  3. Ngonge, badownimo wayaan saasi For JB's benefit. A sandwich company operates in areas where there are offices. They make the sandwiches at their facility then put them into a van and drive to say central london to the offices. Sandwich kaasaa ku haynaaya until you get home at 6pm. No bariis iyo xilib after dhuhur Afternoon Faheema. Great weather no? Think I will brave the roads and rent a car this weekend....
  4. Ah. I remember the sandwich man/lady. Its was either tuna or egg or cheese. Ma xalaal baa kiinu?
  5. Was hungry this morning when I came in (last nights footy after effect). I was wondering what I was going to do (no food places nearby). Then someone comes around and tells us there is a team breakfast in the conference room. So I ran and grabbed zaatar and cheese fateras and small cakes and pizzas Afternoon all. Weekend is here!
  6. You're only as old as you feel the saying goes. There are fit 80 somethings running marathons.
  7. Retirement? Pension? The weather? Mise ka mushaharka idin siiya?
  8. Caydhan la jaraayo will have an effect. Just not sure what that effect is yet. I think limiting child benefits to just 2 kids is what has been talked about but thats just chinesefying things. The housing benefit caps will mean families have to cough up so less hagbado guryo lugu disaayo back home. Ngonge, was it a good daydream?
  9. Was it a dodgy pavement or did you just lose your balance? Malaa meel kalaad eegaysay

  11. Morning Faheema. Waa khayr. Ngonge and Nuune stirring trouble but whats new? How are things in DXB?
  12. Very humbling. An ageing blind Saudi man insists on walking all the way to mosque five times every day although he was deprived of his sight many years ago. His guide is just a rope, which he tied to the power pole next to the mosque entrance. The unidentified man was asked by village residents to pray at home, but he insists on going to the mosque every day, using the rope to find his way. A YouTube film showed the man, wearing the traditional Saudi gown and headgear, walking slowly, but with confident steps, until he reaches the mosque door, where another man happening to be going to pray led him inside the mosque. “God has deprived this old man from his eye sight but not from his perception and faith,” the Saudi Arabic language daily Al-Saudeh said. http://www.emirates247.com/news/region/blind-old-man-uses-rope-to-reach-mosque-2013-01-06-1.489946
  13. JB was probably at a nearby house or hotel taking a nap and snuck back in through his office window. He knows magalaadoo dhan anyway

  16. Afternoon you two. Xaaji Casiir, is there any difference at all between 'la' and 'lisa'?
  17. oba hiloowlow;905912 wrote: this i understand laakin JB and Norf and Xaaji they say ilmo abti bes. I have never heard of Ilma Eedo or Ilma Habreed but I suppose they’re technically correct (they are sons and daughters of your eedo or habo). Ilma abti or Habar wadaag is what I have always used. Without being an expert I suppose this is because of the male dominance of family names etc. When referring to a family you would say reer Mohammed or reer Xaaji Cismaan and wouldn’t use the names of the mothers/wives. I wouldn’t be heard calling Ilmaabtiyaashey ilma eedo though
  18. Thanks for the update Paragon. Interesting what you mentioned there about a possible cold war.
  19. London (you might get shot in Norway by a lunatic) Clean shaved or stubble?
