The prime minister and Qaramada Midoobay envoy, Nicholas Kay, were secretly planning to visit Baydhabo on yesterday (Monday). But locals got wind of it and started an abrupt demonstration against them. Then two protesters were shot by militia under 'police' attire. One died, the other seriously wounded.

 

The prime minister and the UN envoy immediately cancelled their trip.

 

They were against them because the prime minister, along with the UN envoy, support the three-gobol maamul goboleed, which they want to force the natives to accept. The natives support the already functioning lix-gobol dowlad goboladeed, Koonfur Galbeed.

People from Baydhabo are peaceful people but when even they are protesting its clear that federalism project is to make people who are natives to regions hate each other and fight among themselves. brother against brother , Neighbour against Neighbour to pro long the somalia civilians suffering and continue this nightmare.

This Clan Federalism was invented in two stages, first by the Siyadist regime by dividing the colonial regions from the original 8 regions 2 in British Somaliland ( West ,East) and 6 in Italia Somalia into 18 smaller regions and to give his Said Barre clans people land everywhere in the country. The other inventor of Clan federalism in Somalia is the Ethiopian regime of late Melez Zenawi his strategy was to defeat Somali nationhood forever this policy report was published online on the Ethiopian foreign website 10 years ago.

That makes sense. People's demands should not be dismissed. I hope the perpetrators of the bloodshed are brought to justice. People have the right to demonstrate. Why shoot at them?

What functioning lix gobol mamul is there? Are we making up stuff here? These few protestors can't dictate their desires to others. There was a meeting of elders in Kismayo last year and they have decided to form their own administration in Jubboyinka. There are two choices here - either keep up with pointless protests which should be their right if they so choose. Or build what you have and convince/negotiate to get a lix gobol mamul in the future. Rabble rousing is much easier than building governance.
