welcome to kismayu

Ugaas

Its true Kismayu conjures image of endless conflicts and hardship, there’s no avoiding that. In many ways, it's city of two conflicting promises. One can observe signs of a city poised on the verge of greatness and on the other hand you’ll witness a city teetering on the brink of clash again, waiting for the next flash-point; but you’ll also witness an incredible strength and resilience of the people of Kismayu first-hand, Their ability to be as hopeful as ever for brighter future in spite of the tremendous obstacles before them. This was an inspiration and something that I have carried within me since coming back — Here I’ll soon post some of the images I took from the city...

Ps. Sol has changed since I last visited, gone is my beloved Yunis nick, somehow the system password recovery fetched out this Ugaas which I never used it. Perhaps wordpress template migration issue? Admin – any chance aan ku helikaro yunis username again?

This is how huge Xalane (the real Villa Somalia) has became. Snapped an aerial image of Xalane just before landing Adan Cade airport via Kismayo flight...
