This is the position the President should have taken in the first place. Finally we are moving in the right direction.

it is too late for his silly flipfloping to have any impact now. Juba has moved on. he has shown the somali people his true clannist colors.

it is interesting because nairobi talk is that qoslaye was ordered by the powers that be not to sabotage the peace building process that is underway in Jubba regions or else he and his goverment will be a toast very soon. he had no choice.

That maybe so, but do we need to add fuel to the fire?. Let us hope it works for the betterment of the Nation.

Wasn't that his approach all the time that he supports a federal state in those regions for the people by the people he was just against the Kenyan interference in his local domestic issues. Yes to a federal state in Kismayo no to an autonomous state is the message coming from Xamar.

XX: You read between the lines. The president has tweaked a bit for his previous stand with regards to Jubaland. For the better, I may add.

Autonomous regions are for the big players, the big dawgs, the gentlemen of the region, federal are for small puppies, do you agree Xaaji, federal states are for the small puppies?

But I am glad Puntland is a federal state leading by example, mashallah.

Not really he hardly talked about Kismayo the only time he mentioned Kismayo was when he was in Hiiraan. This was his policy all the time and we should support the president in his decision to include the people of Kismayo in the state making of their region.

Federalism is an experiment we shall see how it goes when the constitution is approved by the people of Somalia on a referendum in a few years time. In the mean time people can start state building at sub regional level while the government is involved. But the era of autonomous states is fading away in Somalia.

FYI; He wasnt supportive of this position. His initial position was one of "I will form the administration for Jubbaland .....not the locals

He has changed his stance somewhat in a way that is now conducive to further talks and progress in the formation of the new state. The difference now is that the Government will be having a role of Overseear as the constitution demands and the locl people will form the administration to their liking.

The other point is that these federal states are all Semi autonomous and this applies throughout the 18 provinces of the country.

An administration he appointed or an administration that is allied to his government and his security forces control is the same oday politics is all about the end goal people just take different routes.

And for ur information the security forces of Somalia will all be in charge of the security of the country as the constitutions says. The federal states will just have more to say in their local affairs. But there wont any be semi autonomous states like you see them in Puntland and Galmudug.

And all this time you are arguing for the side of the president yet you were not aware of what his position was? If you thought he was opposing it because Kismaayo wanted to be autonomous state, you don't know what you are talking about. The conflict was not about "autonomous state" and was not about "Kenyan interference in his local domestic issues" President Hassan position was since he's the head of the federal government, he had the sole responsibility to create the admin in the region, not the locals people. So Muqdisho was going to plan and set up the admin in Kismaayo. This was the conflict, not about anyone being autonomous or Kenya taking away dhul or bad Soomaaliyeed. The locals did not refuse his participation or the role the feds will play in their self-determination.
