**** fatigue evident in Prime Minister Race

Recommended Posts

Abtigiis

The race for the Premiership of Somalia is hotting up. Farole’s calls for this and that in the last couple of weeks were more of a desperate plea for attention than a genuine belief in better political prospect for his region. And much to the chagrin of Faroole, it looks Somalis have finally exhausted the ardour of the quisling politics this particular region have spawned for long, as the role of regional powers in determining who gets what in Somalia is waning. There is a real and present -fatique in the Somali political arena. A fatique which means either Gedo or Khatuumo are likely to get the PM post. This fatigue is clear for all to see, but what is also almost sure to happen is that the sabotage culture of Puntlanders will kick in the moment a new non-Punt PM is sworn in.

Meanwhile, the president is getting pressured from three sides: A) His clan b) his party C) International community. So far it looks he will listen to his party first, second to the international community and last to his clan.

The long-footed community is not yet mentally ready for the PM position. As much as I hate to acknowledge it looks the long-held view that 's are deficient in intellect is true at least in the politics sphere. :D

Abtigiis the bigfoot community should not act like guests they are playing a huge role in Somalia's Politics particularly in the juba regions with the Azania project. They played a role in the fight against General siad bare with the SPM faction led by Mr Cumar jees. Doqonimada ha isku cadayn wa ku sidee.

How is that gob, that is weakness, it is a failure and useless, you should not welcome such behaviour as Unuka.

We have reer Faroole oo leh hadaa laga dhigi wayo raisal wasaaraha anaga, wixi dhaca idinka ka masuul ah

We have reer gedo oo iyaguna leh hadaa raisal wasaaarah anaga lanaga dhigi wayo intayada banu goosanayna.

I don't even care who gets to be PM so long as he is competent. Puntland and specially the community mentioned above did not play a central role in Somali transitional politics until the arrival of A Yusuf in 2004. Yet the development of the regions and notably Bossaso took place way before then. You can be sure that Puntland and it's various community will continue to prospour with or without the top posts.

GD reassured what A&T is alluding here! Where is Moogihii xariifka iska dhigaayey? Now he started saying, Sh. Shiriif should stay even though upon to the election days he was so adamant that he should go..

A&T you raised a good point up there, so would care elaborating little more about the pressures:

a) His clan - who they pressuring for?

b) International - who they eying on? hope this is not only Kenyan cause we know who Kenyans want already and that is gone by!

c) His party - who they demanding for?

I don't understand: a significant segment of Somalia's political community who would not otherwise agree on things , agree on one thing: the PM post must not be given to !

And what do you call that Abtigiis? :D

I think people are fed up with the federal form of politics in Somalia rather then specific clans. Politicians from Puntland symbolised this federalism because they championed for the federalism cause.

If the next PM, from whatever regions he comes from, continues this path of clan "federalism" for sure he will loose the support.
