Is Egypt trying to bully Sudan for allowing Turkey make an investment in Sudan?

This gives you a picture of that Egyptian dictator's mindset.

If Egypt is targeting Sudan it has a long border between them, and it does not need Eritrean border. I think Egypt is planning to target the Wayaane Dam. Couple of F-16 from eritrean base will do the jbb and Ethiopia can not retaliate against Egypt.

Egyptian air force is one of the best in Africa and middle east. The Nile is the life of the Egyptian people  and these huge dams in Ethiopia will eventually affect the lives of millions of people. If C/Fataax Al-Sisi want to help his country , now is the time to destroy that dam.

What could Ethiopia do?. Poor Eritrea is not the manipulated and fragmented Somalis. In 1998-2000, a hundreds of  thousands of  Ethiopian forces tried to invade and finish off Eritrea, but were defeated. That battle was fought like the trenches of the first world war. Ethiopia lost more than 80,000 soldiers, and at the end they occupied only  few districts. Thousands of Oromo and others surrendered. Since that tough lesson Ethiopia never tried to invade Eritrea. Imagine a poor country of four million, yet determined to stand tough. Even the Ethiopian media accuses every little political issue to the " Jabha Sha'biya"  of Eritrea.

Egypt will be backed by the USA, and Saudi Arabia. Yemenis, Djiboutian and others will watch as the war unfolds. Sudan or TUrkey will not interfere a war between Ethiopia and Egypt. Somali government will only call for peace and dialogue, but we the Somali people , will stand with Egyptian people and their efforts to keep the Nile following. WE hate Sisi but we care a lot about the people of " Masar Umu Dunya".

They were on our side during tough times, especially during the Somali independence, and their educational  outreach through the Somali territory.

Who knows , if SISI is smart, he might hasten the collapse of the Tigray regime. If war breaks, No Oromo, AFar, Somali or others would be willing to die a war to save the Wayane regime and it's Dam.

Guys, we do not like the UAE, yet with Egypt, if they bomb the Wayaane regime, I will take the Egyptian side.

Lately there were a lot of geopolitical issues taking shape in the region and the middle east, yet  we Somalis were looking everything uniformly without judging every case with its merits. We do not like what Mohammed Bin Salmaan is doing, yet we do not want the collapse the SAudi Arabia or the " Fitna" to reach Makah and Medinah. Also, we must differentiate the people and the government. The same case must be applied with Egypt too.

The Tigrat regime is trying to ride the Turkish to it's advantage and use against Egypt and others. The Turks know that they saved Somalia from the mayhem caused by the Ethiopian policy of fragmentation.

Finally, If Farmaajo ever flies to Addis and begs for security help, we will do whatever it takes and will make sure he leaves office before his term.

Interest of the Somali should not be based on some folks frustration that the Weyannie won't go away. No Somali interest should be based on "friendship" that has always been in practice reason of failure and chaos.

The following points are important historical and current actions of Egypt that were detrimental to the Somali:

1. The Egyptians promised a lot of support for Somalia in the 77 war. When the real need arose, you could not get the Egyptians to say Hi calling them with Megaphone. Was all silence.

2. After the Arta conference and formation of first TFG, Egypt was first country the president of Somalia visited, the Egyptians did not even provide scholarship to students let alone to come on the ground and help with training, diplomatic support. All this for single reason. The president told them that he sides with them, but at the moment he could not fight Ethiopia. He needs to stand Somalia at least on one foot.

3. Egypt did not support Somalis 10% of what Sudan did

4. In their recent tour Egyptians promised Somaliland that Egypt will insist Somaliland's view and delegation be recognized for build up of future recognition. Somaliland knew better of the treacherous Egyptians.

Even if one is so blinded by hate of Tigray/Ethiopia, one has to consider that Ethiopia will always be a neighbour to Somalis everywhere, so no choice of neighbour, but one can choose a far away friend.

I did not even mention that Egypt is working at this time to overthrow Sudan, not from its land but through Eritrea. Sudan has already declared emergency status for the regions that will be involved.

Egypt is the most expensive and most useless water boy for America. The only purpose for Egypt is Gaza. Too expensive to maintain a country of 80 million for just one purpose of making prison and also being prison guard for Palestinians in Gaza.

Holac,

Sudan next year is taking 2 billion cubic meter water from the Nile. Sudan is actually proposing that let that water stay in the Ethiopian dam since the Ethiopians are filling the dam. It will take 2-3 years to fill completely.

Egyptians are trying to repeat 1958. Egypt and Sudan got into conflict on the water. The Egyptians helped overthrow the regime in Sudan and got the new guy to sign for 40 years for Egypt to use the water.

Egyptians are reasoning Ethiopia is heavy weight diplomatically, big powers are invested in Ethiopia, Military also having terrain, distance, superior will to fight for country. What they are missing is that the Sudanese have no less of fighters when the enemy is Egypt. Weapons as well have significant. The Sudanese bordering Egypt would just drive toyota land cruisers with machine guns and capture Cairo.

Is also opportune time for the Brotherhood in Egypt. Don't forget Sudan is Brotherhood. Egypt could also bluffing for the election.

Saudi Arabia attacks Yemen when its time to return 2 provinces to Yemen.

USA takes down Soviet when the 99 year for Alaska is over and Yeltsin did not even ask.

The British overthrow Iyasu of Ethiopia and bring King Haileslassie. Reason agreement Iyasu made with Standard oil of New Jersey (today Exxon) and Haileslassie gave it to British Petroleum. The fake news to overthrow Iyasu was that he has become Moslem. The Ethiopian pope excommunicated him. Too late when he came to Tigray/Wollo from Somali area his father had already been killed. Coup without facebook, but fake propaganda.

GUYS

As I said  many times, Egypt will face certain DEATH if the water stops, compounded by climate change, and the dam, EGYPT soon or later will attack Ethiopia, that is guaranteed,

Egypt, for this reason, has been putting most of their defense budget on buying fighting jets.

Whether they win or lose, who take with, Eritrea, UAE, that is a different matter. SOMALIA and Somalis should stay away,

Water is the biggest threat to their national security.

Right now shebele River and jubba are dry and Ethiopia is building more dams to completely stop the follow of the water to somalia we should side with Egyptian for this reason.

I even believe Egypt added SOMALIA to Arab league for their national interest,  This has seriously confused SOMALI identity, Eritrea is more suitable to be in the ARAB league.

There is different being a Muslim nation and ARAB.

IMHO that is the absolute wrong approach. If you oppose electrical generation, you are telling the Ethiopians that they are allowed only to enjoy the scenery of flowing river with empty stomach and backward zero economy. That will not fly anywhere and you loose since you don't even show basic human relations.

Your objective should be:

Let the Ethiopians have electric generating dams since what ever comes to the dam flows after the turbines minmum lose.

You can even be a share holder and invest in it. Good investment.

The Ethiopians should also not use the big rivers for irigation, but the small ones. That is a win win.

The Egyptians regret is they did not become share holders when invited. The Egyptians were too arrogant and thought the dam cannot be built by Ethiopians. Somalia should use different approach from beginning. Somalia has also many times  more influence on Ethiopia than Egypt. The Ethiopians understand this. Ethiopians would be more concerned and worried about a Somali warlord in some region than Sissi of Egypt. Hard to believe I know, but that is how things work with current governemnt in Ethiopia. They would be more worried about Sudan than Egypt. Its natural.

A collection of guns or jets does nothing as time goes by. Don't forget Somalia had some latest collection in its day too. The Ethiopians have a staying power just like Mohamed Ali, can withstand more shocks than others.

They are also most religious people. It doesn't matter Moslems, Christians in each of their religions they are traditional (Christians dont take to Evangelicals or zionist christian fad of the day and Moslems never accepted Wahabi no matter if petrodollars was flowing). That is also a strength in peace in war in draught in wealth good times they praise bad times they beg and pray each according to their faiths. So far its the only country with such numbers of christians and Moslems that has found its balance. That is a big factor in war. It gives one patience, gracefully accept defeat and magnanimously take victory.
