  1. Ngonge, I'm looking to start soon iA. But I'm afraid of acting like some of them if I do learn it. Ibti, in Dubay you will be lucky to hear Arabic being spoken (at least out of Deira). Juxa, heard of an umbrella?
  2. In his Pentagon office, the head of the Film Liaison Office makes no secret of his goals. He wants to encourage films which flatter the U.S. Army, win support for its actions on the battle field, and encourage more soldiers to sign up. In short: pure propaganda. Few great war films have escaped the influence, or even the censure, of the U.S. Army. http://www.cbc.ca/passionateeyemonday/feature_151203.html Go ahead and ignore it

  4. ^Plenty previously provided. You just choose to ignore them This was something I saw this morning on the news and thought it sounded like a film I saw.
  5. ^Morning xaaji but first in? Wa lagaa horeeyey
  6. ^Jumca mubarak Ibti. Job is good alxamdullilah and getting used to new surroundings (its not Dubay but nowhere is like Dubay ). I did umrah yesterday alxamdullilah. Adigu meeshii ma ka soo baxsatay? Wrap up warm
  7. Movie: Extraordinary Rendition A man is abducted from the streets of London and transported via secret flights to an unknown country. Held in solitary confinement and cut off from the outside world, he is plunged into a lawless nightmare of detention without trial, interrogation and torture. Returned without explanation to the UK many months later, he is left to pick up the pieces of a shattered life in a world he no longer recognises. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0826613/plotsummary European court backs CIA rendition victim The European Court of Human Rights has ruled in favour of a German citizen, after finding he was an innocent victim of extraordinary rendition by the CIA. Macedonia was ordered to pay Khaled el-Masri $78,000 on Thursday for arresting him and handing him over to the US in December 2003. El-Masri spent five months in secret CIA jails for suspected links to armed Islamist groups. The decision is a victory for El-Masri who has been trying in the US and Europe to get authorities to recognise him as a victim. El-Masri, a German citizen of Lebanese origin, was arrested, held in isolation, questioned and ill-treated in a hotel in the Macedonian capital Skopje for 23 days, the court's press service said. He was then transferred to CIA agents who brought him to a detention facility in Afghanistan, where he was further badly treated for over four months. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/europe/2012/12/20121213144859463814.html
  8. ^Welcome bck duqa. Waad iska booday bal fill us in. Jimce wanaagsan. A peaceful atmosphere seems to come on Friday mornings.
  9. I still think Xaaji wouldn't do what he said he did. In fact, I think he was the one that was blanked by an Apophis on a train
  10. ^I'm bored Being able to eat what I want and not put on any weight (until recently ) I thought it would be interesting to find out why.

  12. There is nothing better than caftan iyo dacaayad with a complete stranger. There is nothing better than hearing an old seaman out who would tell you about the UK in the 1960s whilst waiting for a bus/train. There is nothing better than trying to help an afro carribean woman trace her grandfather to Hargaisa (he was a JB/Alpha). Apo here has an identity crisis thing going on covered in ego and misplaced pride. Ngonge, you're weird. Who else would notice goats' 'baceec' just before sunset in Hargaisa
  13. LoL Nuune (welcome back). I had a feeling this thread would go south. In order to really understand the issues being faced and how they're being dealt with you need to watch the video. All societies have issues. Some of you are criticising them for not giving women their rights but, going back to Ibti's thread about women and education, things are progressing at a pace acceptable to most Saudis. Things will not change overnight. Oh yeah, some of you need to leave your comfort zones and go and see the world. I promise you your views will change.
  14. Its your choice. I was trying to appeal to your Somalinimo side.
  15. ^Somalis are not individuals. We are a family. It is expected for you be curteous and have a natter with another Somali on your travels (if they're not insulting towards you). ps I somehow can't imagine XX with an iPad
  16. A country in transition. I think the Prince explains quite well the challenges Saudi society faces and how they're dealing with it.
  17. I don't mind meeting Somalis on my travels. I actually enjoy having a chat with a fellow forehead. Odayaashaa la qaatay. They show no insecurity in that they know waa dhaqan to talk to qof Somali ah in a foreign land before going separate ways. If you're qof fur furan you don't mind it (and recognise its part of out nomadic culture) laakin if you're qof xidhxidhan you will shun it.
