  1. Fiqi, mar hadaad halkaa iyo bitterness iyo cuqdad gashey waan ka harey sheekada . Your words sound like a trademark propagandic quote... every Puntlander must say them once or as many times as possible in his lifetime . It is like shouting 'anti-semite' to whoever says anything about Israeli state or 'racist' when one comments on black on black crime .

I don't know Point but you might actually know that guy in person, but let me say, that the above qoute was a direct link between his own version of history and the perceived 'genocide' on the oromos perpertrated today! He's alluding to a time, when the Dervishes were defeated and they went with all their possesions and personal wealth to the late King Cismaan Mahamoud and Abdullahi Yusuf's clan, popular myth has it, that none of the persons, who thought refuge and sanctuary came ever back nor their possesions! That's why he's saying know for the person who don't understand Somali language 'Those are folks, who have never been sought sanctuary too'! That is a vile remark and a lie! Because he knows perfectly as you and me, that the people he's referring too never ever oppressed anyone (well atleast not in the last 80 years or so)or refused to give sanctuary or refuge to anyone who needed it! Today Bosaso is the home of millions of people that don't have any historical links with it from ethiopians, oromos, afars, yemenis, reer mogadishu, bay and bakool and many others! 6. ^^ Then I should remain sad till I can't fight off oppression. Brown, this sudden spotting of the 'wanted' terrorists can only possibly be made by the Americans. Only them would rate the rest of the world's IQ against their lowly one, which mades them come up with such foolish excuses. It would not be surprising if they come up with more outrageous excuses as time goes by.

  10. Yesterday I started a topic regarding increasing tensions between Kismaayo clans and Barre Hiiraale's clan. There is already the talk that there would be a 'fight within the victors'. Clans who are originally from Puntland, beefed up by clans from Waamo region have begun to oppose Barre Hiiraale's formation of an admin for Kismayo. As far as these Puntlander/Waamo clans are concerned, Hiiraale's clan are foreigners and should give back Kismaayo back to its rightful inhabitants. Hiiraale, as a member of the TFG, thinks his creation of an admin for Kismayo is well within his right. However, the clans opposing him indicate that he is rather the Defence Minister of the TFG and not really the Domestic Affairs minister, and so he cannot create a admin for Kismayo filling its position with his fellow clansmen. I am sure the objection is much more bigger than the way I explain it, but I like the simplication of it . I just don't want to upset my friend, Horn . Here are some links; As reported by LaasQorey.Net, two clans that share a general linage have given a joint press conference rejecting Hiiraale's propositions and presence in Kismaayo. In an article posted in GedoNet.com, which is known to be pro-Hiiraale, the writer contemplatively asks very serious questions that include 'do you want an infighting between the clans of the general tribe? or should we try mediation'. As concerns the writer, he believes that some (originally) puntlander clans value Kismaayo's rule more than they do about their current national leadership of Somalia. He says if that is what these clans want, C/Y should get out of Villa Somalia and give the chance to another clan. He warns against hostilities and says let us not be hasty. On the other hand, our tabloid website preferred by some in SOL as a news-source, Idamaale.com, has published an article that hints towards Hiiraale's injustice against the people of Waamo. The article goes on to mention how Hiiraale is denying Waamo people their basic human rights. It concludes with a statement from Waamo people's representative in Ohio, USA. A copy of this information is contained in PuntlandPost.com. Allceeldheer.net gives general information about the tensions and only confirms the reports contained in the topic I posted yesterday, which for reasons I am not aware of, was deleted. So my people, are we looking at 'fights over the spoils' or real hostilities about who really owns Kismayo?

  13. Xalane, so you have no answer. You are not adding anything new to your argument, the gist of it being (to paraphrase): there was anarchy Embagathi went about to appease the very warlords that created the anarchy, those who held the clan captive. That looks like rewarding the hostage taker and punishing the hostages with more organised business of hostage-taking. Phase of establishment? Lol, what are the corner-stones of this establishment? The warlords! That really buffles sanity. ThePoint, lol hey man where is the party at? Since the TFG was given the upper-hand, aren't you celebrating at all? PS; are you congratulating me?

It is the blood running through the veins of AY that you wholly dislike or dare I say hate? This my dear boy is what a lot of us are suspicious about. If by blood you mean the treacherous blood he shares with Geedi, Caydiid Jr. and many others, then it's a no brainer, yes.Castro, lol. It seems some folks' implication of 'blood through veins' is questioning your tribal linage. A finger is being point at your support as one that emanates from your the blood you share with those who oppose the TFG. You speak as a Somali, yet your words are given clannish conotations. It is unfortunate that some would resort to such categorization but this is the prism through which many see Somali politics. If clan linage was to signify one's political support or opposition, then I would've support the TFG due to 'blood'. However I don't. So keep voicing your concerns, I for one appreciates speaking against unjust occupations such Ethiopia's.

Xalane, OK. It is good that you first give recognition the illegality of the TFG's process. Now, let us move to the legality of the government. If one is acting legal with regards to the legal formation of an 'organisation', may it be of governance or of civil function, shouldn't he followed the legal process? Or if a legal procedure isn't in place, shouldn'e he/she find the next best thing? Granted that due to Somalia's condition, such legal processes were not in place, what about pastral democracy of the clan? Are you telling me that members of the clans have been consulted about their representation? The case was, my friend, the process used in Embagathi, was one that merited the strongest and most armed of clans, which forgot that weakest mass. It is the clan's tradition to elect or select representatives, but in the case of forming the TFG most traditional leaders were muted, and if they tried to speak, threatend. The truth is the TFG's composition is based on who could yell the strongest threat. Isn't that the truth? And as for the Process,u too well know that these men were representing their own folk and the whole somalian politics,be it the past or the present or even that of the future, power will be shared by all the clans and thats exactly what happened. No, I don't believe so Xalane. I know quite a number of people who actually happen to hail from Mr Yussuf's clan, who have the right knowledge and qualifications, who had the support of many unarmed folks, that got sidelined. Why should I therefore hold warlords as representatives and hope they'll share power with the civil society? Remember, if your memory stetches back to early 1990s, the struggle between the militarists (Yey, Caydiid, Qanyare, Jess-Gabyow and co.) and the civil society movement (symbolised by 'The Manifest Group' or as some call them 'sulux') that the case for representation died with the manifest group and with the victory of the militarists came rule by the gun. So, if you must know something, what you see now is simply the continuation of profiteering through militarism and latter day warlordism. Nothing is legal about that.
  16. ^^ I am not forget that, Xalane. So you are saying a 'transitional government' doesn't have to be legal?
  17. When the Current President ,the Colonel was elected,he asked for international peace keepers and so did Abdiqasim. The only reason why this Government is being blamed is due to its Efficiency otherwise we wouldn't hear any one's objections. And precisely who elected this government Xalane? This seems to be a recurring question which is yet to recieve an adequate answer. If your line of argument was indeed 'this government was selected', I would agree with you. When you say an entity is elected to govern, there must be a procedure that makes it legal. legality and legitimacy rests with the people, each individual with the right to vote, has this taken place? No. Even if you were to say the walords who gathered in Embagathi were representatives (directly or indirectly) of the people, I would have given in to your line of argument. However, since the very warlords that make up of the TFP came into it through their means of coercion, isn't such an entity simply a forceful one? Not only is the TFG a forceful one, but even the TNG falls into this category. So the argument that one should accept the TFG because he/she happens to have supported the TNG is a non-starter. I for one did not support the TNG, neither will I the TFG due to their illegal existence. As for the matter of the invasion u are talking about, the sooner the peacekeepers get deployed, the Ethiopians will withdraw to their borders.Until then,ur argument and its similar, are premature. The TFG's initial route to power dictates its ensuing conducts, Xalane. Whether peacekeepers are deployed or not, or whether the ethiopians leave on their own accords comes to nothing. What the Ethiopians created is a government in their own image. As Somalis say 'Hal xaaran ah, nirig xalaal ah ma dhasho'. The TFG admin would always remain illigimate.

Xalane, I know the above was addressed to Brown, but if I may, let me take the liberty to respond to you; no, as far as any logical person can understand, there is no recognizably legal government in Somalia. What there is in Somalia, however, is clearly a total occupation perpetuated as government. If legality and legitimacy mean anything, the TFG is domestically an illegal entity.

  23. Ah! Siligga Xaar Xaarka, deserves to be bombed. The post of cruelty, I say. The border post is around a mile and a half from Dhoobleey and 17 km to the nearest Kenya division (Liboi). It usually doesn't house any civilians, but there are those open air kiosks that sell cigarettes and drinks to vehecles passing to either side. The place has the presence of a dozen or two of AP (admin police) and civil police and occassionally, the Kenyan army parks tanks and helicopters there. It is not the first time it was attacked. I remember the attack of Cabaas Waal (Horn's kinsman) during 1989 or 1990 as a result killing four Kenyan police officers (one of them of Somali orgin). The Siligga's proximity to Dhoobleey can mistake those conducting arael observations. I am simply glad that the place still remains unsettled, because there were plans to resettle the village of Liboi in Xaar Xaarka just before Somalia's civil war. Good luck to the hawkers (Jeebleyaasha boys and girls) selling things to travellers.
  24. So, afterall, the map had some ressemblance to the truth.
