims were a young married couple; who were just married only 6 weeks ago. And the wife's sister was also killed. All of them shot in point-blank range. Allahunaxaristu
15. @Alpha Blondy said: yeah. i do. there's a skewed power dynamic. what do you think Ken? Turkey is a great power that is trying to cultivate allies in the region. And right now they're trying to prop up the failed Somali State. It's only disturbing to you because we Somalis put ourselves in this ugly situation. That doesn't mean that in the future we won't see a powerful Somalia, but right now we see an extremely weak Somali State that needs the help of foreign powers just to survive. The truth hurts
16. Alpha, are you irritated when looking at this picture??
17. Mooge, these people are absolute savages. They don't know how to take advantage of the enormous opportunities being presented to them, and instead prefer to behave like this saaxib. 1 in 3 South African men had admitted to raping a woman before. Their homicide rate is unbelievably high, and is the highest murder rate out of any Industrialized nation. Not even Russia comes close to South Africa when it comes to their savagery. Entire areas of Johannesburg and Durban are complete no-go zones, and the Whites/Indians of that country are forced to live in gated communities and hire private security guards just so they can stay alive. If something drastic isn't done, South Africa will slide further and further backward, and it'll be unrecognizable in 30 years.
18. I welcome Neo-Ottomanism in the region. If Turkey wants to cultivate allies in the Horn of Africa, then so be it. We will benefit and so shall they. Somalia and Turkey have a long relationship, stemming back to the days of Suleiman the Magnificent and the Ottoman Empire. Even the Somali warrior Ahmed Gurey had a military relationship with the Turks....so this is a recreation of this old relationship. God bless Erdogan
19. @Mooge said: Ayan hersi has a low self esteem niyoow. she is always seeking acceptance from white people. she was never proud of her heritage. niyoow i have never seen her talk about race inequality, poverty and other issues. she only knows one topic which is to bash Islam. what a pathetic woman. Saaxib, it's because she has nothing else. She's their token Somali woman who says what they pay her to say. She's not very intelligent, her arguments aren't very sound, and her arguments are full of holes. But she plays that "poor little victim" from Somalia, who was "oppressed" by Islam and ran to the West for safety. And now she's writing books trying to "empower" the woman and telling them that Islam is evil and needs to be stopped. It's all a game saaxib. I remember she claimed once in an interview, that she "lived under the Islamic System" when she was growing up in Somalia Does she expect us to believe such a thing, especially since Siyaad Barre was in charge at the time and Somalia at that time was far from an Islamic State It's just blatant and utter lies over and over again But her audience is ignorant enough to believe this. They don't research what she says and they go along with it.
20. Crown Prince Salman ibn Abdiaziz is expected to take power
21. King Abdullah of Saudi Arabia just passed away at hospital at the age of 90! http://edition.cnn.com/2015/01/22/middleeast/saudi-arabia-king-abdullah-dies/index.html However much I disagree with that man on many things, including some of his policies...I think he was a much much better leader than the previous leaders of Saudi Arabia King Khalid or King Fahd. May Allah have mercy on his soul.
22. @SomaliaPatriot said: Because of qabyalad? Lol Niyoow ha fogaanin. God bless both presidents. I say as opposition. What does his qabiil have to do with anything? Have you looked at Culusow's track record in the last 2.5 years? This guy is an absolute embarrassment saaxib. Open your eyes. I was a strong support of Abdirahman Baadiyow and he's in the same clan as Culusow, FYI.
23. God bless Mr Erdogan. I can't say the same for the current Somali President though.
24. If the Shia's capture all of Yemen, we should expect to see swarms of Yemeni refugees crossing the Gulf of Aden into Somaliland and Puntland. And this could be disastrous for us. And this will put even MORE pressure on the Somalis who happen to live in Yemen as refugees from the civil war.
25. I loved this. It's a show of force and it allows us to display our displeasure with the ongoing defamation of Islam/Muslims that's occurring in Europe right now. We made our voices heard.
