1. @Miyir said: I feel discomforts whenever I drink but not as bad, Definitely allergic to all dairy. You got tested? It sounds like you don't have milk allergy going by what you are saying. Yes my doctor did a hydrogen breath test.
2. @xabad said: ^ You haven't watched his shows if you have no hatred for him. That is all i can say. I am surprised he has even one fan, the way he humiliates and dresses down his guests. I've got no room for hate in my heart for no one. It's a waste of time, energy, thoughts and disrupts your innerpeace keeps you focused on the negative which isn't good for your emotional and mental health. Yes I can dislike a person but not hate them.
3. @Miyir said: mine not as bad as that, nevertheless I feel much better without milk. do you suffer it? Do you mean which of the two I am or my symptoms? I'm lactose intolerant and my symptoms are bloating, abdominal pain and feeling nauseous. Symptoms vary per person. One person can have all the symptoms where as another can have only two. Which of the two are you?
4. @xabad said: Are you serious ? what personality ? I don't find his bullying of people on his shows remotely funny. He is dour mean spirited scottish curmudgeon. He has a chip on his shoulder, usually those people take it out on other people. But i guess people anything funny in this world, even those falling off stairs, strange world we live in. When did we start taking cooking lessons from british ? they can't cook for shit and all this posturing about hygiene and safety is for tv money. notice the numerous british chefs lately, they realized its the latest gravy train. they are cynical people. also his facial aesthetics i can't stand, he is like one of this wrinkled bulldogs, if am watching a show presenter must look like a normal person. not an extra from the lord of rings. Gaalo men have hideous faces though. Looool You killed the man Where's this hostility towards Gordon coming from? You attacked him on a personal level rather than criticise his work. I'm not into laughing at the suffering of another person. In general I can easily laugh at things and find humor in situations Xabad I watch kitchen nightmares and master chef. I learned alot of things from it. My cutting and chopping skills are professionally on point like a pro. Also I know how to store different types of food and products properly in the fridge and freezer.
5. @xabad said: Good piece, Blue! Some traits are too embedded in the human psyche to let go off. The Parenting style you describe is one such. " Your so and so, we have great expectations from you, caruurta kugu dayaneeysa, I was no 1 in my class when i was your age, we want you to be a great scholar, i am training you so that you can train your kids iwm . Tiresome and dispiriting drivel, they'r under genetic imperative so you can't even be mad at them. Thanks Xabad, it's not my words I didn't write it. @OdaySomali said: What do you guys think about people who choose not to have kids? I don't judge people who don't wanna have kids as I know they have their personal reasons as to why and everyone is entitled to their own personal choices. A person who wants no kids is much better in my eyes then one who has kids and is never there for them emotionally or physically and or treats them inhumanly. I never understood why some people force a person who wants no kids to have a kid @galbeedi said: I do not wish to interfere this kind of topics, but since it is of children, I would like to add few points. The case the sister is pointing out is probably an extreme case of control. She pointed out about expectation of the parents and atoning their failures through their children. That is true. We would like them to avoid our past failures. If the parents want his children to pursue what he could not achieve for themselves or aspiring higher goals for their kids, we are guilty as charged. I was the first in my family to go to school. My dad did not had that chance. When I was in high school, I was studying with lamp (Faynuus) at night. Electricity was rare thing that can only probably found in Mogadishu or Hargiesa, , I shared two or three boys ( sibling) in a crowded room. Now let see my kids. Each one of them has his own room, when they were in high school, we drop them in the morning and picked them in the afternoon. They never, even took the city transit bus, and when they come home, a nice , hot meal is waiting for them. In return what we ask is good manners, respect for their parents and other and good grades in school. Is that is too much to ask. We struggled a lot for them to have better future than us. They also have all the freedom and the independent thinking needed for them to decide for their future, but their are certain expectation. Because of the opportunity they have, they must do better than us. " wixii la galiyey waa in laga soo saaro. Isn't that what every nation and family aspires: the next generation to do better than their parents. In terms of marriage , here in North America, I have never seen a dad who worries about the finance or the wealth of the groom his Daughter will be marrying . All they want is a good person who will take care off them. Some times, they may even contribute financially for the wedding and other issues. I know some of these children might face a a lot of outside pressure, but there is expectations, and that expectation can be modified by a loving parent without punishment. Sometimes, what counts is not about what they achieve or their education , but how caring and decent they are toward their family and others. Thanks for your input. I agree with you nicely said. You understood the message.
6. @xabad said: ^ He is an oaf, he is not-the-man, but a publicity seeking ugly wrinkled face turd. can't stand that frog. I don't like his personality eg the aggressiveness, yelling, name calling etc.. but I do love his passion for food, health, safety, hygiene and his work. He is the man because he thinks of other people's health and life's other then himself. He's honest and straightforward tells it like it is and also stands up for the rights of the customers and employees. What could be more important then that and saving humans lives by stopping these bad restaurant owners. Look past his personality and look at his work. Ps his personality creates some funny moments when he's interacting with people in that show
7. Xabad I don't know the difference between Chinese and western Chinese cuisine. All I can tell you is things never seem to be what they are, they present it so beautifully. I went to a chinese restaurant twice and both times I got food poison. Lesson learned: always ask first before tasting if it's unknown food to you. Nowadays I rarely go out eating in restaurants after watching Gordon Ramsey's program kitchen nightmares about what goes on in the kitchen of a restaurant. It openend my eyes and I look at it differently now. Some of those kitchens are dirty, have overdate food, bad food hygiene etc. Gordon Ramsey is the man coming up for people's health and wellbeing.
8. @Miyir said: what is the difference? Lactose intolerance= Your stomach is missing the enzyme lactase to break down the milk sugars called lactose. Therefore you experience stomach related symptoms such as gas, bloating, abdominal pain, diarrhea, nausea after minimum of 30 minutes upon cosuming a dairy product. You can drink milk. Milk allergy= You're allergic to the protein in milk and thus get and allergic reaction from it which is far more serious than a abdominal discomfort. Symptoms inlcude swelling of lips and throat, skin rash, trouble breathing, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. You can't drink milk at all. @xabad said: I am what they term as Pescatarian i.e a fish eater, basically all sea food. I also want to be 100 % vegan. It's very refreshing how many people i have met who reject meat and animal exploitation and have confided their similar moral stance to me. Never heared of a pescatarian. I once went to a seafood restaurant and suffice to say that was my first and last time. Being vegan is also much healthier and better for your health and body then if you are a meat eater and dairy consumer. https://youtu.be/xd3hMbmcErc These women are WOW! Look at the two who are vegan.
9. Chinese food? No thank you! I don't trust their food since they eat everything. On the other hand I love Indian food and their spices. Ps I just noticed this topic is in the politics section.
10. "I find a lot of...parents fall under narcissism. They basically get a child to fulfil their emotional needs (a lot of the time out of ostentation). A list of expectations have been formed even before the child is born ( a lot of the time doctor or engineer and marriage to someone who will be of benefit to the parents). So children's capabilities, desires and natural habits are forced to conform to the parents' list even if the child's make up doesn't fit the rigid demands. Instead of letting the child grow up normally and do what comes naturally- they are forced to live according to the parents' script and a genuine inability is classed as rebellion by the parents which warrants punishment from the parents. Children are seen as a continuation of the parents' success (what the parents class as success that is) and it would be a crime for the kids to ruin it. Or children are expected to compensate for the parents' failure and hence it is them who will bring back the equilibrium or bring superiority to the family.A child might even be held accountable for a nasty comment by a family friend ( just an example) as the parents see it as the child bringing shame to the family instead of classifying it as rudeness from the commenter. towards an innocent child. The reality is children are not an extension of the parents' (needs). They are offspring who could have a different healthy outlook on life which they want to pursue. To deprive a child of expressing themselves is harmful. If a child fails to deliver or manifests other plans- it could get nasty. The parents think the purpose of getting a child is not being fulfilled. After that what happens can vary- revenge, abandonment or measures to put the child back into the initial plan and narcissist tactics are possibilities. I ask Allah SWT to forgive us and guide us to the straight path." Saif Ayman
11. @xabad said: Blue are you a meat eater ? Souls are souls. Food is food. Life is life. When you eat chicken or any murdered once living animal , you sin against it. Animals were given by the Creator of the Universe and Earth to be cared for and to learn from , not food. This is the great fall of humanity. True food comes from a plant. When you eat a dead animal , you are not only a murderer , you are a thief too. Your intestines become a grave yard and your flesh and blood are polluted with animal DNA , animal blood , animal protein , you become what you digest , death spiritually. Belinda Leoni No I don't eat meat. I'm a semi-vegan who still eats chicken, fish, eggs, yoghurt, cheese and occasionally drinks milk. In the near future i'm cutting out these products and become a full vegan. What kind of a diet do you follow?
12. Xabad lool One doesn't have control over that. No one would be on earth voluntarily if they got a sneak peek of how things are.
13. This is too shocking. India is known for it's violation against women rights. I'm against people who violate the rights of women, children and animals.
14. Eewww what did I just watch?! So disgusting this can't be undone from my eyes. Found this hard to watch since i'm against animal cruelty as I love animals. Xabad you should have put a disclaimer on it. Gosh I love my cheese and yoghurt. Not much of a milk drinker never was since i'm lactose intolerant. But when I do drink occasionally it's always lactose free milk. Will have to reconsider since I'll be looking at differently from now on. Did you know that green leafy vegetables contains more protein and calcium then milk. You don't need milk for calcium intake that's so yesterday. @Miyir said: I cannot digest Milk so Im out. Are you lactose intolerant? Or do you have a milk allergy?
15. @OdaySomali said: Practice gratefulness everyday. Account for every one of your blessings, achievements and successes, both past and present. You will come to realise that in some ways you are blessed and highly favoured, as each and everyone of us is. Agreed! Gratefulness opens the door to abundance and happiness.
16. @xabad said: There is no love in Romantic adult relationships, only lust. Pure and innocent love can only be between children and their parents, or between siblings. I cringe when people use the word love to refer to the physical attraction between sexes. Are you serious?! To say that love doesn't exist in romantic relationships is a ridiculous statement. Love does exist in romantic relationships so does lust. A relationship can either be based on love or lust or both. That's why I said some affairs start that way because the basis for some is lust. Love is a feeling one doesn’t have control over nor whoever you fall for. You can love many things in life e.g. siblings, parents, family, co-workers, neighbours, friends, animals, nature, brothers/sisters in religion and etc..
17. @gooni said: Wax mushkilada ma leh jacaylka waa laga hadli karaa waxaan aaminsanahay inuusan wadnaha ku dhicin wuxuu ku dhacaa indhaha waxayna u gudbiyaan xubinta ku shaqada leh jacaylka Labaduba way jeclaan karaan ayagoo xaas leh balse waxaa na xukuma diinta iyo akhlaaqda suuban Mooge Makula talin lahayd ninka xaas nin kale jeclaaday inuu u tago una sheego ninkeeda inuu jacayl la liito? Hadaysan weli aqal gelin dagaalku ma furan yahay aragtidaada? Reer burtinle waan aqaane reer barigu see u xaliyaan arimaha jacaylkaanoo kale? I agree with you! Love itself is pure and innocent it's how you act upon it that determines whether the outcome will be a sin or not. Indeed love starts with the eyes after all they say it's the window to the soul. Well said Gooni Mooge - Niyow do you live under a rock lol. People falling in love with another while they are in relationship or the other person in relationship is common. Some affairs start that way.
18. Will try it out sometime to see which one I like better. Thanks
19. Xabad how does this squirt bottle look like and work? Is it easy to use?
20. I use the neti pot only when I get the flu as I don't got any allergies or sinus problems. Although I must mention that in the past I did suffer from sinusitis but ever since I started taking probiotics I was cured. It completely disappeared and never returned again along with my cumin sensitivity.
21. You were in baadiyo?! Holy moly makes me wonder how you ended up there. I look forward to your stories. Lool, the girl was totally lost in translation. Relatable to many ?
22. @Alpha Blondy said: how long for? i'm sure there's a different condition for a month long assignment. reverse culture shock isn't for anyone. its defined by time. A year but he's got 2 months left.
