Somaliland's Political Prisoners/ No Freedom Of Opinion

Recommended Posts

There is no Freedom of opinion in Somaliland. This poor guy believes in the Union of somalia. Why deny him his right?, If some of the people in somaliland want the right to believe in secession then they must allow those that believe otherwise to express their views! That is democracy. Free the poor guy!

Hargeysa (RBC)- Mid ka mida madax dhaqameedka ugu cad cad deegaanada Somaliland Boqor Raabi Yuusuf Cabdillaahi ayaa maanta maxkmada Hargeysa ku riday xukun ku siman laba sano oo xadhig ah.

Boqorka ayaa saaka la keenay maxkamada Hargeysa isaga oo mudo labaatan maalmood ah ku xidhnaa xarunta danbibaadhista ee Hargeysa xukun la’aan.

Maxkmada Hargeysa ayaa Boqor Raabi Yuusuf Cabdilaahi xukunkiisa u adeegsatay xeerka ciqaabta guud ee 212, hase ahaatee ciqaabta lagu xukumay ilaa hadda kumay dhawaaqin maxkamadu.

Go’aanka ay maxkmadu gaadhay ayaa lala xidhiidhanayaa danbi lagu sheegay in Boqor Raabi uu ka galay Somaliland, isla markaan uu Muqdisho ka degay, taas oo lagu tilmaamay danbiile qaran.

Tagitaanka Muqdisho ee Boqor Raabi ayaa lagu sheegay inuu ka mid ahaa dadkii wax ka soo dhisay dawlada fadaraalka ah ee Soomaaliya ee uu haatan madaxweynaha ka yahay Xasan Sheekh Maxamuud, isaga oo xiligaas matalaayey qayb ka mida beelaha dega Somaliland.

Si kastaba ha ahaatee xeerka xamar tagistiisa danbiilaha sheegaya ilaa hada si cad looma qeexin, waase mid dhawrkii sane ee la soo dhaafay lagu arkaayey xukumadihii kala danbeeyey

He went to Somalia and said he is an elder of SL and that of his sub clan and clan and that he represents his clan, thats why he was locked up not because of his opinion. General jamac maxamamad qaalib and Kaluun frequently visit Somaliland never do they say they represent Somaliland or their clan but they are allowed to tell their opinion thats the difference. This is nothing new he was locked up in 2001 to after the carta conference.

I know Xiin, but one must be prepared for a difference in opinion in any democracy as claimed by somaliland. We as a Nation refuse secession and they claim it is their right to believe what they believe. Fine!, believe what you like, but the same freedom is also a right of those that don't share your opinion. This man came to his capital and willingly represented his tribe as their leader.

That means that dictator Silaanyo is holding this innocent man prisoner for his belief, a belief I must say is legally sound for he only went forth and picked up the flag of the only legitimate country he has which is Somalia!

When self appointed traditional elder takes responsibility to represent for a nation in another country, he ignores not only the constitutional law of the country but every member of the nation, therefore he should be locked up for long time and when he serves his prison sentence, then he should be shipped away to xamar.

You forgot something, It isn't a nation yet, so he can exercise his convictions as he see fit. Besides since you are all claiming to be breaking away from somalia, all of you are then committing treason which then brings up the question; why blame General Ali samatr and Siyaad Barre for the actions they took to safeguard the integrity of the nation?.

One breeds the other. Either all have the right to express their opinion or none should!

It seems a lot of folks here can not distinguish between freedom of speech, freedom of opinion, and political treason. The old guy is guilty of political treason committed against his country but he is still entitled to his opinion and speech.

You are wrong Carafaat. Political negotiations between countries do not involve demands for the release of convicted criminals. If Koonfuria ever makes such an absurd demands, Silaanyo would simply tell them to mind their own business.

Hassan sheikh Alle ha hifdiye, doesnt need to score points, these folks in the provinces of togdheer etc are his constituents and he needs to ensure their interests are also served by the Federal Government. At the same time he has to hold them to account on any and all attrociries commited by them. after all they are one of the federal states under his command
