Explaining percentile score to someone

Recommended Posts

Am I right in saying that percentile score shows where a person's score falls within the total population of those who took the test?

i.e. a percentile score of 87% means that the persons' score is ≥87% of the total population (i.e. all those who took the test)?

Mahadsanid in advance.

Haatu, Call it a sample, population or whatever other body of representative population you consider or observe. When you say 87th section, I'm assuming that I and others are saying 87th percentile. In another words, we are calling the same thing on different names.
