  1. Winger I hear what u are saying... "maybe there parents should of raised them to get involved in sports from a young age i dunno sis but some ppl are gifted in there own way.." BUT, at the same time, couldn't u also say the sporty kids' parents should also invest in their school's education more? encourage them to get higher grades instead of just relying on sports as back? Ud.. "Fair has nothing to do with it, X. The college level sports, especially in the states is crazy, Colleges make hundreds of thousands of dollars from college sports and the athletes don't even get paid, in return they get a scholarship." Right, i'm not saying they shouldn't get anything since the schools are gonna profit from then, BUT shouldn't brainy kids also deserve some investment into their future? I see young men always saying they are gonna play ball 'cause they might get 'discovered' or choosen by a good school, when in truth, most don't get a scholarship, and then what? they are left with bad grades 'cause they thought they would make it, and left their education behind..aren't schools luring kids into just fame and not putting enuff emphasis on literature? AND isn't it odd that majority are black kids, and doesn't that indirectly discriminated against 'em when ur saying u'll get to school because ur an athlete, not b/c ur capable of great marks? Just a thought..

    Summer time!

Summer? Gee, i'm not looking forward to hot humid days where you feel like the sun is taking a dump on ur face, but other than that, I love the clear, pollution-free days, where there's a bit of a wind, flowers blooming, birds singing, days longer so that u can do many things, the nights where u can chill with friends for countless hrs, and most of all...NO SCHOOL!!!! Can't wait for the shopping to start, but I would have to geta job now huh? Shoot, who's gonna pay for my new wardrobe? anyone willing to give to the X-charity? Thxs! p.s. -Travel+relaxing=recipe for a great summer! A tune that reminds me of summer is Will Smith's 80's or early 90's-Summertime Peace!
  3. DnD...well said. No need to add my 2 pesos, u pretty much covered it.
  4. I admit, i'm a virgin to the sports section of this forum, but I've had a nagging question to ask, and u sports fanatics may have the answer. So bear with me. My question is, why do sports athletes get more or fuller scholarship than straight-A students?(when it comes to attending college/Uni) For ex, if a student, who gets average marks in school, lets say, a C average, yet is dominant in basketball/football why do they get offered a full scholarship, not having to pay a red cent for their school, just so that they can play for their college team, versus a straight A student that has worked hard all their high school career, and may get a partial to no scholarship offered. Is that fair? Or is is reflective of the western society, where anything that makes loads of money is valued more than brains? Do they deserve it just for their skills or should they also be held to a higher standard and should also be required to have a higher average to maintain? Peace
  5. Muslim student association If u had the choice btwn 2 handicaps..god forbid...to be blind or to be paralyzed?
  6. "X_Q, if they are looking for people around their area then why don't they just go out and socalize instead of trying to meet people from their state on the net it don't make sense" Scorpion, its probably b/c ppl in their area already know them and for some good reason, would rather not go out with them, so they choose the virtual world to snag an unsuspecting xalimo. Plus, a lot of guys barely talk face to face, and they get the guts to do it hiding behind a screen, hence being safe, they can be whoever they wanna be, portray any persona, be the person they were sadly not blessed to be. p.s.-next time ur asked any annoying questions, just tell em u have 11 kids waiting to be breastfed, see how fast he runs. Peace

    Metro-Sexual

Metrosexual: a straight man trying to catch a subway? no...lol..its a straight man with nice style. Takes good care of himself, knows how to dress, goes to all his dental appointments, polishes his shoes, not afraid to comb his hair or wear clothes that fit. Don't worry, no farah is under that category, so go on with ur saggy pants...(some of u).
  8. Daredevil...oh no u didnt? girl, dont make me whip u with my weave!! Im named Xquizit for a reason...hehe  Girl, i think ur the 1st category...lol..vain and self centered...kiddin.. Nomad, pls nigga...im a triangle...got 3 sides to moi...good girl, naughty girl, lunatic...so watch out now! But i think ur in the shy, nervous category, u don't seem to meet REAL women too often.. ...u barely know how to act around me...sooooo cute of u...take a number..get in line... Peace!
  9. 41 TO 50 POINTS: Others see you as fresh, lively, charming, > >amusing, practical and always interesting; someone who's > >constantly > >in the center of attention, but sufficiently well-balanced > >not to let it go to their head. They also see you as kind, > >considerate, and > >understanding; someone who'll always cheer them up and help > >them out. Taking a bow....Thank you, thank you, no applause, no pictures either...oh..what the heck, get my good side at least.
  10. Lol Baashi.. Scorpion, if i may speak of how some of the men there think, its basically to narrow down to someone from their area, or would like to meet, hence, they don't go there to have just a random chat, but have some sinister ideas behind it. I myself was asked, where i lived, down to the address, age, qabil, marital status,if i was living alone which will make their "visits" easier if family wasn't in the way, etc...purely ****** and idiotic questions, therefore if u don't want those type of questions, block them as i do and only speak to the general public. If they were truly there for just a chat, then where u are from and other impertinent questions wouldn't matter. Peace
  11. "X quisit, i love your advice. but i am a man. how can i use it. " Qac qaac, for u, id advise u to say yes to the first imaginary xalimo that "throws" herself at u, or better yet, pay someone to be with u. OR...don't talk or show urself to her until the wedding day, that way u woulda suckered her into a relationship with u . Good luck!
  12. Qac qaac, don't flatter yourself, the day i invite u under my rock is the day i'm blind, deaf and paralyzed, cause i won't be able to see u, hear u, or run away from u, hence im trapped. Yikes!
  13. movies at home in terms of a partner, for men and woman would u want a cook or a cleaner primarily? (not sure if it was asked b4)
  14. DA, yeah, FGM is still practiced, last i heard of it anyways, therefore, it isn't a practice that is reserved for somalis living back in the homeland. Most ppl took their ideas of FGM when they left back home, and sadly, little girls are being subjected to it. I was watching a documentary not too long ago, about a married somali couple, where the husband insisted on making sure his wife was circumsized by opening her himself in the marriage bed, not allowing her to go to a gyno to open her so that her first experience won't be painful. According to him, if he allowed that, he would "lose face" in front of his friends and the larger society and deemed weak for not opening her himself. Also, I know of a neighbor who still gets herself circumsised, voluntarily, after giving birth to her kids. Thats' a prime example of ignorance. Peace
  15. Runaway Virgin, actually I would rather a lot of girls be like you rather than throwing themselves at the first farax who shows any interest. No, there's nothing wrong with you, just because you are not ready or want a relationship at 21 doesn't make you a wierdo. You just haven't found the right one to turn your head and give a chance to, it will all happen in good time. It's also wise of you not to go out with your male friends, b/c most of the time, its not worth losing a friendship over, so make it clear to them that its always gonna be platonic btwn you guys, otherwise, all too often, men use the guise of friendship to try to sway you to like them. Peace
  16. Raula, we're pretty much saying the same thing. I did say that i blamed the women, such as the midwives and the mothers who think w/o the practice, their daughters may become un-marriageable, but I also gave the men their share of the blame since i did say it was introduced by them. What's astonishing to me, and maybe we arrived at different conclusions due to our different encounters and experiences, majority of ppl i see who still support it are women, because they have been indoctrinated with that idea, and some of u may have seen different where it is the men who are still for it. Bottom line is, regardless of what sex supports it, it needs to be completely banned and stop using the excuse of islam as a reason to do it. We should remove the social stigma from un-circumsized girls and realized that a woman will keep her honor through her deen, not b/c of of stiches. Peace
  17. Qac Qaac, awwww....do u feel left out of my good guy list? Too bad, so sad, now go crawl back under the rock u came from. Thxs!
  18. "And if I DONT? then WHAT? You WIll sue Me Parhaps for being hardheaded? " Naw, suing u, considering ur a welfare pro, won't get me much, but shooting u, hm...dont tempt me..hehe..beware ..be veeeery scared
  19. Well, my dear lost nomad, i believe i said in the beginning of my post, i was gonna add my 2 cents and that i wasn't gonna answer the q for the men whether they oppose it or not. So next time, read all b4 jumping the gun. Adios!
  20. Geel Jire, if I may intrude upon this male only topic, and include my 2 pesos, thxs a bunch. Believe it or not, I actually put majority of the blame on women, when it comes to FGM, as they are the ones that are providing the service, ie-the usually unclean midwife with the un-sterilized needles, and also are the ones, until today, most women i know are still standing staunchly by the barbaric practice. They believe that a daughter that's not circumcised will become "sex crazed", hence uncontrollable, bringing down the honor of their families. That being said, I think that the idea of curbing a woman's sexuality vis a vis mutilating her body, may very well have come from men, in order to ensure that the woman comes to them in her marriage bed as pure as possible. But most men i know, including my father, were actually opposed to it, so im interested to see if any men in this day and age still proposes FGM. Off course, Islam doesn't condone this practice and I'm quite encouraged to have heard that now some parts of somalia, djibouti, and the larger community as a whole, have banned it, although some may still do it in secret. FGM, contrary to the beliefs it was founded on, doesn't actually curb or stop a woman from pre-marital sex, and in fact, stitched or not, pre-marital sex is rampant in somali societies. Therefore, it failed it objective. How about introducing Islam as a form of abstinence instead of resorting to FGM? Just a thought. Peace
  21. UD, how sweet, a foot up my **** ...romantic i tell ya.... don't worry, my ammunition is in remission, it's only reserved for responding to REAl issues, not to squabble with the "head" of the family. Ok..let me see...who would i wanna meet? To be honest no one..hehe..not b/c i dislike u all, but b/c it won't make my life any richer, or would it? in that case, sign me up!.. , no offense.lol But,if i had to choose, and it was a world emergency, if i may copy UD's style, of breaking down to sections, id say....drum roll.... 1st section, ppl i admire and generally have good things to say on here. No particular order.Top 4:i can think of right on the spot. 1-Zarinaz, aka Ore..good head on her shoulders 2-Pearl, smartest gal i know 3-Opi-always makes any conversation or posts spicy. 4-DnD- funny and intellectual Boy i'd want to enroll them into women's studies 101..Top 4...drum roll! 1-Qac Qaac: no surprise there! 2-Garab aka shadow of Qac: same as above 3-Underdog: the cave's getting lonely, come out and play! 4-Khayr: still stuck in dinosaur mode! Men who seem to have a pretty good head on their shoulders, although i admit, i don't know the men here too well, but a short list is here. 1-Gediid 2-Mobb Deep 3-Northener 4-Nunne Shoot, i'll come back when i think of more. Peace!
  22. Bambina, have you ever tried those strenghtening and conditioning creams, called "Cholesterol Plus", by Kair, we have 'em here in Tdot, not sure where else they carry it, but im sure u can find something similar. Basically, u use it after u shampoo ur hair, and leave in for as little as 2 min, depending how much time you have or up to 20 or more minutes, the longer the better, and rinse it out. It enriches your hair has lots of oils to add moisture to dry hair and do it once a week. After that, make sure you use a good styling oil, and use it everyday to add moisture. Make sure you shampoo isnt for oily hair, because it will strip ur hair of its natural oils, buy the one that is especially for dry hair. Also, be careful of not over using styling products like blow dryer and straighteners, because that can also contribute to dryness. Good luck!
  23. *RED* Cute and lovable type, you are picky but always in love... and liked to be loved. Fresh and cheerful, but can be "moody" at times. Capable with people nice, soft, and that can love you for the way you are. Likes people that are easy to talk to, and can make you feel comfortable. Hmmm...let me see ....i pretty much agree with it all, except for the always in love part. Instead of cute, id rather be a firebrand! I can add more, but heck, this aint no dating service, so i'll keep all my good virtues to myself.
  24. Gediid, ur wlc to answer the last part, and all the other guys in here as well. Would u advise ur wife to have a natural birth or support her if her choice was to go through a Csection, although its not needed. Ud, i guess doctors are taking advantage of it for purely material reasons, when in fact, there are extreme risks in Csections, and other than money, i cant understand why someone would voluntarily choose it.
