  7. Ngonge, There are regional variances but there is also standard Somali. I always wonder why news anchors add ‘sii’ when referring to locations. ‘Wariyaha Axmad Ali Muus ayaa ka soo waramaya/waramay magaladaasii’.

I was dreading going there as the driver was too busy and I wanted to get it in time for the weekend. Got pics taken, license copied, money paid, eye test done, translation into Arabic done and all without a word of English (af Somaali ba iga soo baxa for some reason). Getting there.

  17. Damascus was the most fascinating city. So much history, great people and great food Baghdad before the wars would have been great to see.Cairo is on the list and so is Istanbul. Would love to see Xamar in it’s splendid glory again.

  21. ^The Turks do. Syria was a great place with wonderful people. Sad to see it in the state it's in at the moment. Asad was very welcoming to Somalis who didn't need a visa to get in (until recently).
